    Buying Administrator

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is searching for a Buying Administrator to join our Grocery Division. The role will report into Senior Buyer and will be based at Randfontein.
    • The incumbent will be responsible for providing administrative support and follow up to the purchasing process ensuring compliance with procurement procedures.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric/Grade 12
    • Preferably a supply chain or Business Diploma
    • Procurement background
    • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Relevant Syspro experience would be advantageous

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Buying Administration – Support to Buyers:

    • Where purchase orders are created on receipt of fully completed buying requisitions or workflows that have been approved in accordance with the Company policy and procedures, and Levels of Authority.
    • Ensures all requests have correct authorisation as per policy.
    • Ensures that all purchase requisitions contain accurate and complete information.
    • Ensures Company requirements are met with all orders (i.e. correct authorization, 3 quotes are obtained where no group contract exists etc.). – second check at filing stage.
    • Follows up and fixes problem invoices by resolving queries between suppliers and credit department. Ensures that invoice queries from creditors team are actioned in timely and efficient manner within 48 hours.
    • Supports requisitions and compiles bid documentation to facilitate competitive procurement of non-complex, non-contract items.
    • Solicits written quotations and assists in tabulating bids.

      Buying Administration:

    • Expedites all orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered on promised dates.
    • Pro-actively communicates unrealistic delivery dates to the buyers through expediting of orders.
    • Monitor open orders not more than 90 days witch exception to imports and special requirements.
    • Monitor and analyse accuracy of supplier delivery times against contract lead times. (i.e. lead time analysis)
    • Maintains purchasing documents, files and records and follow up files of purchases, shipments, and related matters.
    • Reports any challenges to the Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager.

      Teamwork and Self-Management:

    • Takes ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.
    • Follows through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.

    Reporting Administration and Data management:

    • Compile any requisite information for procurement reports required.
    • Filing of all procurement documentation as per procedures manual.
    • Compile ad hoc spreadsheets when required.
    • Capture data accurately and regularly to enable access to reliable data

      Governance:

    • Ensure that ethical standards and the requirements of the Company policy are adhered to.
    • Report and or escalate any areas of non- compliance appropriately.
    • Procedural compliance demonstrated, and where relevant process controls and procurement procedures have been implemented.

    Cash Office Clerk - Kokstad Depot

    Job Description    

    • RCL Foods is recruiting for a driven, highly energized and numerically focused Cash Office Clerk within the baking business unit.
    • The suitable candidate will be responsible to provide accounting support and insight for the relevant customer principal/depot. To keep track of the business units financial transactions. Using standardized guidelines, the transactions are recorded, summarized, and presented in a financial report or financial statement.
    • This role will be based in Kokstad and reporting to the Depot Manager.
    • This role is a Permanent role.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Education:
    • NQF level 4/5, Matric 

    Experience:

    • 1yrs experience in a credit control and cash handling  environment

    General

    • Proficient in MSExcel
    • Previous experience of JDE or an ERP system  advantageous.

    Duties & Responsibilities    
    Daily Receipts Processing

    • Receive and Process Credit Notes, Discounts ensure that these documents have been authorised 
    • Count all cash from drivers under the view of the camera system and capture on Driver cash up  spreadsheet
    • Follow up on any shortages and gather reasons for driver shortages these are to be reported within 24  hrs (Contact Driver / Driver Supervisor to Identify Reasons for Short Payment)
    • Receipt cash up into the drivers JDE customer account
    • Process authorised petty cash payments 
    • Issue petty cash for authorised casual wage expenditure 

    General Processing

    • Maintain filing system 
    • Ordering and issuing of company pre-printed stationary 

    Cash Handling

    • Accurate counting of cash and reconciling of daily banking
    • Daily reconciliation of cash vault machine

    Refrigeration Technician - Randfontein

    Job Description    

    • RCL FOODS is seeking a Refrigeration Technician to join our Groceries Division. The role will be based in Randfontein and report to the Engineering Manager. RCL FOODS is looking for an experienced Refrigeration Technician to perform skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and inspection work on complex refrigeration equipment.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Category B8-specialist Ammonia (R717) refrigeration practitioner
    • Valid Gas license obtained from  SAQCC
    • At least 5years experience working in Ammonia plants after First Gas License was obtained. 
    • Must be a qualified artisan in either a Millwright, Electrician or a Refrigeration Technician.  
    • Must be willing to do standby.
    • Must be willing to work overtime when needed.
    • Must assist in other departments as time allows.
    • Must be willing to work shifts.
    • Needs to relocate to be available in case of emergency.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Planning of work according to the maintenance plan and schedule and per breakdown.
    • Maintenance and repair of all site-related equipment in accordance with the maintenance plan and schedule.
    • Render assistance to handymen on faults that cannot be solved on their level of required competence.
    • Daily inspection of all work completed on-site including site facilities and buildings.
    • Management, training, and development of maintenance handyman and technical assistant.
    • The discipline of maintenance handyman and technical assistant under direct control.
    • Issue daily job cards and inspect work executed.
    • Perform standby duties.
    • Experience in piston ammonia compressors overhaul, strip, assemble, pump downs, oil changes etc.
    • Experience with screw air compressors( Atlas Copco employees can be advantageous)
    • Experience with bottle molding equipment and blow molding preference.
    • General electrical and mechanical experience.
    • Air-conditioning/ refrigeration and chiller experience.
    • Working on cooling towers and circulation pumps.
    • Heat exchangers Plate and shell and tube.
    • Copper to copper soldering pipe systems and general refrigeration maintenance and installation experience
    • Ability to assist at other sites when required.

    Brand Consultant (Fixed Term Contract)

    • We are on the hunt for an experienced Brand Consultant to join our team on a 6-month Fixed Term Contract to drive growth of RCL portfolio at outlet level. Drive increased SKUs per outlet in your territory; Drive compliance in National/Regional account listings. To ensure availability of RCL FOODS range at a unit level.  Ensure smooth trade level relationship with the outlets in your territory, policing and managing any supply related issues.     • The role will report to the Area Sales Manager and will be based in Cape Town.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Matric
    • Valid Code EB drivers’ licence.
    • Preferred 1 to 2 years direct selling experience (Relevant food service experience).
    • Consultant required to manage all company assets. Ie: Pie warmers/ Trade tools/ Etc
    • Computer literacy – MS Office.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Strategy Formulation and Implementation

    • Apply Outlet profiling to implement the appropriate selling strategies for new SKU’s to achieve conversions in your area.
    • Devise action plans to improve the Front of House (FOH) availability and preparation quality of your territory by leveraging the Operator management/staff; Regional Trade Consultant and also RCL Route to Market partner (RTM) In-Field colleagues.
    • Actively look for new business to grow territory.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Manage Territory Outlet Relationships
    • Relationships with all stake holders to be managed.  Outlet owner, management and staff.
    • Grow business by delivering the strike rate requirement that allows the addition of SKU’s at an Outlet level which will intern deliver on National Account, Channel and Regional Plans.
    • Grow business by ensuring availability of the full listed range for all RCL products at all outlets, both through back of house education and front of house availability.
    • Build a reputation as the RCL Culinary Expert in Outlet operations, through knowledge of the processes and use of insight to add relevant new products that add/ grow value to the outlets profit.
    • POS placement and management of branding within your territory.
    • Provide ad-hock informal Training to Outlet staff teams on full RCL portfolio.
    • Marketing Management

    New Product Development

    • You will be required to ensure new product listings are presented/ prepared in your outlets when a head office listing has been agreed. You will be heavily involved in the demonstration of product benefits/ value add; in addition of new products to the pantries and processes of the outlets in your territory.
    • New product introduction at an outlet may not only include innovation; but key lines from the current product portfolio that may not yet be ranged within the outlet.
    • New SKU’s will be listed at head office by the National Accounts Managers and then implemented at an outlet level by this role.
    • You are responsible for driving the increase in number of our RCL SKUs used in each outlet.

    Marketing and Promotion

    • This role will be highly involved in the activation of promotional activities at an outlet level within your Territory.  The key is to ensure you deliver against the briefs and are timeous with your placement and training.
    • You will have to make sure all POS and promotion materials are available in all relevant sites as required in your territory. 
    • You may be required to assist in various promotional activities at different locations, such as a Key Account regional ops meeting; Trade Depot team demo; but this would be approximately 1 day a month.
    • Manage the warmer/cabinet infrastructure and outsourced servicing for you region; this will include inspection recording/auditing and administering maintenance issues as well as placing merchandising as required.

    Market and Customer Insight Maintenance

    • Provide the business with any information on competitors that is affecting your performance in the territory and with your Regional Manager make sure you are adapting plans to combat our competitors appropriately and seeking support if the required response is out of your scope.
    • Keep the Channel Teams informed of latest developments and trading realities at an outlet level by feeding back any new operator issues that affect the relevance of our RCL range of products within your outlets.

    Pricing Guidelines Management

    • Track/Audit RCL brand portfolio and competitor prices across all customers/outlets.

    Supply Chain Distribution Management

    • Provide management of the distribution link between RCL supply chain and the Customer’s outlet ensuring full availability to the consumer.
    • Conduct regular reviews of distribution and product delivery efficiency by the different Distribution partners and discuss issues with the relevant partner representatives.
    • Ensure that you regularly provide feedback to your Manager/ Trade
    • Manager on customer service measures and resolve problems arising (complaints, on time delivery and order fill).
    • Your involvement within the outlet will be frequent (Frequency will be aligned to customer ranking) and your level of interaction hold you in high regard; especially when driving commercial conversation and skill review. You need to use this status to have a strong influence on the Front of House (FOH) product availability, ranging and day part offering. Your main focus being one of driving full availability.

    Financial Management

    • You will be required to discuss concepts such as cost-in-use, margin etc. in your selling process. In additional, assist with wastage management and assist in guiding best practice.
    • Deliver Territory revenue targets.
