Responsibilities

• Performing, approve Mechanical Design Verification of Rotating Equipment using software and develop excel calculations for part code calculations.
• Understanding and preparation of pump hydraulic calculations, good exposure to compressible flow.
• Prepare, Review and Approve Rotating Equipment Datasheets and Specifications.
• Prepare, Review and Approve sizing/development of rotating equipment and specifications.
• Prepare, Review and Approve Technical equipment requisitions required for procurement purposes.
• Prepare, review and approve Client/project standard specifications and design criteria.
• Manage and maintain the Equipment List.
• Manage, Oversee and Approve Databook’s and End of Job Documentation (E.O.J).
• Perform Package Management of single Mechanical Equipment's and Multidisciplinary Packages i.e. Rotating Equipment.
• Completing tasks in accordance to the specific stages of the engineering design process
• Conduct Site visitations to approve work carried out
• Produce, Review and Approve Rotating Equipment scope of work, documents for procurement purposes
• Collaborate with the drafting/design team to ensure all drawings and designs are in-line with project specifications.
• Liaising with various departments to successfully complete the Mechanical
• Scope of Work i.e. Rotating Equipment
• Perform, Review and Approve technical bid analysis & tabulation which will be used to select appropriate vendors
• Review, approve vendor information for technical detail and information
• Provide solutions based on client requirements that are in line with the company’s business model
• Conduct and Review technical investigations.
• Lead Project progress, Interactive Planning Sessions and Kick-off meetings
• Prepare Man-hour estimates for Proposal
• Develop strong working relationships with client and contractors
• Maintain workshare relationships with other Worley Offices and Global
• Delivery Centers (GDC) i.e. with assigned Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer(s) for the project(s).
• Management of change orders and scope of works
• Assist in Resolving interdepartmental and client issues timeously, this includes seeking higher level authority, if required i.e. Lead Mechanical Engineer
• Provide Commissioning assistance when required.
   

B.Sc. (Eng) ; B.Eng. & B.Tech. , Pr. Eng. or Pr Tech Eng with (ECSA)

Experience

• 15+ years
• EPC / EPCM Environment
• Petro Chemical, Oil & Gas or Similar Environment
• Extensive Experience in rotating equipment
• Extensive Experience in mechanical seals & seal plans
• Extensive Experience with Cat M & Low Temperature Service
• Multi-Office Project Experience
• Multi-Project Phase Experience
• Management of Capital Projects
• Experience in site progress measures
• Experience in Managing Projects and Project Teams
• Experience in Contract Management i.e. NEC or FIDIC
• Experience in managing Cultural Diversity
   

Knowledge

• Knowledge & experience with MS Office packages (create spreadsheets, registers, reports, presentations, workflows, etc.)
• Knowledge of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.
• Specialist Knowledge of International Codes i.e. ASME, API, ASTM, HI etc. of practice relevant to industry
• Extensive Knowledge of National and International Standards.
• Extensive Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Design & Principles.
• Proficient with Engineering tools and Software.
• Knowledge and ability to perform Technical Evaluations for standard and non- standard (requisitioned) materials and construction contracts and to be part of construction bid evaluation meetings.
• Knowledge of Project Planning, Cost control, procurement & contracts, Processes including document control.
• Extensive Knowledge of Bill of Quantities.

Responsibilities:

• To prepare, carry out, complete and detailed drafting work including translating conceptual designs into detailed 2D – 3D working engineering drawings, flow diagrams and schematics, with sufficient detail to convey the requirements of the Project scope.
• To make field visits as requested to take measurements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform draughting / detailed design drawing for customer projects.
• Ensure and control quality of work produced and that final drawings meet design specifications.
• Adhere to project requirements: systems; procedures; the discipline task and deliverables plan.
• Provide Customer Support and maintain good stakeholder relations.
• Effect continuous improvement in Drawing Office.
• TVET NQF 5 qualification / National Diploma issued by the Council for Higher Education / equivalent City and Guilds of London certification.
• Additional Auto Cad Certification an advantage.
• Membership of the SA Institute of Draughting a further advantage.
   

Essential Skills/Experience

• 5 to 10 years Instrumentation Draughting experience within a project’s environment.
• Development of all control & instrumentation design deliverables in accordance with prescribed project standards.
• CAD Instrument drawings.
• CAD System network Diagrams (logical and physical)
• CAD P&ID’s
• CAD Cable block diagrams.
• CAD/SPI Instrumentation hook up diagrams.
• SPI design experience of 3-5 years.
• Must have - Sasol projects experience.
