    Stores Supervisor

    Description

    • Ensure the receipt, storage and issuing of material complies with requirements for safety, accessibility and legality
    • Control stock levels
    • Manage stock counts
    • Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained
    • Supervise employee’s performance objectives to ensure alignment with overall Materials Management objectives Ensure that IDP’s are linked to performance review outcomes
    • Coach and train team members to improve performance
    • Compile accurate reports on time in order to monitor the performance of the team
    • Assign duties to warehouse team as needed to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
    • Observe health and safety regulations, maintain warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition
    • Diesel Reconciliations - Diesel recon updated daily and sent to Procurement Manager
    • Knowledge and understanding of systems, processes and best practices:
    • Materials Management
    • Warehouse Management
    • Inventory Control
    • Adhere to policies and procedures and manage the systems necessary for effective management of the Stores operation.
    • Oversee stock counts and general stock control
    • Generate information and reports for internal and external use
    • Participate and comply with Safety and Health tool box
    • Comply to Legislation as set out in the MH&S Act and to organisational standards

    Requirements

    • Diploma (NQF 6) in warehouse and inventory management or other relevant qualification
    • Advanced diploma or degree (NQF 7) will be advantageous
    • At least 5 years relevant experience in the warehouse field
    • ERP experience, with working Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance and Operations experience preferred
    • Experience in a supply chain management
    • Experience in the mining sector
    • Computer Literacy (MS office and associated software)
    • Required to work Standby
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Valid certificate of physical fitness

    Environmental Coordinator

    Description

    • Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
    • Monitor and track environmental performance metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and best practices.
    • Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.
    • Stay current on environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices are maintained.
    • Oversee the planning and implementation of environmental projects, including water conservation and demand management, waste management, and energy efficiency initiatives.
    • Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on environmental issues and best practices.
    • Be conversant with ESG requirements. Support monitoring activities, including tracking Barberton Mines ESG commitments.

    Requirements

    • Recognized Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related  technical discipline.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance and management
    • Knowledge of local environmental regulations and standards
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
    • Advanced computer literacy

    Boilermaker

    Description

    • Fabricating from complex drawings and marking off basic regular engineering shapes. Cutting, drilling and punching, assembling and mechanically joining structural steel work.
    • Assembling and mechanically joining sheets, plates, tubes, pipes and steel sections. Performing heat treatment processes on engineering metals.
    • Maintaining belt conveyor components. Operating cranes, lifting and moving material and equipment by means of a forklift.
    • Attending to call-outs with regards to breakdowns. Write technical reports. Conduct on-the-job coaching.

    Shaft Timberman

    Description

    • Performing shaft maintenance and adhering to safety standards
    • Must have experience laying tracks, construction and blasting
    • Sound knowledge of inclined shafts
    • Responsible to handle, receive, store and issue explosives
    • Maintain clear blockages and repairs to shafts
    • Prepare conveyance for shaft examination and repairs
    • Relieve the Onsetter and/or Banksman periodically
    • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work areas
    • Control the utilization of allocated and other resources
    • Identify deviations or non-conformances, plan and implement corrective actions to ensure
    • Attainment of production plan
    • Install, maintain, support and remove temporary support in mining excavations
    • Monitor and maintain a safe and healthy working environment in the work place
    • Perform risk assessments (Activity Based and Mini)
    • Responsible for collecting, handling, transporting and storing explosives if required
    • Responsible for examining, making and declaring workplaces safe and healthy for work
    • Responsible for planning, controlling, leading and organising repairs and breakdowns in the Shaft
    • Perform administrative duties to ensure record accuracy and availability, budget compliance, spares availability and HSE compliance.
    • Ensure implementation and adherence to the Mine’s Health Safety and Environmental COP’s, policies, procedures and legal requirements 

    Requirements

    • Grade 12/or NQF Level 4 (relevant to position)
    • Valid Onsetter Certificate and a Permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
    • 3 years underground experience
    • Computer Literate
    • Ability to read and write English
    • Ability to communicate with people on different levels

    Winding Engine Driver

    Description

    • Facilitate the safe hoisting of persons, materials and ore, up and down the shaft
    • Record conditions of winding engine daily
    • Responsible for the safe movement of men and material in a conveyance or skip
    • Responsible for transmitting and reacting to signals
    • Responsible to complete drivers log book daily and to list stoppages and reasons daily
    • Advise and make recommendations to the Banks man and Cage Attendant regarding simplification of work during shift
    • Verify load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities to prevent overload
    • Be able to verify the weight of a load
    • Inspect and test winder for legal compliance
    • Perform risk assessments (General and Mini)
    • Physically operate the winding engine to hoist and lower men, materials and ore in the shaft in compliance with the Minerals Act
    • Prepare shift operation reports, record breakdowns and levels of productivity and report to the relevant stakeholders at the end of the shift
    • Required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected of him/her within the Company from time to time
    • Work rotational shifts, overtime, do standby and be available for call-outs should the need arise
    • Work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done

    Requirements

    • Grade 12 Certificate or Relevant Educational Qualifications.
    • Valid AC & DC Winding Engine drivers Certificate
    • Valid Onsetter’s Certificate
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience
    • Valid certificate of physical fitness
    • Valid Driver License
    • Computer Literacy
