    IT Support Engineer

    Job Overview:

    • Our client, a growing IT services provider, is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join their team.
    • The successful candidate will provide remote and onsite support to business clients, manage Microsoft 365 environments, maintain servers and network infrastructure, assist with cloud projects, and proactively monitor and troubleshoot client systems.
    • This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys working across multiple client environments, can manage competing priorities, and is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
    • The role is primarily office-based, with client site visits being infrequent. The successful candidate must be willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved where needed. As part of a small, close-knit team, everyone contributes across various areas of the business. The successful candidate may also be required to assist and mentor Junior Technicians when necessary.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • CompTIA A+ and N+ certifications would be an advantage
    • 4+ years' IT support experience.
    • Previous experience with an outsourced IT / Managed Service Provider (MSP) firm would be highly advantageous
    • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
    • Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
    • Experience with Azure AD / Entra ID.
    • Experience with DNS and DHCP.
    • Experience with Hyper-V or Proxmox virtualization.
    • WHM/cPanel Hosting experience would be an advantage
    • FortiGate Firewalls experience would be an advantage
    • Valid driver's licence and reliable transport to get to work (pool car available for client site visits)
    • Self-starter who is eager to learn and work independently
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across client environments

    Duties will include but is not limited to:

    • Provide remote and onsite IT support to clients.
    • Manage Microsoft 365 environments including user administration and troubleshooting.
    • Maintain and support Windows Server environments.
    • Configure and troubleshoot networking infrastructure.
    • Manage virtualization platforms including Hyper-V or Proxmox.
    • Support hosting environments including WHM/cPanel.
    • Assist with cybersecurity and firewall management.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of client environments.
    • Deliver excellent customer service and communication to clients.
    • Participate in occasional after-hours support when required.

    Solar Electrical Technician

    Job Overview: 

    • Our client, a well-established company within the commercial and industrial renewable energy sector, is looking for a hands-on Solar Electrical Technician to join their growing team.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, fault finding and testing of commercial solar PV systems and related electrical equipment. The role involves working on project sites, supporting Engineers and Project Managers, ensuring installations meet quality and safety standards, and assisting with project handovers.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 2+ years' experience as a Solar Electrical Technician, PV Technician, Electrician or in a similar electrical role.
    • Previous experience within the solar PV industry.
    • Experience with the installation, commissioning and fault finding of solar PV systems.
    • Experience working with solar inverters.
    • Experience with battery storage systems will be advantageous.
    • Ability to use electrical testing equipment.
    • Good understanding of electrical installations and fault finding.
    • Valid driver's licence.
    • Willingness to travel to project sites

    Duties, but not limited to:
    Installation & Electrical Work

    • Install solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage systems and associated electrical equipment.
    • Route, terminate and connect electrical cabling in accordance with project specifications.
    • Ensure installations comply with applicable electrical and safety standards.

    Commissioning

    • Perform pre-commissioning inspections and testing.
    • Commission and configure solar inverters and related equipment.
    • Conduct system start-up, testing and performance verification.
    • Assist Engineers in ensuring systems perform according to design specifications.

    Fault Finding & Maintenance

    • Diagnose and repair faults on solar PV systems, inverters and associated electrical equipment.
    • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance.
    • Replace faulty electrical components where required.
    • Respond to site call-outs and technical issues when necessary.

    Quality Assurance

    • Identify and rectify installation defects before project handover.
    • Ensure work complies with project specifications and company quality standards.
    • Assist with final inspections and system handovers.

    Site & Project Support

    • Conduct site inspections.
    • Assist Engineers with technical evaluations and site activities.
    • Work closely with Site Supervisors and Project Managers to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
    • Monitor workmanship and maintain high installation standards.

    Documentation & Reporting

    • Complete installation, commissioning and maintenance reports.
    • Record test results, faults and corrective actions.
    • Assist with commissioning packs and project handover documentation.

    Health & Safety

    • Adhere to all electrical regulations, company policies and health & safety procedures.
    • Wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately.
