    Buyer Fixed Term Contract - Germiston

    Position outputs:

    PURCHASE REQUISITIONS

    • Accurate and timely processing of purchase requisitions in line with user specifications/requirements internal SLAs
    • On-time communication of queries on purchase requisitions to end-users – this includes confirmation of budget, inaccurate specifications, drawings etc
    • Review of completeness of information on the Purchase requisition and communicate discrepancies to user department.

    REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS

    • Issuing of request for quotations for goods and services according to the goods and services manual
    • Evaluation of bid responses in line with set criteria
    • Source new products and suppliers including BBBEE suppliers/Service providers;

    PURCHASE ORDERS

    • Create purchase orders on SAP; meet planned delivery dates;
    • Ensure that Issued purchase orders have general conditions of purchase
    • Obtain confirmation of receipt of issued orders from contracted suppliers/service providers.
    • Monitor the purchasing patterns (low value order purchasing);
    • Monitor the Variation Orders (Invoice Vs Purchase order) and recommend for approval;
    • Negotiate with suppliers within mandate prices, terms, product specifications, delivery times, quality or specification and quantity to ensure the most efficient and effective delivery of the materials, services and equipment for various TE projects/contracts
    • Serve as the central contact point for supplier and end user queries and ensure that queries are addressed in a satisfactory and timeous manner;
    • To ensure that the required key Financial Controls of the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process are enforced within the Division.
    • Update purchase order information as and when required

    EXPEDITING

    • Ensure that contracted suppliers/service providers adhere to delivery dates stated on purchase order
    • Follow up on late orders and update delivery dates on SAP ERP
    • Evaluate supplier’s performance; self-management via exception reporting and recommend appropriate action to rectify;

    COMPLIANCE

    • To align with auditors and resolve audit findings with regards to the process and to ensure that there are no repeat findings.
    • To escalate non-compliance issues to the appropriate bodies;

    SYSTEM USAGE

    • To provide 1st Line SAP MM Super User support, which includes but not limited to, training of users on SAP, 1st line fault resolution and serving as the interface between the SAP Competency Centre and end users. Ensure that system improvements are logged, tested and followed through;
    • Ensure administrative functions to procure goods and services are correctly executed in accordance with approved Business Critical Activities/Control Framework, approved Commercial Framework and Procure-to Pay (P2P) processes;

    VENDOR MASTER MANAGEMENT

    • Ensure maximum utilisation of material master (report and correct unacceptable descriptions on the requisitions);

    OTHER SUPPORT AND ADMIN DUTIES

    Manager: ICT Reporting (OCIO) - Johannesburg

    Position Purpose:

    • To plan and direct the administration of the Office of the Chief Information Officer, monitor the workflow, and take corrective action where necessary. To provide support to the Executive Manager: IT Enterprise Management to ensure properly coordinated management of the Office, monitor and track effectiveness of the processes of running the Office with high level of confidentiality, respect and professionalism and identify improvements required to be made to the management of the Office based on observations for the good reputation of the organisation. To provide of support in maintenance of good relations with stakeholders for the Office of the Chief Information Officer.

    Position outputs:

    • Manage the administrative aspects of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) independently, under the guidance of the Executive Manager (EM) and monitor execution of the functions in the Office through the provision of strategic coordination and reporting.
    • Coordinate Stakeholder Engagements activities for the Office, including engagement with stakeholders other than ICT vendors.
    • Coordinate activities related to implementation and monitoring of strategic ICT initiatives and helping resolve issues.
    • Compilation and finalisation of regular governance reports (such as those for the Board Risk Committee, Board Corporate Governance Committee, Audit Committee, Group Executive Committee, ICT Executive Committee meetings) on behalf of the ICT function for the whole of Transnet.
    • Coordinate and compile responses to queries for recommendation to the EM and approval by the CIO.

    Position Purpose:

    Manager - Investigations

    Position Purpose:

    • This National position participates in the total Management of Security function
    • Develop, implement, and execute the enforcement of Security Investigation and Information Management strategy and processes throughout TNPA
    • Manage, lead, coordinate, plan and organize Investigation Information function within TNPA.
    • Reporting - Monthly, Quarterly and Annually.
    • Advise for proactive / reactive measures in compliance with Criminal Procedure and PSIRA Acts, the International Ship and

    Position outputs:

    • To liaise with role-players within the port as well as those external law enforcement agencies/organisations in order to maximise effective investigations and the signing of Memorandum of Understanding to ensure mutual co-operation.
    • To manage control and co-ordinate the recruitment and handling of the human sources of information network to ensure that witnesses are available to lead evidence in disciplinary/arbitration and procedures and any other matter as required.
    • Manage, control, monitor and safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of informational evidence and human sources of information, to ensure the preservation of evidence for both criminal and internal disciplinary proceedings.
    • Conduct regular security investigations audits to ensure compliance to National Prosecutions Authority Security
    • Investigations Management strategies, Security standards, procedures, and code of conduct and legislative requirements impacting on investigations.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    A Bachelor’s Degree in Information / Security Management or related field with at least 5-8 years’ experience in

    • Projects, Program Management, Strategic Planning and Service Management.
    • Experience of collation, analysis, and evaluation of information

    Chief Mate - Dredging Services X2

    Position Purpose:

    • Represent the Master in overall charge of the ship, responsible for the safe handling, maneuvering and navigation thereof as governed by the International Maritime Organisation statutes and to maintain an effective, efficient dredge operation allowing for optimum utilisation of resources, thereby ensuring maximum dredging output whilst ensuring the safety of ship and crew.
    • Take on Masters responsibilities and accountabilities in his absence.

    Position outputs:

    • Directing, monitoring and controlling the daily dredge operation, methods of dredging and safe navigation of the vessel thereby ensuring a safe, efficient and effective dredge operation thus achieving predetermined targets.
    • Monitor allocated deck maintenance, load line and LSA equipment schedules ensuring that the vessel remains in a seaworthy condition and compliance with International Statutory Laws and Regulations.
    • Effect repairs in conjunction with the chief Engineer.
    • Takes charge of in conjuction with the Chief Engineer, for the quality control and safety aspects of specific repairs and maintenance as allocated by overseeing, liasing and monitoring the progress thereof including feedback and rectification of repair defects.
    • Responsible for the training of allocated deck personnel.
    • Prepare report and record timeously and accurately all documents required by the company with regards to production, timecards, maintenance and breakdowns.
    • Take on Master's legal responsibilities and accountabilities in his absence, as applicable.

    ISM / ISPS Implementation and maintain

    • Dredging operations and any job delegated by master.
    • Expected to train deck personnel to dredge
    • Expected to have the ability to dredge on all dredgers as expected by the company

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Chief Mate Certificate of Competency as issued by the South African Maritime Safety Authority (STCW95)
    • 2-4yrs experience working as a Chief Mate would be advantegeous
