    Ops Specialist: TLM Outside Plant

    Core Description

    Responsible for the introduction and commissioning of new telecommunications technologies and systems. This includes arranging Proof of Concept (POC)/ Proof of Value (POV) installations and advising implementation plans to execute approved technology strategies. Assist with all operations and maintenance aspects of the relevant TLM Access (passive) discipline. Compile and update Work Instructions, and Methods and Procedures related to technology evolution and adaptation. Responsible for the specification, testing and evaluation of new passive equipment.

    Specialist: IT Sourcing

    Core Description

    Responsible and accountable for sourcing the right IT products and/or service of the right quality at the right price at the right time from the most suitable source of supply in accordance with Telkom's Procurement policies and procedures and Black Economic Empowerment to create shareholders value and customer satisfaction. To ensure Procurement synergies are identified and achieved.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Engage with the business stakeholders to understand business requirements
    • Conduct spend and market analysis and research to understand commodity trends within the organization compared to local and global trends
    • Development of IT related Category Strategies taking into account Openserve’s Strategy, Product strategy and Technical strategy
    • Draft and manage own RFX's
    • Manage the governance processes during each RFX
    • Negotiate best value contracts for the company using TCO models
    • Manage medium to complex supplier relationships and contracts
    • Create and maintain an up to date, visible and accessible repository of IT procurement contract information indicating vendor, contract value, goods or services for which the contract exists; as well as flags indicating upcoming contract renewal or termination
    • Prepare and administer correspondence and contract documentation throughout the life cycle of a contract, including termination and contract closeout activities
    • Deliver efficient and effective contract management services to the stakeholders through determining the urgency, importance, impact and resource implications
    • Responsible for implementation and management of IT products/services
    • Analyze the spend baseline to manage the category profile, including risk assessment and supplier relationship
    • Manage the supplier selection, identification of potential strategic partners and fact-based negotiations for the category
    • Manage the strategy implementation and sourcing execution against the established measures and controls in alignment with the overall KPI framework, manage the cross functional sourcing team and measures category practices against best-in-class benchmarks to identify value delivery initiatives
