    Office and Travel Administrator

    Description:

    The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills, written and verbal communication skills, as well as competency in Microsoft office applications. 

    Office and Asset Maintenance Administration

    • Ensure the effective co-ordination of office maintenance, ensuring that issues highlighted through the maintenance email address and maintenance book is resolved timeously.
    • Create and maintain the Company’s asset register and the correct disposal of assets in accordance with the governing legislation and regulations (environmental regulations, OHS act etc.).
    • Ensure all vehicles are insured, maintained and licensed.
    • Liaise with the Landlords of the building and service providers in accordance with scheduled times and as and when required. (Cleaners, Fumigation, Fire, Security, furniture removals, interior decorators, carpet cleaning, blinds etc.).
    • Collect and deliver mail to and from the post office.
    • Ensuring that the generators are fueled and available in an emergency
    • Co-ordinate the office moves and changes effectively, timeously and in accordance with company policies, procedures, and the applicable legislation.
    • Provide administrative support to the Operational Management  (OpsCo) Team
    • Sit at reception when the receptionist is not available. 

    Travel Administration

    • Ensure the effective co-ordination of staff travel and accommodation arrangements, including the administration relating to the foreign evacuation.  This includes ensuring that all travel arranged is billed to the appropriate project including own time.
    • Effective resource and equipment management (Vehicles, Boardrooms etc.)

    Health and Safety

    • Provide Health and Safety Administration assistance to the Health and Safety Chairperson, this includes arranging meetings, minute taking, letter typing, agenda’s etc.
    • You will need to complete the Health and Safety Representative, First Aid and Fire Fighter Training to effectively carry out this work.
    • Ensure that weekly office checks in accordance with Health and Safety requirements are carried out to identify and address any issues.  These must be submitted to the Group Office Manager by the end of every Monday, every week.
    • Where maintenance or other issues relating to Health and Safety are identified through the office checks, you will be required to address or co-ordinate with the Landlord/ Maintenance team to rectify.
    • Ensure the First Aid Kits are appropriately stocked, and correct Health and Safety signage is visible.

    Requirements:

    • Must have a Drivers License and be willing to drive.  A Driver assessment will be completed prior to appointment.

    • Intrapersonal skills (build rapport etc.)
    • Communication (Verbal and written)
    • Strong Customer Service focus.
    • Good time management skills.

    Manager, Terrestrial Biodiversity

    What You'll Do:

    Job Purpose:

    • Conduct ecological assessments to inform development planning and meet environmental authorization requirements.
    • Perform vegetation assessments, including terrestrial biodiversity, avifauna, mammals, herpetology, botany, and alien plant surveys.
    • Apply biodiversity offset principles.
    • Provide technical expertise in recognizing potential offset entities and appropriate metrics.
    • Compile and review specialist reports and project proposals.
    • Stay informed on country-specific legislation and its project impacts.
    • Collaborate closely with specialists from other disciplines.
    • Coordinate and conduct fieldwork under strenuous conditions.
    • Liaise with clients and authorities.
    • Write and compile reports for clients and necessary authorities.
    • Ensure high-quality standards and defensible deliverables.
    • Continuously improve departmental services, including species-specific monitoring programs.

    Department Management:

    • Manage recruitment and selection processes in line with the workforce plan.
    • Oversee onboarding for new employees.
    • Handle performance management and probation processes.
    • Report on departmental performance.
    • Manage departmental financial expenditure against the budget.
    • Ensure effective workload and resource management.
    • Achieve departmental revenue targets.
    • Mentor and develop the team.

    Business Development and Marketing:

    • Develop a business plan with services and selling opportunities.
    • Act as a key account manager, identifying business opportunities and maintaining a client-centric approach.
    • Identify leads, organize, plan, and track proposals.
    • Coordinate and submit proposals.

    Requirements:

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • M.Sc. degree in Zoology or a related field.
    • Six or more years of relevant experience, preferably in a consulting environment.
    • At least five years of conducting specialist studies.
    • Experience in the resources industry.
    • International experience is a plus for endemic species identification and ecological condition assessment.
    • Two or more years of team management experience.

    Other Requirements:

    • Passion for the natural world and conservation.
    • Strong time and budget management skills.
    • Proven project management track record.
    • Excellent knowledge of Environmental and Mining Legislation.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Customer-oriented with strong technical expertise in faunal assessments.
    • Professional registration (e.g., Pr.Sci.Nat. with SACNASP) is beneficial.
    • Valid driver’s license and excellent report writing skills.
    • Willingness to travel throughout Africa and beyond as needed.
