    DA - Trade Compliance and Customs Handling Specialist

    Your primary focus is to drive the compliance to trade, customs export control regulations across supply chain and operations for the Philips DA products in South Africa. You own the local process and are responsible to liaise with different internal and external stakeholders to enable smooth import and export of products.

    Further, your key responsibilities are to:

    • Manage operational activities related to customs and Export Control
    • Acts as helpdesk for internal customs inquiries  and provides functional support for Customs (system) internal and external
    • At local level participates in customs audits and support in projects
    • Export Control master data maintenance in SAP kernels (ECCN and SGI)
    • Screening of transactional data on SPL and classification data (ECCN/SGI).
    • Manage releasing the false blocks on SPL and missing classification data.
    • Use PROTECT and GTS (export control tools).
    • Coordinating Trade Compliance Specialist projects (SCM)
    • Ensuring correct application and archiving and prepare/execute reports
    • Executing trade compliance plan linked to SCM.
    • Supporting role (Markets, BG’s, SVAL) for Goods Flow Control Board and FTA’s
    • Drives continuous improvement in customs, export control and trade compliance
    • Supports inbound and outbound activities of the DC
    • Executes daily checks of interfaces between SAP/LSP systems
    • Manage the warehouse and transport service providers
    • Ensures stock in SAP is in line with the stock in WMS
    • Coordinates the rework activities of stocks and stocks with product quality issues

    You are a part of

    This role is part of the DA commercial operations team Africa in Philips. The position reports to the head of commercial operations DA Africa, located in Johannesburg. You will be working closely with the South Africa operations team and 3rd party logistics & customs broker. You will be working in an international environment where cross functional teams are located across the world.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • 5+ years of working experience in operations and customs/trade compliance. Experience in an International working environment is required
    • BSc in supply chain area and relevant customs training
    • Advanced Customs knowledge around physical goods flows from supplier to the end customer
    • Advanced knowledge on Trade Compliance, South African Customs rules and regulations.
    • Ability to work independent
    • Ability to prioritize and drive issues to closure based on business impact
    • Ability to consult, influence and manage stakeholders, both internally and externally

    DA - Consumer Marketing Manager

    The Consumer Marketing Manager is responsible for all marketing activities for a certain product portfolio in a sales environment. It includes the business plan for the product portfolio, brand management, and marketing communications. The business plan includes the sales plan, expected revenues, chosen business model and sales channels, product portfolio and prices. This in cooperation with the sales force. The Consumer Marketing Manager has a shared responsibility with sales for the total business for his product portfolio, within the assigned country, cluster, or region. The job is the linking pin between sales (country or region) and product creation groups. The Consumer Marketing Manager defines the requirements for marketing services (trade marketing, category management, marketing communications), but in many cases the operational trade marketing and category management is the responsibility of sales management.

    You are responsible for

    • Defines implements and monitors marketing strategy and plan for the assigned products and new products in liaison with sales and the product creation groups.
    • Translates the marketing strategy and plan into a business plan, with supporting launch plans and other required actions to meet the planned results.
    • Define with the BLs, or region, the product portfolio, the product positioning, pricing, distribution, services, and promotion plan, which should contribute to optimised sales value, product mix, and volume to deliver the agreed targets.
    • Sets and manages margin and pricing policies, ensuring effective implementation in the sales plans. Responsible for local or regional consistency in pricing and product range.
    • Owns the sales forecast and manages slow moving or outdated inventory. Resolve or escalate product allocation issues, in case of supply restrictions.
    • Initiates (corrective) actions and formulates marketing support requirements, validated by sales management in order to improve on business objectives.
    • Defines the distribution- and channel mix according to criteria set by General management.
    • Product marketing for a subset of products (more critical or strategic), either in a country or cluster.
    • Creates the launch of new products.
    • Defines and implements the marketing plan, according to the given marketing strategy.
    • Deals with all marketing aspects.
    • Defines requirements for marketing services.
    • Sets and manages margins and prices.
    • Resolves product allocation issues.
    • Manage the distribution and channel mix.
    • Drives local processes towards cost efficiency.
    • Manage distributional and channel mix, according to criteria set by management
    • Set up product launch programs for new products.
    • Manages the chosen distribution and channel mix for the assigned products.
    • Definition of required marketing services.
    • Support to sales at national key accounts.

    To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

    • Minimum undergraduate qualification, preferably in Marketing
    • Minimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in a strategic marketing function
    • Multinational matrix organisation experience
    • Multi – country (Africa) experience
    • Working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organisation
    • Ideally experienced in small domestic appliance marketing, FMCG or consumer electronics
    • Sense of urgency, adaptability and drive
    • Self-starter, resourceful and always willing to take on more
    • Creativity and entrepreneurship, unwilling to accept status quo
    • Attention to detail, solid organization & time management
    • Problem analysis and problem-solving
    • Critical thinking and recommendation making skills
