    What will you do?

    • Collection of premiums from Intermediaries and clients
    • Financial transaction processing including bordereaux preparation, inspection, investigation of variances, importing, receipting and allocation of brokers bordereaux and review for accuracy
    • Reconciliation of cashbooks and premiums
    • Resolving queries on outstanding premiums and commissions with business partners
    • Send unpaid notifications for debit order policies to brokers and monthly brokers statements for due/outstanding premiums
    • Follow up on outstanding premiums and cancellation of policies
    • Monitoring the detailed age analysis to ensure that payments are up to date
    • Processing of refunds and broker transfers
    • Assist with claims reconciliations, uploading claims suppliers, checking of banking details and premium confirmations

    IT Project Manager (Security)

    PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

    Project Planning and Execution:

    • Develop project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budget.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • IT Degree or Diploma

    • Demonstrate experience and sound knowledge of the system development lifecycle processes and methods from business concept to deployment stages.
    • Experience working in the Financial Services or Insurance industry is a significant advantage.
    • Experience working with industry-standard security frameworks and controls (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls) is a significant advantage.
    • Sound experience working with stakeholders at different levels across organisations/divisions; both on-shore and off-shore, face-to-face and remote.
    • Demonstrate experience in applying industry-standard project management methodologies and processes. Working in an Agile environment, with knowledge of the Scrum method strongly preferred.
    • Experience in using JIRA,  and Confluence.

    Job Description

    • The purpose of this position is to determine the quantum and merit of segmented motor claims by performing investigations, verifying the description of the event with the loss, negotiating with (client, intermediary, and service providers) and settlement of claims within a delegated threshold and according to contract conditions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Quote and assess damage against a provided or requested quotation.
    • Decide whether to replace/ repair part/ use aftermarket spares when warranty has expired.
    • Refer to expert if required.
    • Generate claims report and communicate the outcome with client and intermediary.
    • Determine market value of vehicle for settlement (valuation).
    • Determine outstanding finance details, release settlements and documents to salvage inventory.
    • Authorise for repair, cash, replace or write-off.

    Business Change Manager - BI

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This person will:

    • Participate in data strategy formulation in order to conceptualise change programmes, projects and initiatives
    • Engage with stakeholders in partnership with the IT Business Delivery Team to obtain an understanding of their data and business intelligence demand
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with stakeholders to facilitate accomplishments of data demand and objectives 
    • Become a trusted advisor to, and influence decision making of stakeholders by providing an advisory service, guidance and support on data quality practices

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Facilitate development of future initiative roadmap in support of the business strategy/objectives
    • Facilitate concept designs across individual business units and the Group through IT Business Delivery Team.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • DAMA certified data management professional (CDMP) or similar data management certification 
    • Minimum 10 years experience at a Management 
    • 5 years’ experience managing the BU portfolio and delivering solutions to the respective BU’s
    • 5 years strong Data Management experience will be advantageous 
    • Experienced in dealing with external suppliers and offshore business partners will be advantageous

    Territorial Lead

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • This role is responsible for the reinsurance underwriting in the chosen territory of Santam Re to drive the strategic agenda of profitable growth of Santam Re. This will include both treaty and facultative reinsurance within defined underwriting mandates, whereby the incumbent will be required to develop a book of business internationally. 
    • Applicants must be based in Cape Town, South Africa, or be prepared to relocate. The role also requires some travel.
    • This dynamic role requires a passionate, energetic individual to handle reinsurance pricing activities, tools management and portfolio steering to manage exposure, profitability and growth.

    WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?

    • Develop, lead, and maintain a profitable reinsurance treaty book in the chosen territory - this is both a client facing role.
    • Profitability & Growth – drive profitability and growth in territory according to annual targets set and according to annual premium volume, profitability and volatility benchmarks.
    • Driving profitability of the book (ensuring a 5% margin)
    • Analysing of BI Statistics and propose actions to correct profitability where required
    • Marketing and business development (ensuring growth)
    • Building and maintaining reinsurance broker and cedant relationships for both existing business and potential business, both locally and globally. 
    • Managing the portfolio which includes running the underwriting process (pricing and underwriting the treaties using a range of actuarial and softer methods as well as checking, writing and analysing the wording of contracts wording), checking and monitoring the accounts, payments and profitability of the treaty.
    • Effective management of portfolio queries and referrals
    • Managing a team – providing leadership and direction whilst supporting the team with training and development activities.
    • May travel independently or with colleagues and will need to negotiate with clients and brokers which requires adherence to internal guidelines.
    • Performing analyst/ underwriter tasks as and when required. 

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
    Minimum requirements:

    • Minimum qualification – Undergraduate Degree (preferably in a scientific, engineering or numerate discipline)
    • 5- 6 years’ experience in the Short-Term Insurance industry (preferably in reinsurance, finance risk management or engineering sectors)
    • 2-3 years’ experience leading/managing a team.

    Advantageous qualifications, knowledge and experience:
