Job Purpose:
- The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for maintaining The IIE's Rosebank College campus building/s, assets, equipment and grounds as well as overseeing the provision of services across the campus relating to cleaning, hygiene, safety, security and landscaping through the scheduling and management of contractors.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities for this Position:
- Performs regular inspections to assess campus maintenance needs.
- Takes ownership of the campus asset tagging for the asset register.
- Compiles a maintenance plan based on maintenance requirements and priorities.

- B.Ed. Honours degree or an Honours degree in the language to be lectured or another Humanities/Arts/Social Science Honours
- Postgraduate Diploma in Education (at NQF level 8)
- The undergraduate qualification must include a module on Teaching and Learning/Pedagogy.
- Language to be lectured must be included as a major (up to third year level),
- The Postgraduate Teaching Diploma (NQF level 8) must have the language to be lectured as a didactic subject.
Experience / Exposure
- 1 to 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation

Overview and Purpose of Position
- To teach / lecture an agreed number of hours based on module specialisation requirements. To engage and prepare students for assessments by tracking module pacers, identifying and supporting at risk students, managing general student administrative support, and developing assessments by engaging with the Central Academic Team. Assisting the Programme Coordinator in tracking and analysing of academic results to evaluate the performance of the module and to identify “at risk modules”.
Main Outputs and Responsibilities
Lecturing / Teaching
- Deliver lectures and engage students (30 hours per week) based on module-specific requirements in line with module pacers
- Manage resources including academic materials and liaising with the Information Centre.
- Update Learning Management System and provide feedback to students
Teaching-Learning Support
- Engage and prepare students for assessments, identify at risk students and develop assessments in accordance with Central Academic Team briefings
- Monitor student engagement as well as assessment submission with relevant escalation
- Attend and participate in academic meetings across all faculties
- Support Part-time Lecturers with faculty requirements
- Reflect on, review, and analyse student module result
- Offer academic support to the Programme Coordinator with results analysis and tracking of own modules to assess performance of modules and to identify at risk modules
Team Support
- Support the monitoring of Part-time Lecturer performance and pass rates per module
- Train on marking and related policies and procedures
- Develop and design Teaching-Learning materials in support of module-specific outcomes
- Co-lecture and set up subject meetings twice a semester
- Assist with student registration and orientation as required
Research and/or Academic Professional Development to enhance the quality of Teaching-Learning (15%)

Education Qualifications
- A minimum of an Honour's degree in Psychology or a minimum of an BED Honours degree.
- Postgraduate Diploma (NQF level 8 postgraduate qualification) with a focus on education would be advantageous
- The undergraduate qualification must include Psychology as a major (up to third year level)
- Undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include both psychology in general and at least one module on developmental psychology in particular.
OR
- The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a focus on Sociology (of Education, preferably), and/or Childhood, and/or Development Psychology, and/ or another area affiliated with Social Education.
