    Sales Manager, Modderfontein

    As a Sales Manager, you will be a part of the Industrial Automation Business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. Reporting to Local Business Unit Manager, you will be part of developing and execution of a sales strategy for the Process Industries Local Business Line in order to meet the qualitative and quantitative sales targets for both the Systems and Service Sectors within the industries that the LBL serves. Including the proactive leading, development and support of the sales organization in order to exceed the sales targets and guarantee client satisfaction.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Sales Strategy: Creating plans and implements a sales strategy, and strategic sales and business development initiatives, in alignment with the local and global strategy Achieves sales targets in respect of both budgets and sales efficiency within the Pulp and Paper, Metals, Cement, Mining and food and beverage Industries, from both a Systems and Service perspective.
    • Sales Targets: Establishing sales targets and ensures sales achievement through regular oversight and definition and implementation of improvement plans as needed. As sales manager, your involvement through either leading or supporting key pursuits is crucial and will be considered a major KPI.
    • Customer acquisition: Identifying opportunities at existing and potential new customers within Sub-Saharan region, determines plans for acquisition and allocates resources.
    • Information sharing: Coordinating the flow of information for sales activities and transactions, including leads, billings, orders, contracts, etc. and evaluates data to ensure achievement of goals. Monitoring and provides reports to the Marketing and Sales organization on market intelligence.
    • Customer relations: Supporting the development of strong relationships with key customers. Builds and maintains strong relationships with key decision makers. Ensuring efficient marketing communications.
    • Volume, profit and cost: Ensuring achievement of sales volume by setting appropriate sales prices and margins for all sales proposals. Participating in the negotiations of key contracts.
    • Risk: Monitoring client financial status and reports any changes regarding risk to relevant internal partner teams. Identifies and manages potential risks relating to contract agreements across customers/channels.

    Your background

    • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or tertiary qualification.
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation systems.
    • Experience in sales projects with in Mining or Pulp and Paper or Metals Industries.
    • Experience in Sales Management experience.

    Continuous Improvement Specialist, Modderfontein

Offerings encompass digital and connected innovations for low- and medium-voltage, including EV infrastructure, solar inverters, modular substations, distribution automation, power protection, wiring accessories, switchgear, enclosures, cabling, sensing and control.
    You will be working as Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will be a part of the Electrification business for Distribution Solutions Business line based in Modderfontein, South Africa. Reporting to Operations Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a continuous improvement culture in ABB focusing on Customer & Quality by deploying a set of CI competencies, utilizing Lean Six Sigma as the CI methodology, and creating transparency to monitor progress, within the area of responsibility, typically Continuous Improvement projects in the local organization as per targets and priorities set by the Operations manager and or Mastering multiple GB Projects.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Continuous Improvement: Executing the local approach to continuous improvement and strategy deployment via L6S. Facilitating best practice sharing within your location. Working in cross functional teams to execute the strategy and escalate as necessary to remove roadblocks.
    • Subject Matter Expertise: Through project and training, identify key team member in each function to support in execution of projects within the location. Encouraging key individuals to further develop skills inL6S and advocate for them if projects come up that need their skillset.
    • Business Partnership: Understanding the organizations vision, objectives and improvement needs and suggest projects, improvement actions and L6S tools to achieve objectives.
    • Implementation Resources: Be a resource for our customers’ continuous improvement efforts and stay there until the work can be sustained by their own operation. Facilitating coordination of resources machines or people or functions as necessary to achieve goals.
    • Performance Transparency & Improvement: Providing organization-wide visibility of the current portfolio of continuous improvement efforts, track via metrics or KPIs progress and value from these efforts in order to help decision makers allocate resources and recognize success, with special focus on operational cost reduction.
    • Capability Building: Providing training, coaching and facilitation support to individuals and teams so that they are better equipped to drive their improvement efforts for themselves.To drive standardization and consistency within the L6S project and to make sure the knowledge is well transferred within the GB community.
    • Change Management: Drive transformational projects, within the scope of responsibility, with a hands-on ´Gemba´ and problem solving approach.
    • Safety and Integrity: Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

    Your background

    • A degree or national diploma in Industrial Engineering.
    • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Industrial Engineering being operations based.
    • Required experience in inventory, material, and supplier management.
    • Required Industrial Engineering experience in Manufacturing of electrical equipment.
