    ​Town Planner

    • Salary: Task grade 12 of category 1 Municipality.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric;
    • National Diploma or Degree in Town and Regional Planning
    • 3 years' experience in Municipal Planning;
    • Computer literacy Skills including proficiency in Microsoft Application.
    • Professional Registration with South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) will be an added advantage.
    • Valid driver's license
    • Good communication skills.

    Key Performance Areas Include but not limited to:

    • Planning, organizing, co-ordination, management and control of activities of the Planning component - strategic and spatial planning, development administration and information management.
    • Compilation of Spatial Development Frameworks (SDF) as part of Integrated Development Plan (IDP) processes.
    • Co-ordinate and develop presentations and supporting material for all public engagements.
    • Providing advice, assistance and support on town and regional planning issues;
    • Supporting the participating municipalities in the district on town and regional planning issues, as approved by the respective Heads of Planning.
    • Co-ordinate land use based on the Integrated Development Plan and Land Use Management Systems.
    • Formulation and revision of policies, by-laws and Town Planning Schemes relating to planning and development.

    Local Economic Development Officer

    • Salary: Task grade 11 of category 1 Municipality.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric;
    • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in the following fields: Development Studies, Local Economic Development, Business Administration or relevant qualification.
    • 3 years' experience in the relevant field;
    • Certification in Project Management and registration with relevant professional bodies will be an added advantage.
    • Computer literacy Skills including proficiency in Microsoft Application.
    • Valid driver's license
    • Good communication skills.

    Key Performance Areas Include but not limited to:

    • Provide support to SMMEs and cooperative through communication and development. Engage and form partnership with private sector and potential investor for investment opportunities for the municipality.
    • Create opportunities for the implementation of district events.
    • Engage national and provincial government for funding opportunities for economic development projects.
    • Identifies opportunities about local economic development.
    • Assist municipality with development and implementation of LED plans and project.
    • Assist in assessing the overall progress of strategy, programmes and projects by setting measures, targets and monitoring achievements.
    • Assist in preparation and compilation of business plan.
    • Set up development programmes for previously disadvantage individuals.
    • Facilitate and monitor the implementation of LED, agriculture, tourism and rural development project.
    • Seek business opportunities, funding and start up finance for local SMMEs and economic empowerment formations.
    • Monitors the functionality of LED for LED working groups.
    • Identify key performance areas associated with the formulation and execution of programmes and initiatives to drive Local Economic Development in the municipality.
    • Handling of all development administration issues within the participating municipalities. And any other duties that may be assigned by the employer.

    • Coordination of local Businesses workshops
    • Coordinate Local Businesses Compliance for both Formal and Informal Businesses.

    Librarian

    • ​​​​​Salary: Task Grade 12 of category 1 Municipality

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT

    • Matric
    • B Degree in Library and Information Science as a major (B Degree in Library and Information Science (LIS))
    • Or, B Degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Science Prerequisite subjects: Descriptive Cataloguing and Classification
    • Computer Literacy - MS Office
    • 3 years' experience of which 2 years should be in a professional library position

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Driver's License
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to work under pressure
    • Required to work on Saturdays
    • Required to work according to a roster or as otherwise required

    Registry Clerk

    • Salary: Task Grade 5 of category 1 Municipality

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12.
    • Diploma in Public Management, or equivalent.
    • 1-2-year experience in the relevant field.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines. Must be computer literate.
    • Unquestionable integrity and honesty.

    KEY PERFOMANCE AREAS

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
    • Preparing all incoming and outgoing correspondence for distribution, marking and checking file numbers
    • Preparing resolutions of committee of council and other documents received for filling in the appropriate files, folder
    • Filing documents on subject's sundry and erf files
    • Closing files and opening new volumes by preparing new files covers
    • Marking our erf files to relevant officials and ensuring that files have been signed off Handling of confidential files and documents
    • Referring to previous correspondence on files to ensure that correct filing is placed on files and to ensure there is no duplication
    • Placing documents on relevant files and providing serial numbers
    • Opening incoming mail and sort mail into categories i.e. cheques, letters, private mail, A A invoices etc.
    • Stamping private mail received and recording same on computer and return private mail to post office
    • Assist with enquires on files, request received electronically as well as telephonic enquiries
    • Updating and opening of consolidating Erf files
    • Ensure that records are filed in classification systems which provide for quick and efficient retrieval and facilitate the implementation of authorized disposal and retention Separate closed volumes, current and terminated records
    • File all council committee minutes in a safe environment
    • Ensure that maintenance is done according to procedures laid by Archives Services
    • Assist with the cutting and binding all printed documentation including all the agendas and minutes according to specific departmental requirements relating to size, colour, etc. Assist the Records Manager in conducting records management inspection to ensure sound records management.
    • Update inventories in collaboration with Senior Librarian
    • Assist Chief Librarian with compilation of annual budget
    • Maintenance of computer system in collaboration with Senior Librarian
    • Compile reports when required
    • Execution of any other work related task delegated by Senior Librarian
