    Inside / Parlour Dairy Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
     

    • Agricultural Diploma / Degree advantageous
    • Minimum of 3 years dairy herd management
    • Ability to AI
    • Great stockmanship
    • Proven dairy parlour experience
    • Knowledge and experience with milking routines
    • Strong admin and management skills
    • Computer literacy essential, with proven experience working with Dairy software
    • Maintenance orientated

    Cane Farm Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    •  Agricultural Degree / Diploma advantageous
    • Min of 2 years previous farm management experience with the following points:
    • Cropping (all aspects) – sugar cane
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Computer literate
    • Ability to work in a team
    • Ability to speak Zulu
    • Maintenance orientated
    • Valid driver’s license

     RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    •  Oversee all aspects of the farming operation, with a focus on the sugar cane operation.
    • Planning the day’s work and then setting up of workers, drivers etc., ensuring that all employees have sufficient work for the day ahead.
    • Setting up tasks for various workers
    • Burning sugar cane, supervising loading and can haulage
    • Calibrating sprayers, fertilizer applicators etc., making sure all fields have been sprayed/fertilized
    • Checking of tasks for the day
    • Soil sampling, ordering fertilizer
    • Supervising the planting and hand weeding labour
    • Keeping accurate records of all cane operations
    • Assist in other aspects of the farm

    Payroll & HR Administrator

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 with a tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
    • 2+ years Payroll Administration and/or Human Resource Functions experience.
    • Extensive knowledge of Labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, COIDA, EE, UIF etc.)
    • Familiar with payroll software, Sage, is highly advantageous.
    • Advanced computer literacy.
    • Drivers’ License.
    • Farm Accreditation knowledge (SIZA & GlobalG.A.P.) is highly advantageous.
    • Health & Safety knowledge in the agricultural sector advantageous.
    • First Aid level 1 is highly advantageous.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Payroll Administration from onboarding to terminations.
    • Maintain Employee records.
    • Calculation of wages & salaries.
    • Co-ordination and administration of the farm’s Time & Attendance System.
    • Attend to payroll related queries.
    • Creating and assisting in new policies and procedures.
    • Assists, arranges and co-ordination of training & development.
    • Compilation of Workplace Skills Plan & Annual Training report.
    • Compilation of employee take-on packs.
    • Assisting with job recruitments and selections.
    • Creating job descriptions and assisting with job analysis.
    • Disciplinary actions.
    • Performance management.
    • Assist the Director with determining the various aspects of compensation and remuneration of employees.
    • Grievances and dispute resolutions.
    • IODs & assisting the H&S committee.
    • Assisting the workers’ committee.
    • Assisting the EE committee.
    • Employee benefit administration and liaison with provident fund.
    • Ensuring legal compliance with LRA, EEA, BCEA and all other labour legislation.
    • Liaising with Department of Employment & Labour (UI-19s, audits etc).
    • Liaising with SETA for discretionary and mandatory grants.
    • Co-ordination of all learnerships.
    • Act as advisor on all employee matters, laws, disciplinary matters etc.
    • Assist with Accreditation Audits (SIZA and GlobalG.A.P.).

    Cropping and Beef Farm Manager

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Agricultural Diploma advantageous
    • Min of 3 previous years’ experience on a beef farming operation
    • Min of 3 years previous maize and wheat farm experience
    • Proven experience with pivots and irrigation
    • Previous combine harvesting experience

    Quality Control Supervisor

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 and relevant higher qualification
    • Computer literacy (Microsoft Tools)
    • Relevant experience in Citrus/Agriculture will be an added advantage.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS
    Operations

    • Monitoring the overall quality of a producer’s fruit, from intake/internals to line and cull factors, ensuring that QC
    • reports accurately reflect the quality observed and accurately captured.
    • Assisting quality controllers with pre-operational planning, troubleshooting problems and assisting with issues
    • escalation and communication
    • Responsible for the stock take of QC equipment and chemicals and ordering of new stock as and when needed to
    • avoid any testing delays or inaccuracies.

    Compliance

    • Ensure that the QC Team adheres to the Quality Compliance and Safety procedures.
    • Communication and Reporting
    • Ensure good communication and report quality concerns to the QC Manager
    • Monitor inspections must be done effectively and efficiently to ensure quick feedback to team and growers.

    General and Off-Season

    • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
    • Execute off-season tasks and responsibilities, which may vary from the above.
