    Branch Consultant/Financial Advisor - Stanger - Eshowe, KwaZulu Natal

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • To promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM)’s products and increase market share through:
      • Providing sound financial advice and a high level of client service in a Branch context.
      • Creating opportunities for client optimisation and cross selling of value-added services.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Sales delivery

    • Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of SRM product ranges.
    • Gain an understanding of the customer’s needs, financial goals and means, and provide the right product (or selection of products) that will satisfy the goals of the customer in the best and most affordable way possible.
    • Continuously update and inform customers of new products, or changes in existing products. Manage, review, and incorporate the implications of product changes on the customer’s portfolio accordingly.
    • Validate client details in line with product and regulatory requirements. Submit new business through the right channels.
    • Conduct due diligence on clients to identify and flag risks.
    • Manage own capacity to ensure daily appointments are being prioritised while allowing time for and capitalising on walk-in / non-appointment clients.

    In-branch client service and client retention

    •  Responsible for servicing and managing all client profiles to ensure clients remain on the books.
      • Send payment reminders, conduct follow-ups, and remain in contact to address potential queries or to provide support.
      • Manage and report on NTUs (clients Not Taken Up) by putting controls in place, and taking corrective actions where required.
      • Manage persistency of client payments in favour of both the branch and the client.
    • Gain insight into client risk profiles to proactively identify where support will be required.
      • Consult with clients on alternative payment arrangements and ensure it gets processed through and noted on the right platforms.
    •  Responsible for in-branch servicing in line with client experience standards:
      • Apply product knowledge to accurately guide clients through policy cancellations and provide alternative options.
      • Resolve various types of client queries in the branch as far as possible or escalate queries to the right stakeholders by using the existing escalation framework. Follow up on the status and continuously provide feedback to the client.

    Quality, compliance and continuous development

    • Remain up to date with and continuously adhere to compliance and quality standards.
    • Keep up to date with own registration, product knowledge and maintenance of own CPD points.
    • Identify risks and flag potentially fraudulent activities.
    • Keep and store relevant records of advice.
    • Log all activities as per regulations and standard operating procedures, and provide data to relevant stakeholders to inform reporting and decision making.

    Monthly planning and reporting

    • Responsible for reporting on activities daily, through using relevant technology platforms.
    • Collate data on activities to deliver on weekly and monthly reporting deadlines.
    • Perform any ad-hoc requirements as requested by the Retail Branch Manager.

    Practice Development Consultant: SLS SC SFP (Vineyards) Yards) (JG 8/9) (Rerun)

    What will you do?
    This is a regionally based specialist support role reporting to a Regional Business Manager.  This role undertakes a co-ordination and practice supporting function across Succession to Financial Advisors on both the AFP and SFP sides of the business.  Key responsibilities for this role are:

    • Assist with practice development and business building
    • Undertake monthly discussions and regular site visits to all Financial Advisors in the portfolio.
    • Work closely with the Business Development Consultant to ensure that all Financial Advisors attend and complete the practice management modules/sessions
    • Support projects and focus activities of the Regional Business Manager or National Manager: AFP that seek to drive production.
    • Undertake networking with other stakeholders (head office and support departments) in the sales/support process
    • Ensure that there is the general promotion of EoDB ( Ease of doing business) with respect to processes and procedures relating to sales support and assistance to intermediaries.
    • Utilisation of BI/MIS to create opportunities/Possibilities Dashboards/ campaigns/conversations

    Execute the on regional sales/marketing strategy/plan 

    • Work closely with Vesting and Onboarding Consultant to ensure that new sales staff are properly on-boarded and trained in order to be fully productive as soon as possible.   
    • Drives sales targets and execution including;
    • Execute on marketing activities geared to generate sales 
    • Create and direct opportunities to increase new business streams
    • Launch/drive ad-hoc regional sales competitions and recognition events to stimulate motivate sales, in collaboration with Regional Marketing Consultant  

    Drive marketing within the portfolio including:

    • Work closely with the Regional Marketing Consultant in executing on Leads Management and Campaigns
    • Support the Regional Business Manager to open doors and/or work closely with the Financial Advisors to develop tactical and operational plans for the penetration of new worksites 
    • Continually review progress and adjust/enhance focus, plans and actions during the year so as to achieve the strategy
    • Undertake requisite reporting and feedback to Regional Business Manager or National Manager: AFP as required (i.e.: expenses, sales, challenges, opportunities)

    Support compliance in intermediary’s practices

    • Support and assist in the process of ensuring that Financial Advisors are up to date and have a thorough understanding of the different compliance related processes, procedures and activities required in their practice 
    • Work with the Advice and Risk Consultants as well as Gatekeepers should there be queries, issues or complaints that need to be investigated.  

    Advisor Relationship Management & Coaching 

    • Deliver structured one-on-one and group coaching to improve advisor performance across sales, client engagement, and business growth.
    • Serve as a strategic guide through platform adoption, incentive dashboards, and advisor growth journeys.
    • Conduct performance reviews that interpret MI dashboards, turning data into actionable coaching and advisor-led outcomes.
    • Act as a trusted escalation point for complex client cases and operational challenges.
    • Strengthening advisor loyalty and retention through human connection, clarity, and consistent support.

    Digital Enablement & Training

    • Design and deliver high-impact learning experiences on products, regulations, market insights, and digital platforms.

    Liaison / Marketing Underwriter: SLS: Sanlam Risk & Savings: Bellville

    Purpose of the role

    To market Sanlam Risk & Savings’ Underwriting philosophy to Intermediaries, build relationships with the intermediary channels and liaise with the Intermediaries regarding large and complex cases.

    What will you do?

    • Manage a defined portfolio of financial advisors by building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Primarily, but not limited to, underwriting of large cases with cover amounts of R15m and higher, business insurance, Sickness and Income Protector of R100 000 pm and higher, and complicated medical cases.

    Group Consolidation & Technology Specialist: Group Finance

    What will you do?

    • This is a pivotal finance technology role at the centre of Sanlam’s Group reporting environment. The Group Finance Consolidation & Technology Specialist will own and evolve the Group’s financial consolidation capability, ensuring that reporting platforms, data structures, business rules and close-management processes are stable, controlled, scalable and fit for the future.
    • The role goes beyond supporting HFM. It is about enabling a modern Finance function through stronger data governance, automation, digital enablement and the responsible use of emerging technologies, including AI. Working across Finance, Group Financial Reporting, IT and external partners, the incumbent will improve reporting quality, operational resilience, user experience and the speed and confidence of Group reporting.
    • The incumbent serves as a senior finance leader and technical authority for the Group, working closely with Group Finance, Investor Relations, Tax, Actuarial, Risk, Company Secretariat, external auditors and regulators to protect reporting integrity, support market credibility and build a resilient, well-governed reporting capability.
    • As the ultimate reporting role within Group Office, the incumbent provides Group-wide reporting steer, standards and guidance across the Group's geographic footprint, including South Africa, Pan-Africa, India and Malaysia. The role must ensure that local reporting environments are appropriately aligned to Group reporting principles, while recognising jurisdiction-specific regulatory, statutory and market requirements.

    • Drive digital finance improvement – Identify and implement automation, workflow redesign, data quality improvements and AI-enabled opportunities that reduce manual work and improve reporting efficiency.
    • Support a future-ready technology roadmap – Contribute to system enhancements, integration opportunities and digital capabilities aligned to Group Finance strategy.
    • Embed strong change and control governance – Manage change impact, testing, deployment readiness, documentation, access controls and audit evidence across the reporting environment.
    • Enable adoption across Finance – Partner with Finance, Group Financial Reporting, IT, vendors and business users to solve problems, improve ways of working and deliver user-focused solutions.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Relevant Finance, Accounting, Information Systems or Business Analysis qualification. CTA, CA training contract, BCom Accounting or equivalent Finance qualification would be advantageous.
    • Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in financial reporting, consolidation, financial systems or finance transformation.
    • Practical experience with enterprise consolidation platforms, preferably HFM, including metadata, consolidation structures, validations, reporting outputs and period-close support.
    • Strong understanding of Group consolidation, IFRS reporting principles, ownership structures, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation and financial data quality.
    • Experience working across Finance, IT and data teams to deliver technology-enabled reporting improvements.
    • Demonstrated exposure to process improvement, automation, data integration, analytics, cloud finance technologies or modern finance architecture.
    • Experience in insurance or broader financial services, and exposure to AI, advanced analytics or intelligent automation in Finance, would be advantageous.

    Governance Manager - Cape Town, Western Cape

    What will you do?

    Job Purpose

    • The Governance Manager is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and oversight of the governance framework within Glacier. Operating within the first line of defense, the role will report to the Senior Governance Manager and assist in supporting the Glacier Board and Exco in fulfilling their first line governance and compliance obligations by ensuring regulatory and governance requirements are optimally understood, implemented, embedded and monitored across the business.
    • The role provides governance advisory services to business stakeholders, facilitates regulatory reporting, monitors adherence to governance requirements and supports the implementation of regulatory changes. The Governance Manager plays an integral role in promoting a culture of good governance, ethical conduct and regulatory compliance across the organization, with particular emphasis on product governance and a deep understanding of the long-term insurance and the investment product landscape.

    Key Outcomes

    • Governance Framework - Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the governance framework, including policies, procedures, controls and standards. Support periodic reviews to ensure the framework remains current and fit for purpose considering regulatory developments.
    • Product Governance - Support the oversight of product governance processes across Glacier's product range, including endowments, sinking funds, retirement annuity funds, discretionary investment products and other long-term insurance and investment products. Ensure that products are designed, distributed and reviewed in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and sound governance principles, and that product-related compliance obligations are identified, monitored and reported.
    • Regulatory Monitoring and Change Management - Monitor the regulatory landscape for applicable changes across all relevant legislation and assist in managing the implementation of new or amended regulatory requirements across the business. Ensure business stakeholders are timeously informed of regulatory changes and their implications for products, processes and governance structures.
    • Advisory Services - Provide governance advisory support to business stakeholders, senior management and the Exco team, offering practical guidance on regulatory requirements, governance obligations and compliance expectations across the full spectrum of applicable legislation.
    • Monitoring and Reporting - Monitor governance and compliance practices across the business and prepare accurate, timely governance reports which can be presented to Exco or relevant Governance or Risk Forums. Facilitate the compilation of regulatory and statutory reports from a first-line perspective.
    • Regulatory Liaison - Support the Senior Governance Manager in engaging with regulatory bodies, auditors and external stakeholders on governance and compliance matters. Assist in preparing the organization for regulatory engagements and ensuring leadership is appropriately briefed.
    • AML, FICA, FATCA and CRS Oversight - Support the oversight of Anti-Money Laundering, FICA, FATCA and Common Reporting Standard compliance, including monitoring the implementation of related policies, procedures and controls. A thorough understanding of FATCA and CRS obligations and their operational application is essential to this role given the cross-border nature of Glacier's product offering.
    • Conduct Risk and TCF - Assist in the development and monitoring of conduct risk management programmes, including Treating Customers Fairly initiatives, ensuring that customer outcomes remain central to business practices and product governance decisions.
    • Strategic Project Management - Support strategic projects within the business from a governance perspective, including regulatory change implementation projects, governance framework enhancement initiatives and cross-functional compliance programmes. Ensure projects are managed effectively, stakeholders are appropriately engaged and deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
    • Training and Awareness - Design and facilitate training sessions to promote awareness and understanding of governance requirements, regulatory obligations and compliance expectations across the organization.
    • Collaboration with Assurance and First Line Functions - Work closely with second line assurance functions, including Risk and Compliance, to ensure alignment between governance practices and the broader risk and compliance framework. Collaborate with other first line functions, including the Legal team, to ensure governance obligations are appropriately embedded in business processes, legal documentation and product structures.
    • Stakeholder Engagement - Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, legal counsel and business units, to support sound governance and compliance outcomes.
    • Board and CEO Support - Assist in preparing governance reports and briefing materials for the Board and CEO, ensuring that governance issues, regulatory developments and compliance matters are clearly and accurately communicated.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • B. Juris / BA Law / B. Proc / LLB / BCom or other relevant commercial degree
    • Certificate or Diploma in Compliance Management or Financial Planning
    • FAIS Fit and Proper requirements to be a FSCA registered Compliance Officer (Cat I, II or III) will be advantageous
    • CPRAC, CRM Prac or equivalent qualification will be advantageous
    • Minimum five years of experience in Compliance, Legal and Risk Management within the Financial Services industry, with a minimum of three years in a team leadership capacity
    • Experience in the LISP industry preferred
    • Thorough working knowledge of the Pension Funds Act, CISCA, Insurance Act, Long-term Insurance Act, FAIS, FICA, Financial Markets Act, Exchange Control Regulations, FATCA and CRS
    • Sound understanding of long-term insurance and investment products, including endowments, sinking funds, retirement annuity funds, provident and pension fund products and discretionary investment products
    • Exposure to international regulatory frameworks, including Bermuda insurance legislation, will be advantageous
