    Human Resources Officer

    Overview of the Position:

    • CorpsAfrica is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and systems-driven professional to serve as the Human Resources Officer. Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, this position will primarily focus on People and Culture Data Management, comprehensive HR reporting, and end-to-end payroll review, processing, and systems implementation.
    • The ideal candidate will combine strong data fluency with functional HR capabilities to optimize our HR information systems (HRIS) by maintaining accurate employee files in the HRIS, ensure payroll accuracy across multiple operating locations, and provide data-driven insights to help shape organizational decision-making and enhance the employee experience.

    Classification: Full-time, non-exempt

    • Location: We expect a hybrid work situation based out of the CorpsAfrica office in Morocco, Senegal, Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa,Uganda, Gambia and Ethiopia.

    Reports to: Human Resource Manager.
     
    Specific Responsibilities: 
    Payroll Review & Processing

    • Manage full-cycle payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions across domestic and international locations.
    • Review monthly timesheets, leave balances, overtime calculations, and payroll documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with local statutory regulations.
    • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to perform payroll reconciliations and address payroll-related inquiries from staff promptly.

    HR Data Management & Analytics

    • Maintain, audit, and safeguard employee digital records and HR databases to ensure absolute data integrity, privacy, and confidentiality.
    • Track, analyze, and report on key People & Culture metrics (e.g., turnover, retention, diversity, recruitment yield, and employee engagement data).
    • Design, generate, and distribute recurring and ad-hoc HR reports and dashboards for leadership and cross-functional teams.

    Systems Implementation & Optimization

    • Support the implementation, configuration, and continuous improvement of HRIS, payroll platforms, and performance management tools. Provide consistent employee performance management (EPR) advice and guidance to country staff and supervisors. 
    • Serve as the functional administrator for internal HR software, training staff on self-service portals and troubleshooting system issues.
    • Document system processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides for all HR tools.

    General HR Support & Compliance

    • Assist the HR Manager in ensuring compliance with local employment laws, statutory withholdings, and reporting requirements.
    • Support onboarding and offboarding workflows by managing data entry, setup, and deactivation across HR systems.
    • Participate in HR projects and perform other duties as assigned to support organizational growth and efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus).
    • At least 3–5 years of progressive experience in HR data management, payroll processing, and HRIS administration, preferably within an international or multi-country non-profit environment.
    • Demonstrated expertise in advanced MS Excel/Google Sheets (vlookups, pivot tables, complex formulas) and experience using or implementing HRIS and payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, BambooHR, or similar systems).
    • Strong ability to interpret quantitative data, draw meaningful conclusions, and build clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
    • Solid understanding of payroll practices, statutory withholdings, and labor compliance across operating regions.
    • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, discrete handling of confidential information, and effective cross-cultural communication skills.
    • Fluency in English is required; fluency in French is strongly preferred.
    • A demonstrated passion and commitment to youth leadership, participatory community development, transparency, and operational excellence.

    Finance Assistant - South Africa

    OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:

    • The Financial Assistant plays a key supportive role in the Finance Unit of CorpsAfrica/ South Africa and helps ensure accurate recording, documentation, and reporting of financial transactions. The position works closely with the Admin & Finance Officer and supports compliance with internal policies, donor requirements, audit recommendations, and South Africa financial laws.

    CLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Fixed-Term Contract (1 year, renewable based on performance and funding)

    LOCATION: Rosebank, South Africa

    REPORTS TO: Admin & Finance Officer, Deputy Country Director

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Collect, verify, and organize financial supporting documents (receipts, invoices, vouchers).
    • Prepare payment vouchers and ensure all expenditures have complete approvals and documentation.
    • Maintain well-organized financial files in both hard and soft copies.
    • Assist with cash advance preparation, tracking, and timely liquidation.
    • Support petty cash management, including recording, reconciliation, and replenishment.
    • Assist in monthly bank and cash reconciliations.
    • Track expenses against approved budgets and verify correct budget coding.
    • Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and donor financial reports.
    • Ensure compliance with CorpsAfrica policies, donor rules, and South African financial laws.
    • Support implementation of internal audit recommendations and internal control procedures.
    • Assist with procurement documentation, including quotations and bid analysis.
    • Verify vendor information and ensure compliance before processing payments.
    • Support staff and volunteers with financial documentation and expense submissions.
    • Assist in preparing for external audits and other finance-related reviews.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, preferably with an NGO
    • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and South African financial procedures.
    • Fluency in English is required; fluency in two other other local languages is preferred
    • High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
    • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks is an advantage).
    • Good communication skills and ability to work with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
    • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Google Workspace).
