    Financial Controller

    Purpose and role in the business:

    • The Financial Controller is responsible for managing all finance and accounting operations, coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and preparing monthly financial statements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the Sales and Accounts Receivable function
    • Manage stock at port reporting
    • Ensure integrity of the General Ledger accounts for allocated accounts
    • Payroll liabilities oversight
    • Manage the implementation, maintenance, and assessment of internal controls
    • Support with internal and external audits
    • Indirect taxes – VAT and diesel rebates
    • Managing Bank and Cash
    • Head Office budgeting and forecasting
    • Head Office monthly reporting and variance explanations
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure quality control over financial transactions
    • Approve HO purchase requisitions
    • ERP improvements and automation initiatives
    • Additional controller duties as necessary

    Job Requirements
    Minimum Requirements / Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
    • Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Honours in Accounting/Finance or equivalent) advantageous.
    • Professional accounting designation such as CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA preferred.
    • Minimum 5–8 years relevant experience in financial management, reporting, and control.
    • Experience in the mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry sector (preferably within a mining operation) is highly advantageous.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
    • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills.
    • Knowledge of IFRS and applicable tax legislation (VAT, diesel rebate, etc.).

    Technical / Financial Skills:

    • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS).
    • Ability to prepare and analyse budgets, forecasts, and monthly management accounts.
    • Proven experience in managing general ledger, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
    • Knowledge of payroll accounting, tax compliance, and audit procedures.
    • Experience with internal controls, process improvement, and risk management.
    • Solid understanding of cost control and variance analysis.

    Analytical and Strategic Skills:

    • Strong financial acumen with attention to detail.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
    • Strategic thinking for aligning financial management with organizational goals.

    Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

    • Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams.

    Payroll Delivery Consultant

    Job Description

    • Deliver end-to-end outsourced payroll services to a portfolio of clients using PaySpace. Ensure full compliance with South African payroll legislation and internal quality standards, while meeting service-level agreements (SLAs). The role demands a strong technical understanding of PaySpace, excellent client service capabilities, and a proven ability to manage payrolls across multiple industries and pay cycles in a high-volume BPO environment.

    Job Requirements
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage and process multiple client payrolls on PaySpace, including full monthly, fortnightly, and weekly cycles.
    • Capture and audit all payroll input such as new hires, terminations, variable earnings/deductions, and changes.
    • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of payroll outputs, including payslips, reports, statutory declarations, and third-party payments.
    • Responsible for disbursement of all payroll EFT / transfers.
    • Manage tax year-end processes, IRP5 reconciliations, and submission via PaySpace and SARS eFiling.
    • Perform reconciliations for payroll accounts and statutory submissions (UIF, PAYE, SDL, COIDA).
    • Ensure clients’ compliance with relevant legislation, including BCEA, SARS regulations, and statutory deadlines.
    • Handle client queries effectively, provide support on payroll compliance, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
    • Participate in onboarding and transitioning new clients onto the PaySpace platform.
    • Liaise with third parties (SARS, Department of Labour, financial institutions) on client matters.
    • Support internal process improvements and ensure best practices are followed for BPO payroll delivery.
    • Follow up and support resolution of outstanding payroll-related debtors.
    • Obtain SARS directives, where applicable.
    • Handle administration and payroll queries.
    • Responsible for client satisfaction and client retention.
    • Responsible for ensuring all outstanding debtors in respect of payroll portfolio are collected.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

    • Matric 
    • PaySpace Certification (Essential)
    • Diploma/Degree in Payroll Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
    • 3 + years of payroll experience/administration.
    • Minimum 3 years of full-function payroll experience in a BPO or shared services environment (will be to your advantage).
    • Demonstrated experience using PaySpace to manage multiple client payrolls.
    • Knowledge of multi-country payroll in Africa (advantageous).
    • 3 + years of general payroll experience.

    • Advanced knowledge of PaySpace payroll software (multi-company functionality, batch uploads, reporting)
    • Microsoft word, Excel experience
    • Good knowledge of SARS E@syfile and E-filing
