    Senior Specialist Database Administrator

    Job Purpose

    • To co-ordinate, prepare, collect and compile information required to facilitate analysis, management review, decision making or reporting requirements of the functional area. To support production databases during online day and after hours. To support developers with database related software and development.

    Education and Experience

    Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

    • Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Information Technology or Computer Science AND minimum 8-10 years' experience in a DB2 environment, of which 3-4 years’ experience at operational specialist level

    OR

    Customs and Excise Administrator

    Job Purpose

    • To provide administrative service, through coordinating and facilitating Customs and Excise processes and provide necessary information to enable effective reporting and administration within respective business units, in accordance with applicable legislation, policies and set standards

    Education and Experience

    Minimum Qualification & Experience Required

    Specialist: Data Analytics (X2)

    Job Purpose

    • The purpose of the Specialist: Data Analytics role is to analyse data and provide expert advice to achieve business objectives. This involves monitoring data integrity, identifying deficiencies, and recommending improvements. The role requires integrating business information, producing reports, and developing tactical solutions to enhance processes and systems. The specialist will also conduct research, benchmark best practices, and translate policies to ensure continuous improvement and effective decision-making.

    • A relevant Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7), preferably in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field AND 8–10 years of experience in a Data Analytics environment, of which 3–4 years at a junior specialist level, with demonstrable experience across multiple data roles (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Developer), and specific exposure to graph analytics.

    # Alternative Qualification

    • Senior Certificate (NQF 4) with 15 years of relevant experience in a Data Analytics environment, including experience in graph analytics, of which 3–4 years at a junior specialist level, with demonstrable experience across multiple data roles (Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Developer), and specific exposure to graph analytics.

    # Preferred Qualification

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering.

    Minimum Functional Requirements
