This is a leadership role where you will own the technology, maintenance, process and setting for the equipment for the line. You will possess deep expertise and will be viewed as the technology expert of the line/s.
How you will contribute
You will
- Partner & enable the line leader(s) to deliver the SQCDSM targets-Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability & Morale for the lines, to ensure Process stability; Participate in the DMS- Daily Management systems meetings at the shift and line level
- Own the technology and process and centerline settings for the equipment and process and has deep technical mastery of the process and equipment; own the Progressive maintenance systems and work processes and the Progressive Maintenance Key Performance Indicators for the line/s along with Centerline Management systems; owns the Repairs & Maintenance budget of the line
- Develop, own and execute the line/s preventive and time-based maintenance systems and plans and builds capability of the team to execute themselves; Build (spends at least 50% of time) technical and maintenance skills of the technicians working in the shifts, so that they are able to operate and maintain their equipment themselves; be part of the PM Pillar, own all PM systems and work process at the line level and lead some of them at the department level
- Partner with the Asset and Reliability team for system improvement and execution of special maintenance tasks; be responsible for Change Management on the line/s, localization of spares and proper break-down analysis and R&M cost reduction for the line/s; represent the department/line/s as the site technology owner in the regional and global technology forums
- Assist in VSU for the new initiatives and enables the VSU team; help the line leader in internal and external benchmarking and reapplication; be the subject matter expert on one of the component categories and will be a trainer of PM related subjects for the plant

What you need to know about this position:
This position (reporting to the SSA Strategy Director) is critical to building our organizational capability in RGM and driving superior healthy growth across the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region. Specifically, this role should:
- Support the establishment, alignment, and delivery of the SSA regional ambition, approach & strategic roadmap for RGM
- Enable markets to analyze, uncover and unlock RGM insights and sized growth opportunities
- Entrench RGM as ‘business as usual’ through cross functional commercial planning process
- Ensure markets have the right access to data, analytical tools, and best-in-class RGM methodologies & technologies
- Represent RGM for SSA both inside & outside our organization
- Directly support markets with work tracks & ad-hoc projects as required

- Complete assessments of RGM capability needs and recommend approach, strategic direction, and priority actions to form road map
- Align SSA RGM roadmap with Regional RGM Centre of Excellence (COE), SSA Lead Team and key cross functional partners/stakeholders
- Build enablement plan to deliver the strategic roadmap and ensure capability, process & systems plan are aligned
Enable markets to analyze, uncover and unlock RGM insights and sized growth opportunities:
- Execute & facilitate deployment of Advanced RGM training materials to all SSA markets (playbooks, tools & methodologies), including localization of material where necessary
- Support / lead RGM project deep dives or ‘sprints’ across prioritized markets to unlock growth opportunities and prioritize executional plans
Entrench RGM as ‘business as usual’ through cross functional commercial planning process:
- Support development of blueprint for markets, including proposed organizational structures with roles & responsibilities; suggested people planning; RGM process establishment including KPI’s and role in AC/SP horizons; required analytical and digital capabilities; ongoing governance
- Facilitate regional governance of RGM – including Price protocols and agreed KPI delivery
Ensure the markets have the right access to data, analytical tools, and best-in-class RGM methodologies & technologies:
- Understand regional and market data requirements to enable best practice RGM and partner with I&A/D&A to ensure an ongoing level of quality and sufficiency
- Define SSA RGM systems, digital & analytical needs by market and support MDS, D&A, and I&A functions in development of roadmap

The role will be responsible for managing and analysing all key data necessary for driving all essential business relating to Pricing and Promotional strategies. This position drives effective pricing decisions that deliver top-line growth and price realization through the delivery of timely and insightful analysis and recommendations. Building effective relationships with our Category, Category Development, Sales & Finance business partners, and External Customers offering pricing insights to unlock category growth via value realization. The candidate will be required to work cross-functionally and will play an important role in using both internal and 3rd party data to present key analyses to track business performance. The candidate will be required to drive collaboration within the business by facilitating effective planning sessions and influencing key stakeholders with relevant data models. The overall function assists the business by empowering them with intelligence that will result in better decision-making and organisational performance.

Sub-Sahara Africa is one of the key Business Units managing businesses on categories such as Chocolates, Biscuits, Gum & Candy, Beverages & Meals. The Business Units lead the development and implementation of strategies for the growth of the total business, which includes managing the P&L.
The company’s strategic imperative is to deliver strong topline and bottom-line growth. SSA’s mission as a business unit, is to drive volume-driven and dollar profitable growth. The SSA Strategy Analyst is part of the SSA Strategy Team which also includes Revenue Management.
The key purpose of this position is to lead a SSA Growth Analytics sub-team who will provide Business Analytics and Problem solving that drive agile fact-based decisions and business growth in SSA. Specifically, this position is expected to establish, strengthen and advance Business Strategy, address Key Business Questions, Investment decisions, partner with Commercial Sales and Marketing and support Revenue Management and our broader Sustainability agenda.
