    Assistant General Worker (Gauteng)

    Description

    • To provide general site assistance and support.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate with site teams to support the achievement of operational goals and targets.
    • Assist with daily inspections of the designated area of responsibility, report any deviations or hazards.
    • Support pipeline and valve operations (under supervision).
    • Assist with problem-solving of operational challenges and escalate deviations to site teams.
    • Assist with any general assigned site activities as required to support operations.
    • Perform basic housekeeping duties in work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
    • Execute all assigned tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Comply with all safety rules, regulations and company procedures.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Grade 12 / or equivalent

    EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of one-year relevant experience

    Senior Superintendent (Mokopane)

    Description

    • The role exists to execute multiple large and small-scale projects. Oversee safety, risk, technical and commercial management. Overall systems, processes and people management. Interact verbally with operations teams, clients and senior operations management and horizontally with broad business operations in the Division.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Business/Functional Management

    • Execute project responsibilities in line with organisational strategy, in order to achieve set goals.
    • Effectively utilise resources in line with project strategy, to ensure effective project delivery.

    Financial, Commercial & Contracts Management

    • Implement financial, commercial and contracts management processes and procedures, as set by the organisation, and give inputs to contracts structuring.
    • Monitor programme by marking up and taking corrective action where necessary.

    Risk Management & Compliance, incl. ESG responsibility

    • Ensure all project risks and opportunities are identified, and mitigating actions implemented and monitored; as well as aligning all stakeholders as is relevant, for their area of responsibility; elevate risks as appropriate.

    Stakeholder Management (Internal/External)

    • Promote ongoing open communication with Client representatives such as Resident Engineer and other key internal stakeholders to foster good relations, through appropriate forums and interfaces.

    Operations & Project Management

    • Implement and execute management and production controls, measures and reports for a specific site, taking corrective action to ensure effective and efficient delivery of site project objectives.

    Management of Operating System & Reporting

    • Implement appropriate management operating system, including forecasts, plans, targets, controls, measures, data management and trend analysis, reports and forums, for the site, to ensure effective management decision-making, performance management and corrective action.

    Technical Management

    • Implement relevant quality and technical standards as agreed for the site.
    • Fulfil required duties as per regulatory appointment to ensure technical standards are met and maintained on Site.

    SHEQ Management

    • Establish and manage the site's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality plans in accordance with the latest mining and tailings regulations as well as company policy and procedural provisions.

    Staff Management

    • Coach, mentor and develop staff as appropriate to improve performance.
    • Monitor and manage performance of subordinate staff in compliance with the Performance Management policy and processes.

    Culture & Climate

    • Ensure a positive work context is established for all internal and subcontracting staff on the site. 
    • Build a culture of continuous improvement for the duration of the project

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree or B-Tech qualification in Mining / Metallurgical /Civil Engineering or similar
    • Project management qualification would be advantageous

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum five years relevant experience in respect of managing tailings and/or remining sites
    • General Mining Production experience would be an advantage
    • Experience in planning and setting up tailing's projects, preferably at Superintendent level or higher

    • Knowledge of national legislation, standards and bylaws applicable to tailings environment

    Human Resource Development Officer (Gauteng)

    Description

    • This position exists to ensure efficient management of sites in a specific area to achieve contractual objectives. The position manages the effective deployment of all resources in line with the benefit of the site. (e.g. staff, labour, plant, and materials).

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Training and Evaluation on Practical and Theory

    • Conduct theoretical training using updated training material.
    • Continuously perform practical operator evaluations.
    • Support ongoing improvement of training effectiveness, materials, equipment, presentations, and delivery methods.

    ​​​​​​​Update Licenses

    • Conduct evaluations for license updates.
    • Follow-up on PTO training requirements.
    • Perform regular spot checks.

    ​​​​​​​Course Development

    • Provide information for course development.
    • Submit monthly reports on daily changes and updates.

    ​​​​​​​Communication

    • Communicate with Site Agents regarding problem areas.
    • Maintain daily communication with Supervisors and Operators.
    • Liaise regularly with the Training Specialist/Manager.
    • Attend site communication forums. 

    ​​​​​​​Administration

    • Maintain and update employee training records on site.
    • File copies of all certificates.
    • Update training matrix regularly.
    • Compile and submit monthly training reports.
    • Perform administrative duties related to training activities.

    ​​​​​​​SOP Training

    • Train personnel on all relevant SOPs, STPs, Standard Procedures, and COPs for the site.
    • Ensure all training documentation is filed in personal training files.

    ​​​​​​​SHEQ

    • Assist Operators with hazard identification and risk assessments.
    • Support Operators in addressing environmental issues.
    • Assist Operators with safety-related matters.

    ​​​​​​​Reporting and Administration

    • Provide scheduled and ad hoc management reports.
    • Compile skills plan and reports for SETAs.
    • Ensure all training documentation complies with ISO standards.
    • Develop and deliver presentations when required.
    • Maintain all training records for SETA audit and compliance purposes.

    ​​​​​​​Operator Selection

    • Identify operators suitable for future training.
    • Asist with operators' recruitment and selection processes.

    ​​​​​​​Work Independently

    • Work independently and use initiative when problems arise on site.
    • Asist supervisors with operator needs.
    • Be available on standby as required.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • National Diploma in Mineral Processing or related field.

    Training/Certificates:

    • Qualified Facilitator.
    • Assessor registered with MQA.
    • Moderator registered with MQA.
    • Skills Programme – operate mobile machinery for surface excavation operations with MQA.
    • Advantageous: Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, Knowledge of LMS, Virtual Reality, and Dover Systems.

    ​​​​​​​EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 3 years’ industrial experience as a multi-skilled operator on earthmoving equipment. (e.g., FEL, ADT, Grader, TLB, etc.).
    • At least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in training operators on earthmoving equipment.
    • Strong production background in earthmoving operations.

    • Training needs analysis and employee development planning.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Reporting, administration, and record-keeping.
