Purpose of the job

The Developer is tasked to deliver automations to drive successful adoption of automation. In addition to building automations, the Developer will also own deliverables across the automation journey to ensure automation use cases and scenarios are properly built and documented.

Key Responsibilities

• Understands all the stages of an Automation journey and describes the role of the RPA Developer in each stage.
• Designs and implements automation solutions from business and technical requirements. Partners with Business Analysts to define the manual rules used to govern the process, and then translating those rules into automated commands.
• Responsible for scripting and coding in UiPath to build automation, and for creating technical documentation following best practices.
• Rigorously execute automation testing, including unit testing, user acceptance testing, and bug fixes.
• Continues to participate in trainings to further enhance skills and abilities, including tools and best practices.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc.
• 2-4 years of experience with software development and/or RPA technologies.
• Experience working with UI Path and Power Platforms such as Power Automate, Power Apps and Power BI.
• Experience in .NET, HTML, JavaScript, and advanced automation tools (OCR, IDP, AI/ML) preferred.
• Ability to break down business problems into logical tasks and think creatively.
• Ability to perform code analysis to understand how code is implemented.
• Cross-functional business and application knowledge.
• A self-starter that can take a product problem and develop a working technical solution. 
• Strong understanding of software development best practices. 
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of actuarial data sources.
• Identify opportunities for improved data use and more insightful actuarial analysis.
• Manage quarterly and year-end solvency capital requirements.
• Produce required QRTs and financial reporting outputs.
• Develop and embed an effective capital management framework.
• Provide recommendations on capital optimisation related to reinsurance, investment, and business strategy
• Lead the calculation of Solvency II risk margins and IFRS17 risk adjustment.

Other:

• Mentor and manage team members, ensuring quality work.
• Automate processes for data preparation, reporting, and visualisation.
• Support reinsurer requests and maintain professional qualifications.

You Will Be:

• Studying towards a Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent actuarial exams.
• Significant non-life capital modelling experience.
• Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, autonomous, and able to deputize for the Head of Capital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to quarterly and year-end solvency capital requirement calculations.
• Contribute to the production of QRTs and outputs for financial reporting.
• Assist in developing an effective capital management framework, including economic capital modelling and risk optimisation.
• Contribute to quarterly and year-end reserving calculations.
• Monitor insurance schemes, including monthly loss ratio analysis.
• Develop and embed processes to ensure factor reserves and earning patterns are robust.
• Implement and embed the use of actuarial software within the reserving process.

Other Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the production of documented actuarial outputs for sign-off by the Chief Actuary and relevant committees.
• Automate processes for data preparation, transformation, and reporting.
• Support reinsurer requests for data and respond promptly.
• Maintain professional qualifications and fulfill CPD requirements.

Qualifications:

• Studying towards a Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent actuarial exams.
• Significant non-life insurance modeling experience.
• Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, autonomous, and able to deputize for their manager when required.
