    Maintenance Technician - Electrical Paint Shop (PA 1163)

    Job Description and Responsibilities    

    • Ensuring that all Paint shop electrical installations and PLC systems are maintained to VWSA standards and requirements in order to ensure safe plant operation by means of structured maintenance systems such as PM’s, check lists, weekend work job cards etc.
    • Recommending, updating and modifying electrical installations to the latest engineering technology in order to stay in line with the latest technologies available on the market by constantly dealing with external suppliers and similar industrial companies.
    • Maintaining of electrical equipment to meet the required health & safety standards to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
    • Making the necessary adjustments to facilities such as conveyor speeds, fan speeds, system pressures, tank levels etc. by means of PLC settings, controller adjustments and thereafter verify that the adjustments produced the required outcome by measuring the output performance/parameters.
    • Carrying out planned maintenance activities using the correct tools and testing equipment according to VWSA’s systems, processes and procedures to ensure that all equipment are serviced at the required intervals as determined from time to time by the maintenance planner / original equipment supplier.
    • Activating participation on daily basis in the Shop Floor Management structure. This includes sectional meetings and problem resolution activities/implementation as driven by the team

    Education and Experience    

    •     NN Diploma/ National Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (light current) / Mechatronics
    •     Trade test certificate Electrician /Millwright
    •     Minimum 2-4years’ proven operations and maintenance experience within in the manufacturing environment
    •     Good experience in VSD control system (Danfoss & SEW)

    Skills, Attributes & Other requirements    
    ESSENTIAL:

    • Understanding of PLC systems (preferably Siemens Simatic S7) / SCADA (WinCC or similar)
    • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
    • Ability to communicate verbally and orally at various levels (operator to management level)
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must be computer literate (MS Office)

    PREFERRED:

    • Automation experience
    • Certified training (PLC’s Drives, etc.). Advantageous

    Service Advisor- (PA 1173)

    Job Description and Responsibilities    

    • Identifying scope of work required, time frame and any additional work needed taking into account the workshop capacity and availability of parts.
    • Validating scope of work required and creating service order based on thorough diagnosis (dialogue around the vehicle, directly using the lifting platform or going on a test drive with the customer).
    • Following up with the parts store on the estimated time arrival (ETA) of ordered parts.
    • Liaising and advising the Customer with regards to confirmation of the job order, appointment and scheduling.
    • Ensuring that all information relevant to the repair being planned is included in the repair order, taking into account the latest technical information released from both the Workshop and Parts & Accessories perspectives.
    • Assenting the necessary work to be done with the responsible technicians in the workshop - ensuring that the required tools and equipment are available.
    • Ensuring that all work carried out in the workshop or by the appointed supplier is of the required quality.
    • Minimizing cost operations including warranty, goodwill and actively advising the customer of any anticipatable future need for servicing or repairing the vehicle.
    • Handling complaints in a customer-friendly manner.
    • Ensuring priority treatment of the complaint with regard to scheduling/capacity planning and actively following up on completion of the work.

    Education and Experience    

    • NN Diploma/ National Diploma in any relevant Engineering Field/ Marketing/ relevant Aftersales qualification
    • Minimum 3 years after sales experience in a Dealership environment.

    Skills, Attributes & Other requirements    
    ESSENTIAL:

    • Must have working knowledge of Volkswagen & Audi Product.
    • Strong Computer skills (MS Office)
    • Must be able to clearly communicate at all levels within the organisation
    • Must be able to work under pressure and cope with high workloads
    • A valid Driving license 

    PREFFERED:

    • Knowledge of the ADP system (Keyloop)
    • International Service Advisor program certificate
