Lecturer - Logistics and Supply Chain Mangement - Nelson Mandela Bay at Rosebank International

Job Purpose:

• The training and education of students; student consultations; the establishment of a knowledge base of the discipline through academic research and development, and to provide support to the Academic Development Consultants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lecturing - Lecture and facilitate Student Support workshops and subject specific tutorials as required
• Teaching and Learning Support - Develop teaching and learning capacity and standards on campus by assisting the Academic Development Coordinator with peer assessments 
• Provide teaching feedback
• Quality assurance reviews
• Research and Development - Do research and development to support skills
• Team support - Support the academic team to ensure that deadlines are met, student queries are resolved within agreed time frames and administration processes are completed
• Responsible for Teaching and Learning Delivery in respect of:
• Direct academic student engagement
• Students’ success rates at modular level
• Continuous student support and development
• Teaching and learning in and out of the classroom
• Programme Coordination Committee meetings
• Contributes to programme improvements (content and assessments)

Education:

• Minimum - Honours Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Ideal - NQF level 8 qualification in Education (PGDHE or equivalent); Training and Development an added advantage.

Work Experience:

• 3 - 5 years lecturing in a tertiary environment
• 1 - 3 years of industry-specific experience in area of specialisation
• Relevant lecturing experience
• Solid understanding of the South African Further Education and Higher Education environment and regulatory framework
• Teaching-Learning theory
• Assessment methods and processes
• Teaching-learning interventions
• Holistic lecturer and student support services
• The ideal individual
