    Buyer’s Assistant: Meat

    Introduction

    • To achieve the Meat category’s goals by providing administrative support to the Meat Buying Team and to ensure the smooth running of the department

    Job description
    Administrative Supplier Management.

    • Daily communication with the supplier base and weekly reconciliation.  
    • Communication with Meat Buyers & Planners regarding supply and availability and facilitating corrective action required at supplier base.
    • Provide ordering support.
    • Maintain Static data.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Buying Team.
    • Ensure all Price and Pack information is transmitted accurately to all suppliers
    • Prepare departmental reports, Excel worksheets and
    • Word documents: eg:
    • Weekly sales reports per supplier.
    • Weekly supplier shorts (order fill) reports.
    • Communication of Promotional Planner and managing suppliers’ completion of Promotional Check Sheet timeously with correct flashes.
    • Manage alignment of flash fonts across all suppliers.
    • Departmental operating expense capturing & management.
    • Booking of meetings rooms, coffees and supplier parking.
    • Compile, update and maintain supplier files.
    • Ad-hoc administrative duties

    Minimum requirements

    Technical Skills:

    • At least 2 years relevant administration experience
    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Accounting or Finance Degree or Diploma
    • System experience of Supplier portal, COGNOS, CAM, JDA FF, FILA, RMS, FPI and COM
    • Computer literacy skills – Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint and Word
    • Basic understanding of retail accounting practices
    • Basic understanding of Buying and Planning Knowledge

    Space, Range And Display Manager

    Introduction

    • Lead the strategic shaping, and operational execution of micro space, assortment optimisation, and display efficiency for a portfolio of product Categories in support of Woolworths Foods business objectives.

    Job description

    • Lead the team in a manner consistent with our Woolworths Values and Our Leadership Way.
    • Participate in setting clear direction, objectives and ways of working for your team.
    • Actively participate in the development and training of your Space, Range and Display team members and colleagues.
    • Lead presentation and sign-off of micro space and assortment optimisation recommendations to category stakeholders at key milestones in the SRD process.
    • Lead a Space, Range and Display team to leverage trend analysis and data insights to proactively and continuously evaluate and provide value added actionable assortment and space recommendations that optimise use of space whilst driving profitable growth for both the Category and Foods business.
    • Ensure alignment between proposed product assortment, category strategy, role of category, customer needs, commercial targets, and on shelf execution in our stores.
    • Champion customer experience through customer-centric decision-making ensuring assortments and displays accurately reflect the customer decision-tree.
    • Lead own team to ensure all planograms meet our SRD Principles. Improve profitability of space by optimising assortments and space within the planogram.
    • Ensure space, range and display recommendations are holistic and sustainable resulting in positive commercial performance for both the Category and the overall Foods business.
    • Partner with the Space, Range and Display Centre of Excellence team to keep abreast with and leverage Foods SRD tools, and ensure quality execution of SRD processes across Foods.
    • Sponsor, and contribute to building a World-class Space, Range and Display capability as a profession for Foods.
    • Be accountable for the quality application of SRD processes and creation and maintenance of quality planograms for the Categories within your portfolio. Category Managers and Buyers are accountable for the sign-off of accurate planograms for their Category/ies.
    • Encourage collaborative behaviors with key stakeholders, including but not limited to: Buying, Planning, Product Development, Technology, Planning, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Trade planning, Store Development, Macro Space and Retail Operations Group.
    • Keep abreast with available macro space, equipment and display solutions for your categories that improve ease of shop and replenishment efficiency.  Provide space insights (for example minimum credible offer) into macro blueprint process.
    • Conduct regular store visits to proactively ensure strategic recommendations are executed and translate into an optimal customer experience on shelf in stores.
    • Lead the team to resolve assortment and planogram incidents timeously and escalate trends. Partner with Merchandising team to gather store input.

    Minimum requirements

    • Relevant 4 year tertiary degree or equivalent qualification
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant Retail experience
    • Proven experience successfully leading a team to deliver within the context of competing priorities and tight timeframes.
    • Ability to leverage Microsoft office suite skills to analyse data, deduct insights and prepare recommendations for effective communication in order to influence decision-making. Specifically Powerpoint, Excel and Word.
    • Ability to work in a matrix structure
    • Ability to communicate points of view and recommendations clearly, concisely, and respectfully, conveying complex information in a way that is simplified, understood and appreciated to elicit action or decision-making.
