Support RMC operations
- Control and link the relevant permissions to the ATM Custodian Profiles on the system.
- Verify that allocated vehicles are visible and tracking on the monitoring system.
- Follow and monitor the SBV Fleet route, and make sure it adheres to scheduled service points and times and report any non-responsive fleet to the Centre.
- Remotely activate the Vehicle Protection Unit on new generation vehicles, as per escalation process.
- Communicate with Senior Management in the event of an emergency.
- Gather and report Early Warning Intelligence (EWI) to Supervisors for escalation
- Provide ad hoc support in maintaining the OTC System in the absence of the Device Administrator.
- Send an updated report to the Device Administrator informing them of the new sites loaded.
- Managing overall risk profiles for each run from start to end and apply mitigation/disruptive strategy.
- Maintains online communication platforms with all relevant stakeholders regarding risk factors and threats to SBV.
Monitor and track systems, alarms, and incidents in accordance with assigned responsibilities
- Track and monitor in accordance with allocated responsibilities, using the appropriate systems, and follow the appropriate escalation processes.
- Maintain regular system updates and ensure that the systems are operating optimally and properly.
- identify and report any SOP transgressions, emergencies or threats identified in accordance with escalation processes or emergency procedures.
- Verify alarm events with relevant third parties and act in accordance with agreed-upon procedures.
- Escalate any faults with the alarms and provide a status report to the applicable party
Generate and provide system codes and exercise remote access control
- Responsible for generating and providing system codes and exercising remote access control of allocated assets.
- Update system with relevant information required for issuing codes.
- Confirm and verify the information received from the applicable stakeholders and complete the relevant security checks prior to issuing codes.
Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal stakeholders (i.e. Local Control Room, Risk Departments and Operations, SBV - Tactical Support Officers and National Police and Industry Joint Operations Centers).
- Inform the IT department of any network-related errors at the Centre.
- Promote and maintain an Early Warning Intelligence Network in order to mitigate potential threats in a proactive manner.
- Establish and maintain external stakeholder relationships with emergency services e.g. SAPS, SABRIC etc.
- Identify and escalate transgressions, system failures, and faulty CCTV in accordance with the SOPs and assist with remediation or preventative measures.
- Investigate and escalate any faults with the alarms or equipment to the stakeholders.
Manage the relevant systems within the operating environment
- Manage the users on the systems and check that the users have the functions that are required.
- Troubleshoot to resolve any system errors, before escalating to IT or Service Providers.
- Download footage for the required system to assist with any investigation and distribute accordingly.
- Remotely activate the Vehicle Protection Unit on SBV Assets, in accordance with the escalation process.
- Assist the Line Manager and project managers with identifying and testing new technology.
- Test systems on a regular basis and check that they are updated accordingly.

Identify operational methods and processes
- Analyse existing operational workflows to identify inefficiencies, redundancies and improvement opportunities through the effective use of relevant tools.
- Effective and correct utilization of process mapping and documentation tools (e.g. Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) to identify, define and document the existing and proposed operational methods and processes to increase efficiencies, reduce costs and contribute to revenue opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops (Joint Application Design) with relevant stakeholders to gather information to determine the business requirements. Description
Conduct work study on SBV processes and tasks
- Analyse, and evaluate current and to-be operational processes at centres using data driven methodologies such as but not limited to time and motion studies, work sampling etc.
- Benchmark current performance in comparison to centres nationally and against industry standards as well as recommend improvements
- Investigate data abnormalities and discrepancies to identify root causes, implementing the necessary corrections and adjustments to align with operational realities.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions.
Collate work study data into common tasks and processes
- Consolidate and categorize work/time study data to establish standardized tasks and processes.
- Present the work/time study results to relevant stakeholders and address queries.
- Develop task libraries and process templates for operational consistency.
- Adherence to Process Architecture and quality standards of process designs.

- Identify areas of waste, inefficiencies and bottlenecks within the operations
- Identify underutilisation of facilities, infrastructure and resources and develop strategies in conjunction with relevant stakeholders to maximise their use.
Prepare and deliver relevant reports
- Prepare and deliver reports on process performance, operational efficiency and KPIs to relevant stakeholders.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on performance data, audits and operational reviews.
- Track and report on the status of process improvement initiatives and their impact to Operations.
