Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Profit and growth

• Ensure that the Company is not over committed on individual risks
• Review targets monthly
• Ensure that the Company reinsurance standards are always adhered to
• Report to the market facing underwriter on large variances and large claims

Effective management of Engineering portfolio

• Timeously assist with the resolution of problems
• Review figures of various portfolios
• Collaboration with Bryte commercial business streams

Technical Support

• Assist with technical support and negotiations on accounts
• Analyse client information to determine marketing needs
• Provide input to Brokers regarding claims to ensure timeous resolution
• Ensure policies/renewals are issued timeously and correctly

Credit control

• Ensure that payments are received on time in terms of legislation and company policies
• Resolve high level problems regarding credit control
• Assist the regions in reconciliations

Effective people management and team leadership

• Lead by example in living the values of Bryte
• Ensure that the technical knowledge/expertise is enhanced
• Communicate effectively, building and maintaining relationships
• Ensure consistent compliance to company policies and procedures, corporate governance and relevant legislation

Qualification & Experience

• Matric/NQF level 4
• Insurance qualification
• RE

Knowledge

• Fair understanding and knowledge of South African Engineering Insurance/reinsurance market
• Strong competency in Engineering underwriting
• FAIS compliant
• Clear criminal and credit record

Key Tasks & Accountabilities

• Produce a Business Plan that reflects market opportunities for area of responsibility.
• Produce a Sales plan that demonstrates how to identify, develop, and manage prospects.
• Underwrite and accept risks within delegated authority to achieve effective implementation of business.
• Grow and retain Bryte Sales target to ensure the GWP and profitability targets are met.
• Track Productivity levels.
• Deliver and enhance the highest level of client satisfaction by working with brokers to map and determine their business needs in delivering superior client service.
• Strategically analyse the Brokers business plan and develop future business opportunities.
• Develop the Broker panel whereby the Business Development Growth targets are achieved through influence and persuasions.
• Ensure that technical and operational underwriting standards, procedures.
• Implement agreed underwriting measures to attain targeted loss ratios and rates.
• Ensure adherence to the Regional Teams Sales plan.
• Business Accountabilities.
• Analysis Governance and risk management executed to Bryte expectations and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate calibre
• 5 years+ short term insurance industry experience and sound experience in Sales with a strong presence in the Broker community.
• FAIS compliant

Knowledge

• Sound understanding and knowledge of South African Insurance Market Experience within Sales
• Sound knowledge of statutory and legislative requirements
• Maintain up to date knowledge of local markets and industry sectors.
• Sound knowledge of Bryte South Africa and its business strategy and objectives
