    Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Operations – Cape Town

    Job Description

    • We are looking for an experienced, professional and future-fit HRBP to join our Human Resources team to collaborate and support the Operations team in the Cape Town region.

    Senior Pattern Maker - Green Thread

    Purpose

    • Pattern Maker plays a critical role in the garment production process by transforming design concepts into technical patterns that can be used for garment production. This role involves working closely with designers, garment technologists, and the production team to create accurate, efficient, and scalable patterns. The Pattern Maker ensures that patterns reflect the original design vision while also considering practical production requirements such as fabric constraints, garment fit, and cost-effectiveness.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Pattern Creation and Development:

    • Develop accurate patterns from garment sketches or technical drawings, ensuring the correct fit, proportion, and style.
    • Responsible for preparing the completed, detailed pattern from the sketch by using the computer pattern designing package.
    • Create patterns for a variety of garment types, such as casual wear, formal wear, outerwear, and activewear, depending on the product range of the leisure design centre.
    • Ensure that all patterns are suitable for mass production and meet the brand’s design standards.

    Prototype and Sample Creation:

    • Work closely with the design team to create initial samples or prototypes for new garments.
    • Review and adjust patterns as necessary based on fit sessions, feedback from designers, or testing.

    Pattern Alterations:

    • Modify patterns based on the fit and functional requirements during the prototype fitting sessions.
    • Adjust patterns to ensure garment functionality, such as ease of movement or suitability for specific fabric types.

    Collaboration with Designers and Technologists:

    • Liaise with designers to ensure that the final pattern aligns with their creative vision while considering the technical aspects of production.

    Documentation and Record Keeping:

    • Maintain accurate records of pattern designs, modifications, and production instructions.

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Stay updated with the latest trends and technological advancements in pattern making, including CAD software and sustainable production techniques.
    • Participate in training or professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge of pattern-making technologies. 

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

    • Degree or diploma in Fashion, Pattern Making, Garment Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
    • Proven 5 - 10 years' experience as a Pattern Maker or Pattern Cutter, particularly within a garment manufacturing or retail design environment.
    • Experience with various garment types, fabrics, and styles is essential.
    • Strong knowledge of pattern-making techniques, including both manual and digital (CAD) methods.
    • Gerber system and 3D pattern making experience
    • Proficiency with pattern-making software (e.g., Gerber system and 3D pattern making knowledge, Lectra, or Optitex).
    • Strong understanding of grading techniques for different sizes.
    • In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and garment fitting principles.
    • Familiarity with fit standards, industry regulations, and garment specification requirements.

    Customer Insights & Loyalty Analyst

    Purpose of the Role

    • The Loyalty & Customer Insights Analyst supports the Rewards programme by analysing customer and transactional data to generate insights that improve customer retention, engagement, and programme effectiveness. The role builds and maintains dashboards and reports, translates analytics into actionable strategies, and collaborates with multiple teams to enable data-driven decision-making across Cape Union Mart, Poetry, and Old Khaki.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Data Collection & Analysis

    • Extract, clean, and analyse large volumes of customer and sales data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations in customer behaviour and loyalty.
    • Support ongoing measurement of key loyalty metrics such as repeat purchase, churn, and customer lifetime value.
    • Ensure data integrity, governance, and POPIA compliance across all datasets.

    Reporting & Visualisation

    • Develop and maintain Power BI / Oracle Retail Insights dashboards and SQL-driven reports that track programme and customer performance.
    • Present KPIs and trends to business stakeholders in a clear, visual, and actionable format.
    • Continuously improve dashboard automation and accuracy in partnership with the BI team.

    Insights & Recommendations

    • Translate complex analytical findings into simple, commercially relevant insights.
    • Highlight key drivers of loyalty, retention, and customer value; recommend actions to improve performance.
    • Support ongoing measurement of key customer and loyalty metrics including active customers, frequency, retention, churn, reactivation, customer lifetime value, loyalty sales mix, redemption behaviour and tier migration.

    Segmentation & Personalisation

    • Assist with developing and maintaining customer segmentation frameworks.
    • Support personalised communication strategies through data-driven targeting and audience selection.
    • Work with Marketing and CRM teams to refine engagement and reward mechanics.

    Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

    • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, BI, and Operations) to deliver consistent loyalty reporting and insight.
    • Provide ad hoc analyses to support business reviews, campaign proposals, and programme enhancements.
    • Evaluate ROI and commercial effectiveness of loyalty campaigns, promotions and partner initiatives.

    Qualifications & Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Science (Information Systems), Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
    • 2 – 4 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or CRM analytics (preferably within retail, financial services or loyalty programme environment).

    Skills:

    • Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases. 
    • Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView).
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving ability.
