    Fund Coordinator (Western Cape)

    Description

    • Manage the complete, end-to-end processing of risk benefits for retirement fund members and their dependents. This service covers fund members located in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Eswatini.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Effectively prioritise and manage multiple claims and administrative tasks to meet deadlines and service level agreements.
    • Administer and maintain records for Section 37C Death claims (including Funeral and Educational assistance), Disability, Critical illness and Retirement claims, ensuring compliance with company standards, policies, and legislation.
    • Source, verify, and manage all required supporting documentation for efficient claims processing.
    • Compile monthly progress reports and ad-hoc reports.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and serve as a liaison between the business, fund administrators, risk providers, payroll, fund members, and their relatives.  
    • Attend fund administration meetings.
    • Provide ad-hoc assistance and support to the Remuneration and Benefits team.

    Requirements

    • Tertiary qualification in a related field
    • 3 - 5 years working experience in the employee benefits environment (preferably with exposure to death and disability claims administration)
    • Sound knowledge of the Pension Funds Act, tax legislation, group risk products and payroll
    • Computer literacy, Sage 300, MS Excel/Google Sheets
    • Ability to work with highly confidential information
    • Ability to work independently and function well in a fast-paced environment

    Payroll Accountant (Western Cape)

    Description

    • Ensure the accurate and timely processing, payment, and reconciliation of all payroll-related financial transactions and accounts, adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Managing daily, weekly and monthly salary-related payments.
    • Ensure the accurate and timely reconciliation, payments and record keeping of all salary deductions to third parties and authorities.
    • Ensure all payroll control accounts are reconciled, balanced and posted to the general ledger.
    • Report on payroll errors and implement corrective actions and controls.
    • Resolve queries efficiently and within agreed timelines.
    • Provide support to all stakeholders to ensure service delivery standards in payroll are met.

    • Ensure all monthly, bi-annual and annual  tax returns are accurately reconciled and timely submitted to the relevant revenue authorities (including BLNE countries).

    Requirements

    • B. Com or related qualification (with Accounting Major)
    • 5 years of experience within a complex payroll environment, reconciling control accounts
    • Computer Literacy: Sage 300, Google Suite or MS Office (with advanced Excel)
    • Knowledge of payroll legislation (Income Tax, Employment Tax Incentives, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Sectoral Determination, PAYE, UIF, etc., as well as guidelines and best practices
