    Personal Lines Services Consultant-1

    Job Description

    • To provide quality sales service that results in the production of business from new and existing sources which contributes to the profitability and growth of the company.
    • Handle incoming and outgoing sales calls in accordance with predetermined schedules, campaigns and targets.
    • Telephonically guide customers through the product offering, pricing, terms and conditions.
    • Provide accurate and efficient quotation/s to customers.
    • Maintain an agreed lead to sale ratio.
    • Maintain an agreed lead to quote ratio.
    • Maintain an agreed quote to sale ratio.
    • Required to work shifts as scheduled.
    • Manage all allocated leads.
    • Sell according to agreed targets for the day.

    Actuarial Manager

    Job Description

    Role Overview

    • Personal Finance is looking for a suitably qualified individual for an Actuarial Manager role within the Finance Business Partner area. The Personal Finance business provides a wide range of Risk, Savings, and Income products, and also has a large and valuable Legacy book.
    • This role will provide exposure to senior management and will require you to partner closely with a range of teams across the Personal Finance business, including Actuarial, Finance, Product Solutions, Risk Management, Retention and Channel Finance teams. This role enables an actuary to develop a solid understanding of the key components of a complex retail financial services business and how various entities and enabling functions combine to generate the annual operating result. The role is responsible for driving key Segment financial reporting, analyzing business trends and modelling future economic value. Responsibilities also include participating in a Closed Book core team that develops and implements strategies to enhance value of the most profitable book of business in Personal Finance, monitoring key actuarial risks affecting Personal Finance and proactively managing the relationship with Product Solutions to align product delivery with business needs. 

    Key Result Areas

    • Reviewing the risk (protection), income, savings and legacy components of the RAF business plans, quarterly forecasts and monthly management information. Translating the information into meaningful insights that enable appropriate focus from Exco and assist strategic decision making. 
    • Analysing and driving an improved understanding of profitability and market competitiveness of the business through various value-add actuarial business partner analysis. 
    • Developing improved levels of financial reporting that highlight customer trends, and support the PF business in its customer objectives.
    • Partnering with the Closed Book Product area to implement strategies that will protect and enhance profits from the Closed Book across the full value chain. 
    • Monitoring actuarial and asset-liability management risk impacts on business profitability and interrogating strategies in place to mitigate the risks. Partnering with Balance Sheet Management to develop solutions to manage ALM risks and optimise investment return. 
    • Partnering with the Personal Finance Risk Executive to drive a better understanding of the potential financial impact of the actuarial risks that we are exposed to. 
    • Providing business input into new product developments, experience investigations and repricing exercises carried out by Product Solutions. 
    • Providing business input in response to any changes required to the valuation basis, models and methodologies as recommended by the finance.hub actuarial team.

    Qualifications and experience

    • Qualified Actuary with 8+ years actuarial experience 
    • A good understanding of the Personal Finance business unit (through either Retail Product or Finance experience) would be an advantage.

    Audit Manager

    Job Description

    • The role has overall responsibility for the delivery of audits within the Old Mutual Insure Group portfolio. The role is responsible for the management of the audit teams (including people/service provider management) and delivery of the audit plan, including annual audit planning, updating the audit universe, execution of audits and preparation of audit reports. This role will support the Audit Lead/s in executing on audits and managing stakeholder relationships.

    Key Result Areas / Outputs

    • Responsible for the update and maintenance of the audit universe and identification of emerging risks;
    • Understand the risk profile of the business in a broader context of the Group and industry;
    • Understand the regulatory environment and key legislation impacting the business
    • Execute and deliver the audit plan and management requests timeously;
    • Contribute towards and provide updates on the Combined Assurance Plans for the relevant portfolios;
    • Ensure audits are conducted as per the GIA Methodology and that the quality and performance standards are maintained at all times;
    • Timely delivery of impactful audit reports with well thought out management actions and due dates
    • The ability to work on multiple audit engagements
    • Facilitate the agreement of audit findings and ratings with the relevant stakeholders;
    • Analyse root causes of issues identified and make recommendations to management to improve the control environment accordingly as necessary;
    • Facilitate the integrated audit approach where necessary, such as use of IT and DAS; and
    • Timely execution of the issues assurance plan per portfolio and within quality standards.
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with auditees;
    • Ensure open communication with other audit teams, especially for integrated audits; and
    • Support the Audit Lead/s in managing stakeholder engagement and relationships across the relevant portfolio/s.
    • Support the Audit Lead/s in managing functional resource planning and integration, including the use of specialist consultants;
    • Support the Audit Lead/s to manage the portfolio/s GIA stats process and monthly reporting process by engaging line 1 and line 2; and
    • Comply with IIA Code of Ethics and GIA Policies and Procedures.
    • Support the Audit Lead to manage the audit team.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    Qualifications & Professional Affiliations

    • Relevant University Degree & Professional Qualification.
    • CA (SA), CIA, CFA would be advantageous.

    Experience

    • Audit experience preferred, not required
    • Strong background in the financial services / insurance industry
    • Knowledge of the regulatory environment for the insurance industry
    • Knowledge of the cell captive business in the insurance industry would be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of trade credit insurance would be advantageous.
    • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in managing multiple teams and assignments
    • Experience of client relationship management at senior levels
    • Data Analytics experience would be advantageous
