    Accountant: Management Accounting & Reporting

    Job Summary:

    To prepare monthly financial reporting with detailed variance analysis, budgets and forecasts and co-ordinate the external audit processes.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • To prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
    • To co-ordinate and chair the monthly meeting with all Heads of Department (HODs) on departmental expenditure, fixed assets and forecasting.
    • To ensure consistency in the Company budgeting process through the provision of guidelines and budget calendar, co-ordination of completion of templates, collation of information and consolidation of budget.
    • To manage the company budget approval process through the Executive Committee (Exco)
    • To disseminate and distribute the Board approved budget to HODs and upload on ERP system.
    • To co-ordinate the interim and year-end external audit process.
    • To co-ordinate the financial year-end processes to ensure deadlines are met.
    • To co-ordinate company-wide stock counts and report findings.
    • To ensure compliance to policies, processes, procedures and IFR standards.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

    • B Com (Hons) Accounting.
    • Completed articles (Preferable).
    • Minimum of 4 to 6 years Financial experience of which 2 years need to be in a management role.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Budgeting and financial management.
    • IFR standards and internal policies, procedures and processes.
    • Tax knowledge.
    • Reporting systems e.g. Insight.
    • Management and Cost accounting.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Communication (verbal and written) skills.

    Configuration Controller

    Purpose

    To ensure that all changes that affect products and processes within the South African Bank Note Company (SABN) are properly coordinated, configured, and controlled.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • To establish and maintain a proper baseline with regard to all raw materials, processes, final products, and naming conventions
    • To coordinate with the Configuration Board to ensure that all proposed changes are approved and implemented
    • To ensure compliance with all relevant Group requirements and legislation by liaising with appropriate stakeholders
    • To execute end-to-end configuration administration of all changes to ensure seamless implementation
    • To ensure that all configurations activities are properly carried out by effective utilisation of electronic document management system as well as manual systems
    • To ensure that all relevant stakeholders are made aware of changes
    • To ensure that remedial steps are taken in response to auditing
    • To adhere to all Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) regulations and standards in all activities

    The Ideal candidate is likely to have:

    • National Diploma in Engineering or Configuration
    • Total Quality Management, SAMTRAC will be an added advantage
    • 5 years in Configuration Management experience in the manufacturing environment (essential)
    • Quality Assurance experience will be added advantage

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Relevant standards, i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001
    • Relevant configurations management standards and methodologies
    • Configuration management systems
    • Documentation management principles (basic)
    • Relevant legislative framework, i.e. OHSA, COIDA, WCA, Environmental Acts

    Secretary: Executive

    Purpose:

    To provide administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Manager and ensure effective functioning of the department.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Co-ordinate the day-to-day operation of the department, provide administrative and secretarial support to the Executive and Head of Department.
    • Manage the daily schedule of the Executive and timeously update, distribute and keep record of all relevant documents.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate various meetings and maintain a consolidated list of action items flowing from various forums, committees and meetings
    • Ensures the Executive’s presentation materials are professionally prepared and communicated to relevant parties.
    • Collect information from various departments in order to collate reports, documentation and presentations.
    • Update dashboards to support the implementation of company quality systems, follow-up, escalate and resolve internal and external queries.
    • Make travel arrangements for management, visitors and process travel claims on the system.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures, provide support to the management on projects related to the department.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have

    • Matric
    • Diploma in Office Administration / Secretarial
    • 5 years’ experience in Office Administration with at least 2 years in a supporting role at Executive level

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Extensive knowledge of office administration and recordkeeping systems
    • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
    • Understanding of executive protocol and etiquette

    Operator Logistics

    Purpose:

    To pack and stack substrate & final product and operate forklift, battery cars, guillotines, shredders safely.

    Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • Preparation of product involving substrate and final product.
    • Safe operations of lifting equipment (Forklift, Power Pallet Truck, Reach Truck, Battery cars and Guillotine).
    • Clearly mark the product and stock items for identification.
    • Unpack final product for despatch on receipt from Finishing Department.
    • Pack and unpack cash in transit trucks (CIT).
    • Ensure all working areas are clean and tidy at all times.
    • Comply with all safety, health, environmental and risk requirements in handling all products.
    • Perform other tasks as assigned related to the role.

    The Ideal Candidate is likely to have:

    • Grade 12 (Essential)
    • Forklift Driver’s License (Essential)
    • Guillotine Operators Certificate (Desirable)
    • Compactor Operators (Desirable)
    • 1-2 years’ experience within a warehousing environment and forklift driving

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Packing and Stacking
    • Forklift, Guillotine, Compactor and Vaculex operation
    • Hazardous chemical handling training
    • Communication (verbal and written) skills
    • Computer literacy

    Operator: BPS

    Purpose

    To operate BPS machine and supervise Assistant Productions in the cubicle within the Finishing Department to ensure that good quality products are delivered to the customer on time in full.

    Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

    • To ensure that the product is safely stored and handled under dual control at all times.
    • To balance bank notes received and issued out to Logistics Department on a daily basis (cubicle balancing)
    • To operate the BPS machine and respond to prompts on the machine to load notes, plastic, bands etc. and to conduct autonomous maintenance on the BPS machine.
    • To write and communicate daily production reports in the Finishing Section for the cubicle.
    • To conduct spot checks in the cubicle to ensure high quality products are produced.
    • To assist with resolving work related problems or defects on the product in consultation with Section Head, and to conduct the performance appraisals for BPS Assistants.
    • To provide training to new employees and delegates duties to employees.
    • To ensure that the workplace and machines are cleaned daily in line with 20 Key standards.
    • To ensure safety and quality regulations and standards are adhered to and to report any incidents or injuries to Supervisor/Section Head.
    • Perform ad hoc duties as and when requested.

    The Preferred Candidate is likely to have:

    • Grade 12
    • N4 – N6 Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    • 1 – 2 years’ experience within a printing industry or in a similar operational role
