    Jnr Electrical Engineer

    What needs to be done?

    • Review Client's technical documentation and requirements.
    • Control of subcontracted discipline engineering documents.
    • Define engineering requirements.
    • Prepare the technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions and performs the technical evaluations.
    • Provide technical support to the project group.
    • Optimize instrument systems ensuring minimal cost and simplification in compliance with the required performance.
    • Prepare specifications for instruments, systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and installation.
    • Prepare functional analysis (control, ESD, F&G).
    • Implement instrument detail design on P&ID's.
    • Prepare instrument data sheets and loop diagrams.
    • Prepare instrument material take-off.
    • Implement detail engineering activities (layouts, routings, supports...).
    • Perform the F.A.T.

    What do you need to bring?

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Degree in Electrical Engineering or electro-mechanics.
    • Experience in an instrumentation and project management environment
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in MS Office with advanced MS Excel.
    • Attention to detail and good problem solving skills.

    Lead Alignment & Balancing Technician

    What needs to be done?

    • Visit customer sites to coordinate balancing or alignment, identify the cause of the problem, rectify on site if possible or advice further action to be taken to ensure customer production losses are minimised.
    • Assisting balancing and Alignment technician on site with technical support.
    • Compile reports after each completed assignment (according to procedure, timeous). Submit reports to Howden site supervisors and send copy to head office.
    • Issue certificates of jobs completed.
    • Tracking and managing of leave forms, ensure submission of time sheets and vehicle log sheets of subordinates.
    • Tracking and managing of hours of balancing and alignment technicians and contractors.
    • Tracking and log-in of balance weights.
    • Ensure sufficient stock of shims and assorted balancing weights: Monitor stock levels and order if required.
    • Ensure that equipment are timeously calibrated in accordance with procedure.
    • At all times adhere to procedures, instructions, and quality and safety standards.
    • Balancing and Alignment on site as and when required.
    • Check new installations and alignment of equipment. Start machinery, check vibrations and temperatures and run the fan for a test period. Complete a commissioning report and take over Certificate for contract closures.

    What do you need to bring?

    • Grade 12
    • N4 Mechanical Engineering
    • Certified In-field balancing technician
    • Certified alignment technician
    • 5 years’ experience in balancing of rotating machinery.
    • Vibration analyses specialised courses
    • Must be computer literate.
    • Supervisor skill will be an advantage
    • Drivers licence

    Site Manager GO

    What needs to be done?

    • Manage projects on time as agreed with Customer.
    • Manage site administration consisting of the following to ensure project is completed as per agreement between Howden and customer: Communicate with clients, manage and monitor the progress of the job for sign off; assist with labor requirements, completion of the job to the quality standard ,Production orders, scope of work for a job and compile a Data book that contains various reports and information which forms the specifications for the Site Supervisor to use to manage the job on site.
    • Accountable for HR issues on the site (grievances, disciplinary and motivation of staff)
    • Appointed site 16.2, accountable for all safety regulations and site safety file requirements are applied to ensure the wellbeing of Howden workers.
    • Responsible for the management of the maintenance/shutdown crews on maintenance sites to ensure work is done on time, according to the hours allocated and that the customer is kept informed of any critical items on the plant.
    • Do customer visits and attend meetings with existing customers and new customers to generate new work for Howden Power.
    • Evaluate Labour force on site to assist with setting up of training of people.
    • SOX compliance – Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley

    What do you need to bring?

    • Qualified artisan preferably a Fitter, Boilermaker or Welder
    • 5 years’ experience of managing Supervisors & Artisans on sites
    • 3 Years in Technical Managerial capacity
    • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
    • Computer Literacy
    • Valid Driver’s Licence
    • Knowledge of NEC 3 contract
    • Quality and Safety Training (Formal Training).
