    Group Quotations Team Leader

    Job Advert Summary    

    The successful candidate will be responsible for training and mentoring group quoting agents. Assist guests with bookings and confirming group reservations. Manage call volumes to achieve departmental goals and communicate with backup resources.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • 1 year of group reservations experience
    • Thorough knowledge of hotel services and amenities.
    • Availability to work holidays, weekends and periods of high demand.
    • Computer Skills - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    • Proficient with a hotel PMS
    • Oral Comprehension - demonstrates ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Reading Comprehension - demonstrates understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
    • Writing - communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
    • Excellent guests service skills.
    • Excellent telephone etiquette skills
    • Ability to handle heavy volume of phone calls.

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Consistently offer professional, courteous and engaging service.
    • Support agents through mentoring/coaching in their daily tasks/responsibilities to optimize departmental operations and increase knowledge and performance.
    • Provide feedback to National Sales Manager regarding both positive and negative issues impacting department performance.
    • Demonstrate an unyielding passion for the guest experience, culture, mission and vision by troubleshooting and resolving guest and partner issues in a timely and mutually beneficial outcome.
    • Handles manager calls and emergencies.
    • Follow sales standards to achieve revenue goals according to company guidelines.
    • Provide accurate and thorough information on the hotel’s accommodations, packages, promotions, services, and amenities.
    • Assist guests with planning and booking hotel, restaurant, packages and special event reservations.
    • Book and enter group reservation requests using the Property Management System.
    • Assign specific accommodations based upon feature and/or location requests.
    • Assist guests with inquiries about hotel facilities in an informative and helpful way.

    Wedding And Events Sales Executive (KZN, Pietermaritsburg)

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Oversee and implement all sales activities in his/her specific area of responsibility.
    • Promotes hotels to achieve optimal sales at the best possible conditions to update with the wedding & events markets.
    • Responsible for assisting General Managers, coordinating and implementing all aspects of social and wedding events to ensure successful events.
    • Relationship building with all the current and prospective wedding & events customers.
    • Determine effective and productive sales programs in the wedding & events market segment.
    • Relationship building with all the current and prospective wedding & event customers in the exhibition/workshop segment.
    • Upgrade knowledge and awareness of the facilities provided by ANEW Hotels & Resorts
    • Assist the National Sales Manager in the execution of sales plans and strategies.
    • Identify prospects for sales deals within targeted markets of the assigned area /segment and also prepare and conduct sales presentations in coordination with the National /Regional Sales Manager.
    • Professionally conduct routine telemarketing activities to identify new clients for social and wedding events.
    • Submit monthly and weekly sales plans and market analyses (monthly) as well as daily sales/activity reports.
    • Attends and contributes to all meetings as required.
    • Ensure a courteous and professional service is provided at all times.
    • Handles guest inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow-up.

    The successful individual will be responsible in ensuring the entire hotel, all Guest’s Rooms and Public Areas are cleaned in a consistent and professional manner, creating results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the Company.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Hospitality certificate or management diploma will be advantageous.
    • +2 years in a 4-star unit as Executive Housekeeper or Room Divisions Manager
    • Knowledge of the Opera -Property Management System essential
    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook & Explorer)
    • Good planning, organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work accurately under pressure.
    • Must be guest service driven.
    • Ability to work shifts.
    • Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and telephonic.
    • Must be able to use initiative & work unsupervised.

    • Responsible for the overall running of housekeeping department of the hotel, cost effectively and to required standard, in accordance with the Hotel’s operational requirements.
    • Supervises all personnel in these departments.
    • Check all rooms on cleanliness, readiness and maintenance issues and is responsible for ensuring the Minimum Standard Operating Procedures are being met.
    • Responsible for staff training
    • Forecast anticipated volumes of business and schedule staff accordingly.
    • Maintain records of stock taking and working to our budgeted amounts of guest supplier and other consumables.
    • Responsible for the control of all stock, operating equipment, maintenance, and cleaning of cleaning equipment.
