    Qualifications/Special skills

    • A recognised academic degree, with Afrikaans as a specialisation, and a professional teaching
    • qualification
    • SACE registered
    • Teaching experience in a similar teaching position
    • Experience and confidence in IEB curriculum delivery will be an advantage

    House Sister

    Key function:

    • Boarding at St Mary’s DSG provides a safe and caring atmosphere for over 150 girls from many
    • different countries and cultural backgrounds. Senior School Boarders make up 30% of the Senior
    • School and as such, they are a very important constituent in the success of the School.
    • This is a part-time twelve (12) month contract, live-in position, requiring the successful candidate to
    • assist and support the House Mothers and Director of Boarding with pastoral care and supervision of
    • girls aged 10 to 18.
    • We are looking for a supportive and caring person, who is studying towards a Degree, with the

    Following qualities and skills:

    • A genuine interest in, and concern for, young people
    • Ability to be patient, caring, understanding and empathetic
    • Ability to assist with weekend duties, meal duties, and prep duties, as well as other duties and
    • responsibilities as needed.
    • Experience working in a multi-cultural context
    • Understands working in a school context and its associated demands
    • Strong organisational skills with good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and a willingness to contribute to a dynamic team
    • Proficiency in an African language would be an advantage

    Boarding House Mother

    Key function:

    • Boarding at St Mary’s DSG provides a safe and caring atmosphere for over 120 girls from many African countries and cultural backgrounds. Senior School Boarders make up 30% of the Senior School and as such, they are a very important constituent in the success of the School.
    • This is a livein position requiring the successful candidate to assist the Director of Boarding with pastoral care, specifically offering structure for the girls aged 10 to 18, as well as to be responsible for their supervision.
    • This position is only open for full-time academic staff employed at St Mary’s DSG, and has payment in kind of shared or single accommodation including meal portions, WIFI and general amenities during term.

    We are looking for a supportive and caring person with the following qualities and skills:

    • A good understanding of discipline procedures as well as the application of conscious

    Foundation Phase Information Technology Teacher

    Foundation Phase Information Technology Teacher in the Junior School.

    The requirements and qualities of a successful candidate include:
