Duties include, but not limited to:
- Daily planning of production with the Production and Quality managers
- Stock taking - Planning and expediting
- Disciplinary action and daily management of staff
- Ensuring that deadlines are met timeously
- Plan processing of material for particular requirements
- Ensure that staff members are working according to goals that have been set in order to meet operational requirements
- Ensure that employees are properly trained and licensed for the machinery/equipment that they operate
- Ensure resources are used effectively so that maximum productivity is achieved
- Constant checking and controlling of quantity quality of products
- Plan services and maintenance of machines
- Ensure that Health and Safety procedures are followed
- Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained

Minimum Qualifying Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification or previous experience in a similar position
- A minimum of between 3 – 5 years’ experience in a production industry
- Computer literate - full Microsoft suite
- Valid Code 08 license and own vehicle
- Knowledge of maintenance planning
- Knowledge of production planning and goal setting
- Good knowledge of H&S regulations
- Supervisory, organisational, communication, customer relations and planning skills
- Flexible and willing to work shift and overtime

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to do basic mathematical calculations to ensure correct process parameters
- Accurate setup, adjustments, operation and maintenance of machinery/stands/ mechanism in the production line process
- Conduct daily inspection of relevant work area and report possible failures or unsafe working conditions
- Maintain standard machine operating procedures when operating machinery
- General maintenance and cleaning of the work area/workstation you are responsible for
- Must enforce and practice housekeeping policies
- Effectively monitor production process
- Ability to analyze potential failures and communicate accordingly with possible solutions in a timeous manner
- Ensure shift handover is conducted thoroughly and that all issues are reported clearly on a daily basis
- Abiding by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act and
Company policies
- Quality control according to set standards
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) as per tasks assigned
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Matric (Maths Compulsory)
- Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering

- Previous experience operating FEL / Forklift / Grab advantageous
- Experience working in the steel industry advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure in a demanding environment
