    Senior Payroll Officer

    Description

    • The Faircape Group constitutes a group of companies with interests in a number of activities including Healthcare, Retirement Holdings, Telecommunications and an ISP, Utility Management and infrastructure installation, Property Management and related activities.

    We are looking for an organized and professional Senior Payroll Officer.

    • The ideal candidate would be a strong administrator, a confident, self motivated individual who consistently strives for excellence. The successful candidate will be required to manage a high volume workload, have the ability to manage their own time and work to deadlines.

    Job purpose: Process monthly and bi-weekly payrolls on SAGE People for 700 employees.

    Requirements
    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    Return of Earnings / WCA

    • Assist Payroll Manager with compiling return of earnings reports for all companies in group and update WCA Tracker ready for Payroll Manager to submit return of earnings to DoL.
    • Follow up on submissions to ensure it has been received
    • Arrange for payments to DoL with Finance

    Payroll Processing

    • Ensure the ERS time and attendance information imported into the system is checked and accurate prior to shift counts being performed.
    • Assist with month end reporting when required to do so
    • Assist Auditors with year-end payroll reports and queries for all entities and BCs when required to do so.
    • Issuing UIF Documentation for existing staff.
    • Checking of travel claims and other reimbursements for processing.
    • Employee Rostering and Time-Keeping Management (ERS)

    Daily upkeep and maintenance of the time keeping system

    • Provide support and guidance to all users.
    • Check that the employee rostering is correctly entered into ERS.
    • Daily clocking adjustments in ERS where applicable
    • Ensure enforcers are actioned by Managers
    • Update demerit schedule for review and approval by HR/Payroll Manager.

    Statutory Reporting

    • Assist with submitting EMP201’s are submitted to SARS by their deadline dates as dictated by SARS
    • Assist with UIF declarations to be made each month

    Leave Management

    • Ensure all leave is captured by employees that have been absent in relation to Sick Leave Jot forms ready for Payroll Manager to collate information and submit SOMA reports at month end.
    • Create and pre-populate leave planners.
    • Maintain planner with starters and terminations

    Pay Queries:

    • Assist with investigating and actioning pay queries logged with HR.
    • Assist in ensuring that pay query resolution letters are issued

    Filing:

    • Ensure that all payroll filing is completed along with the Payroll Officer.
    • Foreign National Tracker:

    Assist in tracking Foreign nationals.
    COIDA:

    • Assist with collections of WCA documentations, i.e. First Doctor’s Report, Progress Report and Resumption report to finalise the claim when required.
    • Assist with follow ups on submissions to ensure it has been received.

    Qualifications:

    Senior Certificate

    • Relevant payroll/HR qualification advantageous

    Experience:

    • A minimum of 3 years payroll experience (previous experience with SAGE People advantageous)
    • Experience in working on excel spreadsheets.
    • Bargaining council (BIBC) experience advantageous
    • Experience in and knowledge on time & attendance software
    • Basic HR knowledge
    • Knowledge of provisions of Basic Conditions of Employment Act
    • Statutory and legislative requirements in respect of PAYE, UIF, Workman’s compensation

    Skills and Attributes:

    • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and general computer literacy
    • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Experience in SAGE / SAGE 300 or similar
    • Experience on biometric clocking systems
    • Treat payroll and related information with highest degree of confidentiality
    • Team Player
    • Professional communication skills (able to handle own correspondence

    Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary

    Description

    • The Faircape Group owns and manages six luxury retirement/lifestyle villages with state of the art and technologically advanced Healthcare Centres at each village.
    • These busy facilities with a versatile range of patients inclusive of frail, mental health, sub-acute and assisted living, are situated in prime locations across the Western Cape: (Bridgewater and Heritage Manor -Somerset West, Cle du Cap – Kirstenhof, Noordhoek Manor- Noordhoek, Onrus Manor- Onrusriver and Tokai Estate - Tokai).
    • We are seeking an experienced ENA at our Cle Du Cap facility in Kirstenhof to assist in the healthcare.

    Duties include but is not limited to the following:
    HANDOVER:

    • Participate in handover by communicating observations of residents verbally and in the handover book
    • Act on reports from opposite shift in handover
    • Regular observations and intervention of residents according to ECP care plan, including:
    • Catheter care
    • Pressure care
    • Blood pressure
    • Intake and output
    • Pulse
    • Temperature
    • Oxygen saturation
    • Hb
    • Hgt. Urine testing
    • Weighing of residents
    • Administering of eye drops

    CLINICAL:

    • Do all wound dressings according to care plan and record and report wound progress
    • Communicate to Shift Leader immediately any change in a patient’s condition
    • Any other clinical tasks within scope of practice as requested by the Shift Leader

    ECP:

    • Log all actions as per the care plan on ECP
    • Make suggestions to the Shift Leader regarding possible amendments to care plans
    • Total intake and output charts and the end of each shift and record on ECP

    ADMINISTRATION AND REPORTING:

    • Manage and issue nappy stock
    • Record all tasks on ECP
    • Complete handover book
    • Report all duties and any concerns to the Shift Leader

    Requirements

    • Qualifications - Qualified and SANC registered as Nursing Auxilinary( ENA)
    • Experience and Knowledge – Experience in Neuro, Stroke, Orthopaedics, Geriatrics, as well as experience within Sub Acute environment advantageous
    • Skills and Attributes - Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, making sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, well spoken, neat, be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families.
    • Working Hours - Normal working days are Monday to Sunday, as per the roster. You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Shifts will be worked between 07h00 to 19h00.
