An Engineering and Construction company based in Rivonia, Johannesburg, is looking to employ a Structural EngineerPiping/Project Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Experience:

• 4- 6 years structural engineering experience
• MUST have experience in the design and inspections of steel and concrete support structures and civil foundations.
• Being involved with the complete procurement process from tendering, adjudication supplier inspection and commissioning is essential.
• Have experience working with relevant health and safety as well as technical design standards.

Qualifications:

• Only BSc.Eng (Civil/Structural Engineeering) or B.Eng (Civil/Structural Engineering) as a minimum will be considered.
• Candidate MUST be a registered professional engineer(Pr.Eng) or in the process of registration.

Role Overview

Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling projects elements

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and approval of steel and concrete structures systems working closely with plant design team.
• Interpret and implement detailed design specfication and design codes.
• Support construction team with the implementation of the design from a fabrication and construction point of view.
• Drive quality system to ensure client and legislative compliance.
• Manage complete procurement process of all structural items from specification through to commissioning.
• Ensure Quality is specified and managed during the procurement and installation phases.
• Manage and ensure integration of Structures and Civils on the project specifically with regards to Piping, Equipment, Electrical and C&I interfaces.
• Must be able to manage each of the packages according to Cost, Schedule and Quality objectives.
• Must be able to deputise as the Engineering Manager if required.
• Must be hands-on and willing to proactively resolve civil and structural scope in design office, manufacturing facilities and construction site.
• Developing periodic reports detailing progress of works.

• Engineering, Procurement and Construction(EPC/EPCM) experience is a MUST.
• Being involved with the complete procurement process from tendering, adjudication supplier inspection and commissioning is essential.
• Have experience working with relevant health and safety as well as technical design standards.

Qualifications:

• Only BSc.Eng (Mechanical Engineeering) or B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering) as a minimum will be considered.
• Candidate MUST be a registered professional engineer(Pr.Eng) or in the process of registration.

• Drive quality system to ensure piping and mechanical system compliance.
• Develop Equipment (Vessels, Tanks, Rotating and Piping) specifications by studying applicable design codes and standards, customer requirements and performance standards; completing technical studies and preparing cost estimates.
• Manage complete procurement process of all mechanical items from specification through to commissioning.
• Ensure Quality of equipment is specified and managed during the procurement and installation phases.
• Manage and ensure integration of piping and equipment on the project specifically with regards to Civil, Structural, Electrical and C&I interfaces.
• Must be able to manage each of the packages according to Cost, Schedule and Quality objectives.
• Must be able to deputise as the Project Manager if required.
• Must be hands-on and willing to proactively resolve mechanical/piping scope in design office, manufacturing facilities and construction site.
