    Qualifications and Skills

    Nursery Manager - Pietermaritzburg

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Oversee the running of the TWK Sunshine Seedling Services nurseries (Forestry, Clone, Vegetable and Ornamentals) on 4 sites
    • Involved in the strategic management of the nursery and its operations
    • Ensuring realistic budgets are set and achieved
    • Planning and coordinating production to meet orders and budgets
    • ISO9001 meetings and continual improvement
    • Ensure strict adherence to procedures
    • Capex investigation and application
    • Health and Safety and equity compliance
    • Overall management of staff
    • Human Resources oversight and working with the HR Department

    • Involved in the marketing of the various lines in the nurseries, attending trade days, shows, etc.
    • Problem shooting and assisting Managers with decision making

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Management degree or equivalent
    • 5 years' experience at a senior level and 10 years in operations
    • Nursery experience at a senior level (advantageous)
    • Experience managing a diverse group of people and communicating at all levels
    • Management in a corporate environment (advantageous)
    • Willingness to learn and keep up with nursery trends
    • Experience with Excel, Word and Outlook
    • Driver's license
    • Understanding of nursery or agricultural operations
    • Trilingual (English, Afrikaans and isiZulu)
    • Budget and financial understanding
    • Ability to multitask
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work under pressure

    Diesel Mechanic - Pietermaritzburg

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Reassemble agricultural equipment following repair; test operation; and make adjustments as necessary
    • Examine and listen to equipment, read inspection reports, and confer with customers to locate and diagnose malfunctions
    • Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools
    • Repair or replace defective parts, using hand tools, machines, welding equipment, grinders, or saws
    • Inspect or test parts to determine nature or cause of defects or malfunctions
    • Recommend product or component design improvements based on data and observations
    • Maintain test equipment in operational condition by performing routine maintenance or making minor repairs or adjustments as needed
    • Complete all documentation including worksheets, certificates, receipts and applying signatures as appropriate
    • Inspect equipment for safety prior to use, and perform necessary basic maintenance tasks

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12

    • Qualified Diesel Mechanic (red seal)
    • At least 3 years' experience as a qualified Diesel Mechanic
    • Experience on agricultural equipment
    • Experience on New Holland / Case tractors (advantageous)
    • Knowledge on precision planters and precision sprayers (advantageous)
    • Any related courses on the above (advantageous)
    • Willing to work overtime and travel
    • Valid drivers license

    Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Bag, box, wrap merchandise and prepare packages for shipment
    • Compute and record transactions
    • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
    • Sort, count and wrap notes and coins
    • Establish or identify prices of goods and tabulate bills using calculators, cash registers or optical scanners

    • Plan and coordinate the availability of stock to meet customer demands
    • Monitor stock levels, identifying potentil stock shortages and implementing measures to avoid stockouts
    • Conduct periodic stock checks to ensure accuracy and reconcile any disrepancies
    • Establish and maintain effective stock control procedures while adhering to company policies
    • Organize and maintain proper stock layout, ensuring efficient space utilization
    • Regularly review stock levels and recommend adjustments to optimize inventory levels
