    Maintenance Manager - Electrical - Mpumalanga

    As a Maintenance Manager - Electrical, you will be responsible for/to: 

    • Participate in developing and executing the Mill maintenance and improvement strategy to ensure equipment availability and efficiency.
    • Accountable to provide Mill wide service in engineering installation, maintenance plan, and fault finding on DCS, QCS, and VSD Drives.
    • Accountable for the integrity of the protection on the 132kV yard and 11kV electrical power reticulation system.
    • Accountable for Mill wide engineering, fault-finding, and maintenance plans on all hydraulic installations.
    • Accountable for control of instrument valve repairs, during normal Mill operations and Mill shutdowns (Instrument Valve Workshop).
    • Accountable for Mill wide air-conditioning maintenance and installation.
    • Accountable for the Main Electrical Workshop.
    • Accountable for the development and maintenance of the relevant Mill document reliability and standards.
    • Apply Sappi standard project management and process standards for capital projects and ensure sound change management practices are used for all changes to the plant.
    • Accountable for Mill-wide identification of reliability risks, improvement programs, and implementation.
    • Accountable for Mill wide electrical engineering support for Capex and Renewal project implementation.
    • Responsible for the identification and management of relevant major upgrade projects.
    • Represent the Mill in regional standardisation processes.
    • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with legal regulations and mill procedures (e.g. OHS Act, ISO systems)
    • Effectively direct electrical engineering and project team members, in terms of performance management, talent management, goal alignment, career development, and learning.
    • Compile and implement annual (electrical budget) and participate in long-term (5-year plan) financial business plans to execute the maintenance and improvement strategy.

    What are we looking for?

    • 4 Year B degree in Sciences or Engineering or National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering (heavy current), with Recognition of Previous Learning or experience
    • Government Certificate of Competence (Factories)
    • Relevant management qualification 
    • Registration as a professional engineer would be advantageous
    • Relevant experience 8-10 years
    • Pulp and Paper Industry experience advantageous

    Artisan Assistant - Boilermaker (Shalaamboot)

    As an Artisan Assistant - Boilermaker, you will be responsible for:

    • Perform maintenance, repair and overhauling of equipment.
    • Obtain licence as “authorised workman” as per Sappi lock out procedure and assist production personnel with isolation process where required.
    • Comply with legislation - safe handling of, identifying, sorting and disposal of waste in correct waste streams.
    • Correct selection and use of tools for the job and maintenance there-of.
    • Obtain licences for various mobile equipment as found on Ngodwana Mill.
    • Assist Artisans with breakdowns and opportunity maintenance and perform tasks as per competency level.
    • Move and transport of equipment in the workplace as required.
    • Ensure a safe working environment with the development of safety and housekeeping strategies.
    • Ensure that the section complies in all respects with the relevant statutory requirements.

    Helper - Rigging (Ngodwana)

    As a Helper - Rigging, you will be responsible for:

    • Assisting Riggers with breakdowns and opportunity maintenance.
    • Taking out work permits according to the Sappi policy.
    • Perform 60 second risk assessment as per Sappi policy.
    • Good housekeeping.
    • Working overtime and doing standby.
    • Communication with riggers/artisans during rigging operations.
    • Create a safe work environment by identifying and managing risks associated with a task to be performed.
    • Move and transport equipment in workplace.
    • Execute assigned scheduled and / or planned maintenance tasks.

    These responsibilities include assisting Riggers with performing maintenance tasks (not limited to):

    • Lifting equipment inspections including assisting the riggers with colour coding.
    • Provide rigging assistance on all work executed Mill wide by operating lift trucks and/or tractor.
    • Daily inspections and autonomous maintenance on rigging section vehicles e.g. lubrication of tractor etc.
    • Housekeeping in rigger workshop, rigger yard, lay-down area and salvage/storage yards.
    • Moving equipment from workshop to stores after equipment repairs.
    • Rigging assistance when required for loading and off-loading of equipment going to and coming from vendors.
    • Operate overhead cranes, tractors, skyjacks, forklifts, etc. once licensed and competent.
    • Obtain Licences for various mobile equipment as found on Ngodwana Mill site.
    • Work shifts (day and night shift) as required from time to time.
    • Clean and safe lifting machines and lifting equipment.  

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Relevant Grade 12 / Matric / N3 with Mathematics and Science.
    • Previous Rigging experience.
    • Valid drivers licence.

    SAP & Maintenance Systems Specialist - Umkomaas

    As a SAP and Maintenance Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for:

    • Review current SAP PM, PS & IM processes and identify problem areas, inefficiencies and control weaknesses. Proactively identify improvement opportunities.
    • Provide SAP PM, PS & IM subject matter input and facilitate the maintenance and development of these existing, improved and future business processes.
    • Investigate and implement new technology solutions that will enhance these business processes.
    • Participate in user acceptance testing. Provide detailed feedback on whether the developed solution meets the documented business requirements.
    • Review problem logs and identify the root causes of repetitive business issues.
    • Development and updating of the Regional Maintenance Policy, SAP Plant Maintenance and Projects System business processes.
    • Develop incumbents in Project Management, SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) & Project Systems (PS) to ensure that users are competent and that they effectively utilise the system. This includes system enhancements due to SAP System upgrades or new reports developed.
    • Responsible for auditing the PS and Investment Module (IM) prior to year-end and guiding data cleanup in preparation for the new Capex, Renewal and Shut Budgets loaded into the Investment Module. Ensure Maintenance and reporting of Investment Management Budgets at Financial Year end and approved changes during the year are captured.
    • Responsible for the management of the SAP IM Module.
    • Provide SAP PS System Data in support of Regional Spend per project and Investment Reason.
    • Initiates the SAP PS Steering committee meeting for the sharing and development of PS Methodologies and Reports both PS and integration with PM.
    • Undertake RIS Projects as required which enhance Business Security and effectiveness for the PM,PS and IM Modules.
    • Maintain SAP PM and PS system configuration/integrity.
    • Physical audits/health checks on the SAP PM and PS systems

    What are we looking for?

    • National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (S4 or N6) as a minimum requirement.
    • BEng/BSc/BTech Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous
    • Must have at least 10 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer
    • Plant Maintenance & Project Management experience
    • A minimum of ten (10) years experience in SAP PM and working knowledge of SAP PS and IM
