    Finance Manager - Cape Town

    The job

    The Finance Manager ensures the organisation complies with accounting, tax and regulatory requirements in all countries of operations and is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and direction to the accounting team to ensure  day to day running of all internal finance processes. You help set and are responsible for executing the internal finance and financial risk strategy.

    Responsibilities - Will include but not limited to:

    • Financial Planning & Control: Develop guidelines for budgeting and financial processes, oversee cash management, and ensure the efficiency of month-end closures. Your role includes preparing consolidated financial statements that comply with IFRS.
    • Donor & Statutory Compliance: Implement the infrastructure, policies, and processes necessary for management and donor reporting compliance. Oversee country specific statutory reporting to ensure alignment with legal requirements and best practice.
    • Strategy & Risk Management: Play a crucial role in setting up legal and governance structures, considering tax implications and the financial/legal impact of new operational strategies.
    • Internal control framework: Develop a comprehensive internal control framework, document policies and procedures, and train staff accordingly to minimize risks and enhance compliance.
    • Audit & Compliance: Lead audit processes, ensuring timely and effective follow-up on audit conclusions and recommendations. Manage the statutory and internal calendar for the group and work closely with the risk team to mitigate operational and finance risks.
    • Operational Leadership: Review payments and controller entries, approve the finance budget, and oversee time allocations. Lead and develop your team by mentoring, fostering a positive work environment, and ensuring continuous personal and professional growth.

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
    • Professional certification such as CA(SA) is mandatory.
    • At least 6 years of proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and planning within a dynamic and complex environment is required.
    • Experience in a non-profit organization, including donor compliance and statutory reporting, is highly desirable.
    • Experience working in international organization finance operations is mandatory.
    • Familiarity with IFRS and experience in preparing financial statements for diverse legal entities are required.
    • Strong proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills. Knowledge of ERP systems and familiarity with financial regulations and reporting requirements on a global scale are necessary. Ability to develop and oversee financial systems and controls that comply with best practices is essential.
    • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing a team are required.

    New Business Development Lead (Fundraising)

    The Job 

    As an NBD Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring funding for current and future projects by developing existing and new funding opportunities. Your contribution will enable Tiko to reach its ambitious goals for growth.

    Key responsibilities will include: 

    • Monitor grant opportunities and conduct pipeline forecasting and donor surveillance to track the release of procurements.  
    • Support the development of a strong prospect and pipeline of priority donors, keeping abreast of the latest developments within the donor and partner landscape. 
    • Support scoping and intelligence gathering efforts to ensure we are well positioned and have secured the right partnerships for priority bids in the pipeline. 
    • Facilitate strategic decision making on donor funding and partnership opportunities to pursue.
    • Drive proposal development, fully owning and coordinating the process— from creating buy-in around responsibilities and timelines, motivating and organizing people, guiding players through every step in the proposal process, gathering inputs from technical leads, working with finance teams on budget development, creating supplementary materials, to rolling up your sleeves to write proposals and submit them. 
    • Hone systems, by documenting and implementing business processes, procedures, and templates to improve the workflow for business development, and supporting the roll out of CRM tools such as Salesforce.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum Bachelor's degree required 
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience with fundraising, business development, proposal management, and relationship management within the context of non-profit organisations.
    • Experience in international development or global health.
    • You have a proven track record in successfully securing a minimum of $ 1 million per year from a diversity of major donors, corporations (especially tech-related ones), individual philanthropists and foundations. In securing this funding, you can prove you were responsible for initiating the leads as well as the strategic development of opportunities. 
    • A proven personal network with SRH donors, both private and government as well as a proven track record in revenue-generation from a wide variety of sources including investors/ investment funds, corporations, and foundations.
    • Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel internationally.
    • You are currently based in South Africa.

    Executive Assistant

    The job

    As the Executive Assistant to the C-suite, you will be integral to the leadership of our dynamic, global non-profit. Your role includes streamlining C-suite operations through meticulous management of administrative tasks and the CEO's logistics. You will handle responsibilities such as contract signing, approvals, work organization, and travel arrangements to facilitate smooth executive journeys. Your tasks will also encompass desk research on pertinent topics, document analysis and synthesis, participation in webinars, and minute-taking. A strategic thinker, you will act as the primary liaison among internal stakeholders, enhancing communication with the C-suite.

    Responsibilities - Will include but not limited to:

    • Efficiently manage and coordinate the C-Suite’s diary, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements. 
    • Attend and take charge of all logistics for board meetings. Responsibilities include preparing agendas, distributing necessary materials in advance, and ensuring optimal setups for virtual and in-person engagements. Additionally, document proceeding by writing up minutes and maintaining meticulous records to support effective governance.
    • Oversee the planning and execution of logistics of conferences and special events. This involves coordinating venues, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring all logistical aspects are handled seamlessly to facilitate successful events,
    • Efficiently manage and reconcile the C-Suite's credit card statements, quotations, purchase requisitions, expense claims, payments, and timesheets. 
    • Support governance processes by preparing necessary documents for board resolutions and the establishment of new entities.
    • Facilitate and execute Tiko’s internal communications while coordinating local, international, and virtual meetings and conferences.
    • Serve as the go-to coordinator for all administrative activities in the Cape Town office, and act as the primary liaison for local administrative needs
    • Coordinate local administrative activities and facilitate collaboration among the local admin team as necessary, ensuring effective response to any issues that arise

    You are a tech-savvy individual with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse audiences both in writing and in speech. Your superb organizational and time management abilities enable you to meet deadlines consistently.     Requirements:

    • At least 10y in executive support roles, with at least 8 years in a C-suite level assistant role, preferably within a global or extensively networked non-profit or corporate environment.
    • Proven experience in managing international travel logistics and maintaining calendar across multiple time zones for senior executives, demonstrating high-level problem solving and organisational skills.
    • In-deth knowledge of administrative processes inducing advanced expense reporting system and executive-level document preparation.
    • Master in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Fluent in English with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
