    Executive Manager: Office of the PFA

    Responsibilities: 

    • Provide strategic and executive support to the Office of the PFA.
    • Ensure smooth running of the Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator’s operations.
    • Manage and coordinate the functions in the Office of the PFA and administration thereof.
    • Provide senior-level operational and strategic support to the PFA and the organisation.
    • Coordinate the appointment, induction, and continuous development of governance committee members and administration thereof.
    • Administer submissions to EXCO, governance committees, and advisory board for the PFA and organisation.
    • Oversee OPFA’s stakeholder management strategy and plan.
    • Manage both internal and external communications, ensuring efficient information flow and representing the organisation image to stakeholders.
    • Coordinate and manage projects from the PFA’s office.
    • Quality check documents and reports before submission.

    Requirements

    • Knowledge and understanding of the PFMA, King IV, and other related legislation.
    • Experience in Pension Funds Act would be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of governance frameworks and committee secretariat functions.
    • Basic Computer Literacy (MS Word), communication skills (verbal and written), advanced report writing and presentation preparation skills.
    • Ability to manage diverse teams and multiple deliverables in a high-pressure environment

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Grade 12 (NQF 4)
    • Degree (NQF level 8 or 9) in Business Administration or Law

     Preferred Requirements:

    • MBA will be an added advantage
    • Chartered Secretary qualification (CGISA) will be an added advantage

    Re-Advertisement - Assistant Adjudicator

    Responsibilities:

    • Receive investigation file and identify areas that require further investigation to dispose of a complaint
    • Request further information from parties to a complaint where required
    • Identify the need for and request expert reports in appropriate matters
    • Engage with parties to a complaint concerning the administrative aspects of the file/investigation.
    • Ensure that procedural fairness requirements are adhered to
    • Maintain a proper record of all complaints allocated, including a record of all correspondence relating to a complaint, proof of service, telephone calls, emails, etc.
    • Ensure all information is captured and processed on the OPFA case management system
    • Prepare and submit quality draft determinations to the Team Leader within set timelines in accordance with daily, weekly, and monthly targets
    • Attend to corrections on reviewed drafts
    • Correctly identify out-of-jurisdiction matters
    • Draft settlement and out-of-jurisdiction letters for approval by the Team Leader
    • Assist with projects/ad hoc tasks as and when required
    • Submit weekly and monthly statistics to the Team Leader
    • Prepare records for the Financial Services Tribunal or High Court

    Requirements

    • A Law Degree, i.e. BCom Law, BA Law, or LLB (Bachelor of Laws)
    • 3 years’ experience in the retirement funds industry – administration, management, or regulation
    • Knowledge and understanding of the appropriate legislative and regulatory frameworks
    • Ability to assess and investigate facts, interpret legislation, and draft legal documents
    • Legal research
    • Experience in the financial services sector will be an added advantage
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Pension Funds Act and the role of the Pension Funds Adjudicator

    Administrative Assistant: New Complaints Unit

    Responsibilities:

    • Effective managing of the OPFA’s mailboxes (emails and faxes), attending to incoming mail within 24 hours from receipt.
    • Distribute further submissions from complainants/funds/employers to Administrative Assistants, Case Officers, and Assistant Adjudicators within agreed timeframes.
    • Respond to emails or faxes requesting further information where submissions are inadequate or misdirected and refer complaints to the correct entity if necessary.
    • Capture new complaints received via email on software program (Respond) within 48 hours of receipt.
    • Check for accuracy of data and use appropriate sources to obtain correct data (Google, FSCA Website, CIPC Search, Respond, etc)
    • Submit monthly statistics regarding new complaints received via email and processed. 
    • Assist walk-in and email complainants with lodging complaints and gathering all required documentation.
    • Ensure that complaint information on complaint form is correctly recorded and provide guidance to complainants on the necessary documentation.
    • Implement instructions from the NCU Supervisor efficiently and accurately.
    • Demonstrate a customer-centric approach and respond to all enquiries and complaints timeously and professionally.
    • Maintain clear and professional communication with complainants and internal stakeholders.

    Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12).
    • At least 2 years’ experience in office administration and data capturing.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and excel.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Good customer service and interpersonal abilities.
