    Junior / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Mining

    Junior to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor – Mining

    • Our client is a leading international mining organisation focused on the responsible development and production of critical minerals. They are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their project team at a major tin mining operation near Sorris-Sorris, Namibia.
    • The role requires practical Quantity Surveying and commercial experience within a mining, construction, industrial or infrastructure environment, with strong exposure to cost control, procurement and contract administration.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Diploma, BSc, BTech or BCom in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification.
    • 2–5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying.
    • Experience within mining, construction, industrial or infrastructure projects.
    • Mining or mineral processing experience will be advantageous.
    • Experience with Bills of Quantities, measurements, valuations and cost estimates.
    • Knowledge of project cost control, budgeting and forecasting.
    • Experience with variations, claims and change orders.
    • Knowledge of contract administration and commercial management.
    • Experience with procurement, RFQs and tender evaluations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant Quantity Surveying software.
    • Strong analytical, numerical and reporting skills.
    • Exposure to NEC, FIDIC or GCC contracts will be advantageous.
    • Exposure to project controls or earned value management will be advantageous.
    • Preference will be given to Namibian citizens or candidates already residing in Namibia with long-term work eligibility.
    • Willingness to travel and work on a remote, site-based mining operation.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    Quantity Surveying & Cost Control

    • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets and cost plans.
    • Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities.
    • Conduct site measurements and valuations of completed work.
    • Verify contractor progress and payment claims.
    • Assist with monthly valuations, payment certificates and cost reports.
    • Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
    • Assist with forecasting, budgeting and cash flow projections.
    • Evaluate variations, claims and additional works.
    • Identify potential cost overruns and commercial risks.
    • Support the preparation and management of final accounts.
    • Maintain accurate cost-control and commercial records.

    Procurement

    • Assist with procurement activities for mining, construction and project requirements.
    • Prepare and issue RFQs and tender documentation.
    • Assist with sourcing and evaluating suppliers and contractors.
    • Analyse and compare supplier quotations and commercial proposals.
    • Assist with procurement and tender recommendations.
    • Prepare and manage purchase orders.
    • Monitor supplier performance and delivery requirements.
    • Identify cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities.

    Contract Administration

    • Assist with the administration of contractor and supplier agreements.
    • Review contractual terms, pricing and commercial conditions.
    • Monitor contractor performance and compliance.
    • Assist with variations, claims and change orders.
    • Support extensions of time and other commercial matters.
    • Identify and report contractual and commercial risks.

    Mining Project Support

    • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement, Finance, contractors and client representatives.
    • Provide QS and commercial support throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Conduct site visits to verify quantities, completed work and project progress.
    • Ensure contractor claims and costs are accurately verified.
    • Maintain project documentation and commercial records.
    • Provide commercial input into project planning and decision-making.
    • Support the project team with cost control, procurement and contract-related matters.

    Graphic Designer – Textile Industry

    • Our client, a well-established organisation within the textile industry, is currently recruiting for an experienced and creative Graphic Designer to join their growing team.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality visual content across print, digital and social media platforms, while ensuring consistency across the organisation's brand and marketing touchpoints.
    • The position will be based in Roodepoort, Gauteng and is a full-time, fully office-based position. The ideal candidate needs to be passionate about design, highly creative and able to translate concepts and ideas into engaging visual content that aligns with the company's brand identity.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Relevant qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design or a related field.
    • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a Graphic Design role.
    • Proven experience in developing creative content for print, digital and social media platforms.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of graphic design and creative work.

    Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly:

    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, colour theory, composition and visual hierarchy.
    • Experience creating artwork for print production, including brochures, flyers, catalogues, posters, promotional material and other marketing collateral.
    • Experience designing content for social media and digital platforms.
    • Strong understanding of brand guidelines and corporate identity.
    • Ability to work from creative briefs and translate concepts into compelling visual designs.
    • Excellent attention to detail and a strong eye for aesthetics.
    • Ability to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a creative team.
    • Textile, fashion, manufacturing or related industry experience would be advantageous.
    • Must be willing and able to work fully office-based in Roodepoort, Gauteng.

    • Develop high-quality graphic design concepts and creative artwork for a variety of applications.
    • Create visual content across print, digital and social media platforms.

    • Adapt existing artwork and designs for different formats, platforms and applications.
    • Maintain consistency across all visual communication and brand touchpoints.

    Digital & Social Media Design

    • Create engaging graphics and visual content for social media platforms.
    • Develop digital artwork for online campaigns, websites, email marketing and other digital channels.
    • Resize and adapt creative assets according to platform-specific requirements.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative content calendars and campaign material.
    • Ensure digital content remains consistent with the company's visual identity and brand guidelines.

    Print & Marketing Collateral

    • Design artwork for brochures, flyers, catalogues, posters, banners, presentations and other printed materials.
    • Prepare final artwork for print production according to required specifications.
    • Liaise with printers and external suppliers where required to ensure accurate production of final artwork.
    • Review proofs and ensure all artwork is produced accurately and to the required quality standards.
    • Maintain and organise digital artwork, design files and creative assets.

    Brand Management

    • Ensure all creative work adheres to established brand guidelines and corporate identity standards.
    • Maintain consistency in fonts, colours, imagery, layouts and overall visual presentation.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining brand assets and templates.
    • Identify opportunities to improve and strengthen the company's visual identity.
    • Ensure that all marketing and communication materials reflect a consistent and professional brand image.

    Creative Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Marketing, Sales and Management teams to understand creative requirements.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative creative ideas.
    • Provide creative input into marketing campaigns, promotions and new initiatives.
    • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to refine concepts and designs.

    • Ensure designs effectively communicate the features, quality and visual identity of textile products.
    • Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure product information and visual content are accurately represented.

    File & Asset Management

    • Maintain an organised library of design files, templates, images and other creative assets.
    • Ensure artwork is correctly formatted and prepared for its intended application.
    • Maintain version control of creative files and ensure final artwork is properly archived.
    • Ensure all design files are supplied in the correct formats and specifications for digital or print use.

    General
