PURPOSE
- To be responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electrical plant and equipment at wastewater works to achieve the highest plant and equipment availability with full regard for the safety of employees. To perform standby or after hour duties as and when required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Carry out implemented standards, policies under the direction of the Operational and Electrical Manager.
- Liaise with process and mechanical staff to ensure maximum plant availability to ensure compliance with wastewater effluent quality permit, as well as raw sewage spills target.
- Ensure and promote workplace safety in terms of OHASA, SANS and any other applicable codes of practice.
- Effectively manage, develop, and motivate subordinates towards the achievement of the section’s strategies and objectives.
- Carry out the scheduling, installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical equipment, including motors and associated control equipment including actuators and MV equipment situated at the Electro- Mechanical section.
- Keep abreast of, and where possible, implement new technology to ensure continuous, reliable, and safe supply of services and availability of plant.
- Monitor and implement safety requirements of all Electrical Installations, facilities, and staff in compliance with OHAS act including safety notices at all electrical installations, fire-fighting equipment and lifting equipment at the works.
- Carry out standby duties and after-hours duties as required and report and record all faults that occurred after hours to assist management with reducing future unnecessary overtime.

PURPOSE

PURPOSE
- Monitor the status of over 150 sites made up of: water storage, pump stations, sanitation, cathodic protection and bulk metering areas via the telemetry to the SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system in order to identify and evaluate problems and initiate corrective action.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor all critical facilities through the Telemetry-SCADA and reporting systems and decide on the most appropriate course of action in terms of trends, operational field activities and risks.
- Check the system for potential low or high levels to prevent reservoirs running dry or overflowing respectively.
- Ensure that Operations personnel are given early warning of potential storage incidents or immediate notification of pump station system failures to minimize the disruption of water and or sanitation services which leads to financial loss to the organization.
- Monitor the Control Room Station during the shift via the Telemetry-SCADA system to ensure that the system remains on-line 24 hours, 365 days a year.
- Assist Operations and key stakeholders by providing flow and reservoir trends from the Telemetry-SCADA system and inform Electrical Support Management of all system and telemetry faults that need to be attended to.

- Provision of comprehensive and centralized Fleet Management Services to JW’s core functions including Regions, and Works. Provision of Facilities Management Services for Head Office and Fennel Road Training Centre. Financial Management of Fleet and Facilities Management Services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare the departmental contributions to the Johannesburg Water strategic plan and the annual business plan.
- Develop systems and procedures for the management and control of the departmental performance and deliverables.

- Facilitate information sessions on new legislation e.g. AARTO to comply procedurally. Inform line managers on fleet exception reports on utilisation, e.g. fuel fraud, unauthorised use, and negligent driving and vehicle abuse.
