    Distribution FR Learner

    Overall Objectives

    • Operate material handling equipment and performing tasks, including but not limited to loading, unloading, scanning, moving, staging, storing, locating, relocating and staking materials/ products to ensure daily warehouse and distribution activities are successfully executed.
    • Administrative tasks in the planning, customer care, warehouse and distribution team.

    Core Responsibilities

    Read shipping order or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered and or distributed.

    Prepare products for shipment, ensure that for all customer shipments, the correct batches were picked, materials are clean, correctly labelled, palletized and wrapped before leaving the site.

    Receipt/ offloading containers/ trucks of incoming materials, ensure goods are received in an orderly manner according to standards set.   Sort and place materials/products on racks, shelves, or bins according to requirements.

    • Prepare unused materials for discard.
    • Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Maintain warehouse and distribution equipment by keeping it clean and safe, reporting service requests as needed.
    • Housekeeping of warehouse/ distribution area (inside and outside)
    • Conduct operations in compliance with company guidelines and public regulations in a manner which promotes safety.
    • Support the Warehouse, Distribution, Customer care and Planning team with administrative tasks as required.
    • Execute other reasonable tasks as required and assigned by management

    Academic Background

    • Minimum requirement – grade 12

    Skills and Abilities

    • Physically fit to lift and handling heavy equipment
    • Forklift and stacker licence
    • Strong written and oral communication

    Portfolio Expert I

    In this exciting role, you will:

    • You will pro-actively build the local flavour collection by selecting the best flavours leveraging technical information, sensory panelling techniques and commercials insights, in alignment with countrycommercial strategy.
    • You will execute daily selection briefs and call customers to get additional relevant technical and brand information and select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and build the value proposition.
    • You will serve as local technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for on our existing product portfolio.  You will empower the larger FC&A and commercial teams in selecting flavours from collections.
    • You will communicate content and updates on collections on a regular basis to technical and commercial teams including tasting.  You will lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for existing portfolio flavours.
    • You will actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles and relevant information.  You will support the marketing team in developing external promotions to key customers.
    • You will maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines.

    Your professional profile includes:

    • Polytechnic or B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology and 4 - 6 years experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)
    • Masters Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, and 2 - 3 years experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area (preferred)

    Technical competencies

    • Understanding of selected food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers’ food manufacturing environment
    • Basic understanding of many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products
    • Basic understanding of Sensory, Consumer Understanding and Brands
    • Basic project management skills and the ability to successfully lead flavour selection projects
    • Ability to effectively hold technical customer calls
    • Ability to translate market trends into locally relevant collections
