    Specialist : Technology

    Role Purpose

     

    To introduce and Integrate new technologies, features and strategies into the Vodacom network, and always be aware of technological changes that can provide Vodacom with a competitive lead across the network. Always have strategic plans aimed at seizing opportunities and dealing with competitive threats. Integrate modern RAN automation solutions.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • The introduction of new technologies, features and strategies into the Vodacom network for 5G ,LTE, UMTS, 2G, and others( Nb-IoT).
    • Ensure that new technologies are optimally working, without causing any degradation in the network.
    • Conducting sessions with Regional teams to ensure adherence to new guidelines.
    • Continuous review and alignment of RAN network strategies, and implement the latest technologies.(SON platforms)
    • Devise plans for new strategies that is aimed at improving customer data and voice experience, including projects such as Inter eNB CA , Active RAN sharing and spectrum pooling  with Rain.
    • Researching of future technologies, understanding the advantages and disadvantages, and implementing best global practices.
    • Providing support to regional teams, Core, NMG and Tx for Network Strategies and Optimization.
    • Providing support to our RAN sharing technology partners. ( Rain , Telkom , Liquid).
    • Facilitating knowledge sharing and upskilling, to NMG, and regional teams, to ensure correct deployment of new technologies, strategies and features.( Nb-IoT , ARS, IENBCA).

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year degree/diploma in electronic or telecommunication, equivalent or higher.
    • Strong experience in RAN planning and optimisation. (inclusive of basic 5G  knowledge is essential).
    • Knowledgeable of a wide range on RAT features and parameters across vendors with detailed knowledge of RAN vendors used in Vodacom SA (currently Huawei and Nokia). 
    • RAN performance counters and protocol stacks analytical skills.
    • Ability to utilise any PM counter tool of field measurement tools, such as Actix.

    Specialist: Management Information

    Role Purpose

    • To assist in managing the financial reporting process in the Company. To help align with Group framework and to help and submit accurate information to Senior Management on a timely basis.
       

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assist in contributing to the overall reporting process (definitions, segmentation, etc).
    • Assist in driving the month end data aggregation and the timely and accurate financial results submission in cooperation with other Finance teams.
    • Preparation of various monthly reporting packs of financial results and timely submission to finance community.
    • Ad hoc analysis as required by management.
    • Provide guidance and analysis on COPA (cost, profitability analysis & segment reporting) segments.
    • Assist in liaising with Group Finance for all matters relating to the monthly financial reports, as well as requests from Vodafone.
    • Assist in managing and implementing finance reporting projects as required by management.
    • Maintaining good relationships with all stakeholders.
    • Ensure single version of the truth.
    • Ensure high standard & adherence to all internal controls (Incl SOX Controls).
    • Ensures that internal controls are operating effectively to minimise inaccurate reporting and management information.

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • Matric/Grade 12.
    • B.Com degree essential.
    • At least 5 years Financial experience, spanning across various financial processes.
    • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and MS Projects.
    • Advanced ERP skills, focussed on SAP across various modules and good understanding of interaction with HFM.
    • Advanced levels of experience in financial and business analysis.
    • Experience in management  information and reporting.
    • Telecoms industry experience - advantageous.
    • Ability to work under pressure.
    • Tenacious, determined and able to deliver results within specified constraints.
    • Advanced working knowledge of excel spreadsheets.
    • Advanced working knowledge of Power Point, including graphical presentations.
    • Strong analytical skills.

    Specialist - Technology Security - Cyber Secure by Design

    Role Purpose

    • The primary purpose of the role is to work within a team of Secure by Design specialists, in collaboration with the Privacy and Business Risk Teams to Perform Secure by Design Assessments against Vodacom policies and standards. In performing this role you will
    • Identify potential cyber security risks for new products, services and operations and identify controls to minimise, mitigate or remove those privacy and security risks;
    • Review Design and implementation of the identified controls to ensure they are built into the product (at Design & Build stages); 
    • Provide assurance that privacy and security controls have been implemented before the product goes “live” and product complies with Vodacom/Vodafone Security requirements and applicable laws (at Test & Go-Live stages); 
    • 4.    Assess security and privacy risks arising from changes to existing live products that impact the processing of personal data (In-Life); and
    • 5.    Ensuring security and privacy risks are addressed when decommissioning these products (Decommissioning).

    Your Responsibilities will include:

    • Provide technology security assurance, guidance and support to high profile projects,   
    • Ensure security is embedded in IT System and Network Infrastructure (Mobile, IS and Enterprise) across the Vodacom Group
    • Defining, implementing, and efficiently maintaining technology security controls and requirements 
    • Ensure timely delivery of technology security assurance and support for projects, products and services.
    • Ensure compliance with Legal and Regulatory requirements 
    • Support Technology Security awareness programs and educational efforts within the business unit to which you are asssigned
    • Provide accurate and timely reporting of technology security risks identified during secure by design assessments, project engagement and propose remediation and mitigation options in line with policy and good practice

    The ideal candidate for this role will have:

    • 3 year Technical Diploma/Degree in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering
    • An industry certification. The CISSP is strongly preferred, however OSCP, CISM, CISA or other relevant certifications will be considered.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Tech Security role 
    • Knowledge of common information technology management / compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, ISF, PCI DSS, OWASP, SANS etc.
    • A deep understanding of Technology Security risks and mitigating solutions
    • A diverse security background with knowledge in several areas including: Security Assessment and Testing; Software Development Security; Security Governance and Risk Management; Security Architecture and Engineering; Communication and Network Security; Identity and Access Management; Security Operations; Asset Security.   Specialist experience in Either DevSecOps, Application Security, or Offensive Security will be an added advantage. 
    • Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows and Linux and how to secure them
    • Knowledge of and/ or experience  in creating and managing DevSecOps pipelines practicing CSA, SAST, DAST, and Security as Code will be an added advantage
    • Be well-versed in at least one of the programming languages like Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, and Perl so as to collaborate competently with software engineering teams within the organization to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and automation in the CI/CD pipeline. 
    • Knowledge of Cloud and container technologies such as AWS/GCP/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and how to implement developer tools such as GitHub and Dependency management will be an added advantage.

    Channel Specialist

    Role Purpose

    • To ensure implementation of Vodacom’s channel strategies Prepaid & National Chains and Emerging Markets within regional commercial counties. Typically reporting to Go-To-Market Manager.

    Job Responsibilty

    • Responsible for implementing channel deals, trade activations, pricing and propositions within regional counties.
    • Post-paid regional deals to be developed and implemented
    • Responsible for the implementation of trade marketing across counties – Sell-in/Sell-out/Sell-through.
    • Partner with the sales team in the counties to ensure achievement of sales and distribution targets per county
    • Provide a service to support channel strategy implementation within counties and execute regional channel strategy.
    • Monitor channel performance via regular reporting and tracking of sales activities within counties as well as quarterly reviews with key partners.
    • Monitor competitor deal activity and ensure gap closure through the development of competitor activity plans.
