    Motion Designer

    Key Task & Responsibilities

    1. To create and craft design and motion graphics as per the requirements of the client brief, focusing on creation of assets (graphic elements), motion design, and delivering of high quality and innovative motion design and interactive design content. This can include but is not limited to digital artwork of the following nature: motion and graphic design for presentations, motion design for video, storyboarding, print design, interpretation and execution of design systems and interactive design.
    2. To conceptualise the design and motion and interactive design component of learning content.
    3. To work together with various production team members and be a part of the execution of effective learning content.
    4. To maintain and follow best practice for version control, naming convention, exports and organisation of graphic files set out by Lobster Ink.

    Skills / Competencies

    • Proven Adobe Creative suite skills, with established experience in design and motion graphics is a requirement.
    • Proven ability to create high quality content from a loose or constrained brief with short deadlines.
    • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro would be advantageous
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
    • Ability to conceptualise ideas and bring them to life visually.
    • Excellent time management and quality management skills are essential.
    • Understanding how visual design influences the way people learn is really advantageous, if this is something you don’t know - read up on it now, it will provide you with context and may be useful in your interview.
    • Print Design/ Interactive / eLearning software / UX experience is beneficial.
    • Experienced in remote working.

    Minimum experience required

    • Industry experience is beneficial but a strong interactive design portfolio and solid understanding of design and motion principles is more important.

    Minimum qualifications/education

    • 1 year diploma or more in a design/ motion design discipline
    • Minimum 6 years working in Motion and Design discipline
    • Matric and relevant tertiary qualification in design or similar
    • A comprehensive digital portfolio or reel of motion design work

    Interactive Designer

    Key Task & Responsibilities

    • Design and develop creative solutions whereby interactive content aligns to project requirements. This includes learning created in the appropriate authoring tools, as well as assisting in the creation of assets for the production team.
    • Contribute and adhere to style guidelines and storyboards to design interactive content i.e. elearning packages, interactive visual content and animation.
    • Continuously self-check to quality control your deliverables.
    • Collaborate internally to generate concepts and ideas.
    • Occasionally research new innovations to better business delivery and report and pitch findings/insights.

    Skills / Competencies

    • Experience with rapid e-learning authoring tools i.e. Articulate 360 Rise/Storyline is essential, Adobe Captivate is beneficial.
    • A qualification in graphic design/interactive/UX or equivalent.
    • Understand the basic principles of visual language, e.g. Hierarchy of typography, clean layout, alignment and balance.
    • An ability to interpret and translate client brands.
    • Minimum four years of work experience required in relevant learning and design fields.
    • Proficient in design software such as Adobe CS6/CC: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. PC Literate. Experience with Microsoft applications is beneficial.
    • Understanding how to design specifically with the learner in mind.
    • Motion Graphics experience (advantageous).
    • Experience in HTML and CSS (advantageous).
    • Job Aids and interactive PDFs (advantageous).
    • UX Experience (advantageous)

    Minimum experience required
