JOB PURPOSE:

• To perform various managerial, administrative and technical tasks associated with the provision of specialized technical, basic and advance training programs to personnel as well as fire education and life safety training to the public. Furthermore, perform command and control management functions as the Fire Department Safety Officer.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POST:

• Grade 12

OTHER REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

• SAESI Diploma in Fire Service Technology or IFE diploma in Fire Engineering Science: or and equivalent higher service-related qualifications
• Valid Level 3 First Aid qualifications
• Fire Service Instructor 1 (NFPA 1041)

EXPERIENCE:

• 8 years continuous service in a recognised Fire Service environment

JOB PURPOSE:

• Responsible for design, update and maintenance of the Asset Management Plan and the Geographical Information System (GIS) database of the Electro-Technical Services Division, including activities and duties related to the development of an asset management plan, asset plan maintenance, database information management, GIS management, maintenance of GIS infrastructure, as well as attending to GIS data capturing, maintenance and storage, data analysis, GIS cartography and data publishing, GIS user training, operations and maintenance of assets, asset disposal, maintaining schematic switch diagram and vehicle maintenance responsibilities.

• National Diploma NQF Level 6 in Geographic Information Services

JOB PURPOSE:

• To ensure and monitor that the required safety regulations as laid down by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and south African Nationals Standards for the wiring of premises is adhered to by all and to perform inspections and test installations at building and premises to ensure the safety of the public regarding electrical installations.
