    Primary School Scholar Supervisor Temporary - SPARK Witpoortjie - 2026

    Position Purpose:

    • SPARK Schools supervisors drive student achievement by overseeing the culture and effectiveness of lunch, break, and aftercare. SPARK Schools supervisors care for classes of students during lunch, break, and aftercare to ensure student achievement, health, and safety.

    Requirements

    Electrician - SPARK Support Office - 2026

    Purpose of Role:

    • An Electrician at SPARK Schools is responsible for ensuring that all electrical infrastructure, systems, and equipment across the SPARK Schools network are safely installed, maintained, repaired, and compliant with applicable regulations and standards. The Electrician plays a critical role in supporting uninterrupted school operations by proactively identifying electrical risks, conducting preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and delivering high-quality workmanship across school and support office facilities.
    • This role requires a highly organised, safety-conscious, and solutions-driven individual who can work independently while maintaining exceptional customer service and professionalism when engaging with school-based staff and stakeholders.

    Reports To: Regional Facilities Manager (TBC)

    Requirements
    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for all planned preventative electrical maintenance across allocated SPARK Schools sites.
    • Conducts reactive electrical repairs and fault finding on electrical systems, circuits, DB boards, plugs, switches, lighting, and appliances.
    • Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in accordance with South African electrical regulations and standards.
    • Conducts routine inspections of electrical infrastructure to identify hazards, defects, or required upgrades.
    • Assists with electrical installations relating to new school projects, refurbishments, and operational improvements.
    • Installs and maintains interior and exterior lighting systems, emergency lighting, and security lighting.
    • Supports generator, inverter, solar, and backup power system maintenance and troubleshooting where required.
    • Ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and safe electrical working procedures.
    • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work completed, materials used, and outstanding issues.
    • Assists with ensuring all Certificates of Compliance (COCs) and electrical compliance documentation remain up to date.
    • Monitors and reports on electrical usage inefficiencies or potential energy-saving opportunities.
    • Manages electrical tools, testing equipment, and materials responsibly and reports damaged or missing items.
    • Responds promptly to emergency electrical failures or urgent operational issues.
    • Assists broader facilities and maintenance teams with operational support and ad hoc maintenance activities where required.
    • Performs regular housekeeping before and after maintenance work is carried out.
    • Communicates professionally with school leadership teams, support office staff, service providers, and contractors.
    • Provides innovative and practical recommendations to improve electrical infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.

    Qualifications and Criteria:

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and criteria:

    • Qualified Electrician with recognised trade certification
    • A Wireman’s Licence is required (Mandatory)
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ electrical maintenance experience
    • Experience working within commercial, educational, or multi-site environments advantageous
    • Knowledge of electrical compliance regulations and health and safety standards
    • Experience with generators, solar, inverters, or backup power systems is advantageous
    • English language fluency
    • Valid driver’s licence, with own vehicle required

    Primary School Security Guard - SPARK Ferndale - 2026

    Purpose of Role:

    • Security guards ensure that the school grounds and facilities are kept safe and secure during operational hours.

    Requirements
    Responsibilities:

    • Close the school grounds daily manually (lock and key) and rearm the alarm.
    • Ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and visitors on campus by patrolling the grounds and monitoring the gate.
    • Assist all visitors who arrive to the school by welcoming them, receiving their personal details, providing a guest pass, and directing them to the relevant staff members.
    • Assist visitors as they leave the school by helping them to return their guest pass and sign out.
    • Assist with dismissal procedures daily to ensure the safety of students.

    Assistant Principal Operations & Blended Learning (Temp) - SPARK Midrand High

    Purpose of Role:

    • The School Operations Manager drives student achievement in the SPARK Schools network by ensuring that their school operates smoothly, efficiently, and to a consistent standard of excellence.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement school­ wide systems and procedures (for example, arrivals, dismissals, cover timetables, study hall timetables, and examination administration) to facilitate student achievement and align with SPARK Schools network -wide best practice.
    • Support scholar achievement by setting clear and high expectations for excellent facilitation and monitoring in all innovation hubs.
