Key Accountabilities:

• Thorough knowledge of and compliance with all Studio standards, as well as general interior design conventions and drawing methodologies.
• Custom modelling of furniture, joinery, lighting etc.
• Furniture Layouts / Spatial planning of spaces.
• Numbered Furniture Layouts that relate to the project details.
• Ability to be flexible and forthcoming with supporting and assisting Lead/ Senior Interior Designers with achieving deadlines.
• Ability to produce and navigate within complex models in Revit.
• Good eye for producing architectural 3D views for client presentations and internal meeting purposes, including appropriate angles, view ratios, textures, and furniture model visuals.
• Produce plans, sections, elevations, and details to convey interior design information such as joinery, wall finishes, etc.
• Work under the direction of the Lead/Senior Interior Designers.
• Import and convert CAD drawings into Revit.
• Perform other Revit-related duties as assigned by the Lead Designer.
• To be able to interpret as well as provide insight into high-level technical drawings. Troubleshoot and resolve any potential problems and propose solutions accordingly.

Technical Skills:

• A minimum of 4 years working experience as a Revit Technician or similar role
• National Diploma in Interior Design/Draughting
• Proficient in Revit
• Technical knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD would be advantageous
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to understand and formulate a technical drawing pack.
• Ability to accurately understand and interpret instructions
• The ability to learn and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills
• Methodical, accurate, and consistent attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and communication skills to ensure all deadlines are continuously met.
• Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.

Job Purpose:

The main responsibility of this position is to ensure that the Weylandts shopping experience is further enhanced by maintaining an organized, visually appealing and welcoming store environment.

You will report to the Retail Manager, whilst getting direction from the Head office Visual Merchandising team.

• This position will be based at our Durbanville Showroom. 

Main Accountabilities:

• Consistently achieve the ongoing installation and dressing of the required merchandising plan within the prescribed time frame which will involve working with the basement team and will include some lifting, carrying etc.
• Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in store, working with Retail Manager and other store employees. Doing floor walks 3 times a day.
• Merchandising monthly campaigns according to the company’s design directives.
• Ensure a high standard of visual merchandising in line with the company’s vision and brand identity in the respective store.
• Ensure aggressive replenishment of homeware/ furniture.
• Ensure required photos of shelving/settings are sent timeously and without exception to the merchandising department.
• Ensure ongoing maintaining/updating of the furniture display settings and homeware shelving/tables as per last floor/setting changes and/or directives from Head office. This requires regular communication with the Head Office VM team.
• Assist customers and maintain a professional approach, selling when required.
• Work as a member of the store, assisting colleagues as required.
• Ordering the correct flowers and plants for the store timeously, and within the set budget.
• Assist with stock take if required.
• Be aware of new product arrivals and lines to be discontinued and plan for this in advance with Head office. Maintain superior product knowledge.
• Assist with receiving, unpacking and checking in of stock if and when required.

Technical Competencies:

• Grade 12
• Diploma/ degree in Interior decorating field preferred
• Minimum of 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar role and environment/brand
• The job holder must have a good eye for furniture settings and homeware and be creative.
• He/ she must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of company and merchandising policies and procedures as well as an understanding of how a retail outlet or store operates.
• They must have good administrative skills, excellent product knowledge and passion for decor/ furniture and homeware.
• They must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
