JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The Engineer – Principal Billing will form a part of a highly-skilled group of IT and management experts responsible for the architectural, operational and delivery of the Bayobab’s global IT infrastructure and support other business units with the deployment and utilization of the assets. The position will furthermore support the Bayobab billing and associated services.

Key Performance Areas:

The Engineer - Billing will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

• Responsible for the implementation/upgrades, maintenance and support of the billing platforms and its related processes to achieve billing operations continuity.
• Ensure accurate billing and timely delivery of bills to Customers including timely Resolution of Customer billing disputes, queries and inquires.
• Support the update and management of Customer billing profiles on the billing system.
• Developing and implementing scripts and tools that will support and expand billing functionality.
• Application security, incident/problem management and correction, monitoring and investigation of call data records, generating ad-hoc and regular reports based on billing data and structure.
• Providing technical leadership for application upgrades, maintenance, Products, tariff configuration and Resource lifecycle management.
• Technical user requirement gathering including billing, service provisioning, route and mediation requirements.
• Integration tests for new services and upgrades on test platform.
• Observation and change management after implementation of services on production.
• Provide support for the Mediation flows configuration and definition of major data processing steps.
• Development of technical documents including Standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides
• Derivation of trends in performance from statistics as well as from customer complaints to provide long term solutions to problems identified.
• Actively collaborate with other Business functions to understand their pain areas and come up with improvement plan.
• Interface with the wholesale solutioning team in support of large or strategic opportunities, especially in the definition of SLAs to be provided.  
• Define SLAs and customer-specific reporting of this service, both internal (OpCos) and external end customers
   

Role Deliverables:

• Review and support the implementation of the design and operations business unit
• Ensure optimization of the assigned billing applications to meet IT KPIs and customer expectations.
• Attain success rate and billing service availability KPIs 
• Support the delivery of invoicing as per agreed SLA.
• Closure of audit items and attainment security and compliance KPIs
• Tracking and monitoring of end-to-end service delivery and assurance across wholesale billing platforms.

Education:

• BA or BSc degree (preferably in Engineering or Computer Science)
• ITIL Certification

Experience:

• 3+ years in relevant experience in Billing and associated processes

Competencies:

• Detailed knowledge on the international telecommunication infrastructure industry with regard Wholesale and exposure to latest industry trends and competitive landscape within the Bayobab footprint 
• Extensive experience working on Interconnect billing of platforms like TOMIA, CSG, iConX and in international wholesale billing operations.
• Effectively manage billing processes to work efficiently within the business unit.
• Desire to provide inputs for new product development and management.
• High communication and presentation skills to efficiently manage partners, customers and colleagues within Bayobab business units. 
• Strong analytical skills to be able to execute market analysis, competitor landscape reports and customer monitoring.
• Understanding of IT Service Management, a Certification in Technology Service Management (e.g. ITIL, CoBIT etc) is an advantage.
• Possess problem solving skills and Work proactively across multiple cultures and languages within the Bayobab footprint countries.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Design of fibre and microwave solutions with specific attention to the access portion of the solution.
• Providing technical support for the transport networks across network group to enable the design, provisioning, performance and support of DBU / EBU services. Provide technical guidance on the evolution of the MTN ICT initiatives. Manage implementation and support requirements between network group and DBU / EBU. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Performance Areas​​​​​​​

Forecast and Demand:

• Contribute to the definition of the network strategy with specific focus on DBU / EBU networks.
• Ensure the transport strategy and architecture aligns with business objectives and the strategic plans of other departments
• Participate in the translation of the transmission and transport strategy and architecture into long term plans
• Understand the capabilities and limitations of new technologies, applying best practices when designing the transport network

Solution Delivery: 

• Support the design, Planning and Optimisation of transport networks access and backbone (WDM, GPON, IP/MPLS)
• Provide guidance on the deployment strategy for broadband – Services provided, Target areas
• Vendor evaluation and selection for transport Networks focusing on Total Cost of Ownership, Technology assessment and vendor performance
• Identify key evolution/trends in transport technologies and provide  roadmap input
• Provide Technical support to all management layers on all wholesale network related issues.
• Manage the performance of vendors and suppliers internal and external and assist in the resolution of major operational problems on the wholesale network
• Negotiate with Network vendors
• Assist in developing and supporting processes to enable wholesale network

Transmission Commercialisation  

• Support management in determining the investment strategy for wholesale i.e. investment areas and customers.
• Support management in determining the technology strategy for wholesale e.g. GPON, DWDM, CTN, lease lines
• Negotiate with suppliers for the most cost-effective products
• Contract management i.e. SLA management for delivery and performance
• Provide inputs to various customer RFP’s

Communication and co-ordination

• Ensure communication of plans and integration of feedback
• Prepare detailed design, implementation and integration documentation for build and operations
• Co-operate with and support of other network group departments at all levels
• Manage interfaces with other areas of the MTN business outside of the technology enterprise department as required for successful development, design and   implementation
• Provide high level planning support function and representation (technical) for design components in MTN Group Operations

Financial Management

• Assist management with Capex and Opex budget relating to solution architectural activities
• Assist in the forecasting, planning and development of the architectural budget and business plans

Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in solution architecture and Transmission Planning and Optimisation

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Determine, assess, report and ensure the delivery of committed solutions of all Network Quality and Coverage problems reported by customer care, service providers and senior management for MTN SA

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Key Performance Areas

Strategy Development:

• Provide input into network quality and coverage strategies

Network Quality & Coverage 

• Responsible for regional co-ordination of customer satisfaction and Quality Assurance in the Network Quality & Coverage 
• Provide input on network quality and coverage improvement priorities across the network
• Monitor and implement corrective and preventative measures as required
• Investigate customer complaints for possible enhancements in network quality and coverage
• Ensure all network quality and coverage queries are addressed and responded to within agreed timeframes
• Assist in analysing the correlation of technology, sales and customer operations data to optimise network quality
• Assist in developing a framework for the installation, management and support of customer premises quality and coverage enhancing    equipment
• Identify key improvement areas based on customer feedback
• Assist in designing processes to ensure quick customer complaint handling
• Take responsibility for regional network quality & coverage issues, including:
• Respond to all incoming coverage and network quality queries within set KPI period
• Investigate and resolve coverage and network quality (Voice and Data) problems through needs analysis and feasibility study    ensuring viability for Installation of appropriate equipment/solution to be installed/offered to customer to improve Network    quality or coverage (voice or Data)
•  Work with the P&O Division towards the resolution of coverage and network quality (Voice and Data) faults
•  Inform Network Coverage CS team/Customer via FLS - Remedy on the outcome of faults logged once type of resolution is established    within set KPI period of the      problem being reported
• Ensure continuous feedback is provided to the client during the period of investigation to ensure transparency and avoidance of    churn
• Oversee regional CE installation process from when WA is issued
• Sign of Cell Extender installations once installation is completed
• Ensure a communication platform with Regional SP’s to sustain customer satisfaction & support with regards to Network Quality &    Coverage.
• Perform follow up test drives to ensure faults have been resolved as expected
• Ensure regional complaint tracking and management on remedy system is updated and maintained (system administration) 
• Ensure regional network quality & performance related documentation is comprehensive, sufficiently detailed, up to date, accurate    and maintained effectively to    ensure business continuity

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

• Minimum of 3 year degree/diploma  in I.S.Communications or Electronics.
• Fluent in English

   Experience:   

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Telecommunications environment; with experience in supervising others.
• 3 years experience in GSM Data technology is advantageous.
• Experience working in a medium  organization
