    Commercial Associate

    Overview

    • Our Commercial Department has a vacant position for a qualified Attorney. We are looking for an energetic and highly driven candidate to become part of this well-established and growing practice. The ideal candidate is confident with excellent written and oral communication abilities, ability to handle multiple priorities and well experienced in Commercial Law and Commercial Litigation.  If you enjoy commercial work and litigation and have the desire to take your career to the next level, then this is for you.     Minimum required experience and competencies:

    • Admitted Attorney with 3 to 5 years post admission experience
    • Completed B Com Law and LLB degrees
    • Post graduate qualifications (beneficial)
    • 3 to 5 years post admission experience in High Court litigation - Commercial matters
    • Experience in drafting pleadings, applications and court notices
    • Proficient in Court Online and Case Lines
    • Experience in drafting of Commercial Agreements
    • Experience in Data Privacy and Consumer Law (beneficial)
    • Experience in Company Secretarial work (beneficial).
    • The candidate should be self motivated, meticulous, dedicated, and an analytical thinker who thrives on finding solutions to challenging and complex legal issues.

    Key responsibilities and duties:

    • The duties and responsibilities of the Commercial Associate will include, but not be limited to:
    • Attending to client consultations and taking of instructions;
    • Accurate drafting of Court pleadings, applications and notices;
    • Accurate compilation of comprehensive commercial quotations;
    • Ensuring that all litigation matters are properly managed;
    • Ensuring accurate and timeous drafting or reviewing of all legal documents i.e. contracts, agreements and letters of demand;
    • Ensuring accurate and timeous briefing of counsel and relevant third parties and ensure adequate pre-consultation preparation;
    • Ensuing that files are managed efficiently (Company files, client files, counsel files and court copies);
    • Adhering to FICA requirements and ensuring that the relevant documentation is completed accurately;
    • Ensuring that all client queries are acknowledged immediately and resolved timeously including invoice queries and other general queries;
    • Updating clients and all other relevant parties on a regular basis regarding the status of matters/ instructions or queries;
    • Ensuring that legal advice and knowledge is sound and competent;
    • Ensure billing requirements for specific clients are adhered to in accordance with client's instructions;
    • Ensuring effective management of debtors i.e., when working on a file determining whether there is an outstanding account and following up for payment;

    Renewals Administrator

    Overview

    • Are you an individual who pays attention to detail with excellent written communication skills? Do you understand people, systems and priorities?  Are you able to work independently? We are looking for work focussed individual to fill a renewals administrative position in our renewals department.

    Minimum required experience and competencies:

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Computer literacy a must - Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Knowledge of Patricia and Elite will be highly advantageous
    • Ability to prioritise work efficiently
    • A strong sense of teamwork

    • Ability to maintain composure during stressful situations

    Key responsibilities and duties:

    Key responsibilities of the renewals administrative assistant will include, but not be limited to, the following:  

    • Renewal & Recordal Coordination: Send timely and accurate renewal reminders to clients, and issue instructions to agents upon client confirmation.
    • Manage Client Instructions: Assess and process client instructions for renewals and recordals, ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
    • Document Management: Obtain and manage supporting documentation.
    • Filing & Record-Keeping: Accurately file applications and maintain updated records in Patricia and Elite systems.
    • Invoicing: Prepare and process client invoices in line with billing preferences and internal procedures.
    • Database & Termlist Management: Maintain and update termlists and internal systems to reflect current statuses and ensure all case records are up to date.
    • Client Communication: Use designated communication channels to correspond with clients, resolving queries and providing updates timeously. Ensure all communications and documents are correctly saved.
    • Compliance & Workflow Adherence: Follow internal workflows, ISO procedures, and client-specific requirements meticulously.
    • Team & Firm Support: Assist in the smooth day-to-day running of the department, contribute to a productive work environment, and manage time and resources effectively.
    • Ad-hoc Support: Be flexible and proactive in assisting with any additional administrative or compliance duties as needed.
