    Component Head: Governance and Corporate Services (Major General)

    Generic Requirements: 

    • Applicants must be fluent in at least 2 official languages, of which one must be English; 
    • Must be a South African citizen; 
    • Applicants must have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ licence; 
    • Excellent communication (verbal and written), monitoring and conflict resolution skills; 
    • Applicants must have specific working knowledge of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) mandate and functions (SAPS Act, Act No. 68 of 1995 as amended); 
    • An applicable higher qualification/post graduate qualification related to the post. Relevant training and development in an Executive Development Programme, Leadership and Management Training, and/or Programme and Project Management may be an added advantage; 
    • The successful candidate will be required to obtain a security clearance to the level of Top Secret before approval of appointment (if not already in possession of such a valid security clearance).  

    Additional Requirements: 

    Applicant must: 

    • Have a three (3) year Diploma or Degree (accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher). Preference may be given to applicants who are in possession of a qualification in Policing/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Strategic Management/ Public Administration or other related fields of study. 
    • Have a minimum of three (3) years’ appropriate managerial experience in the field of the post; 
    • Applicants who would meet the above requirements on or before1 February 2025, when the post become vacant, are encouraged to apply; 
    • Training and Development in the field of the post will be an added advantage (Attach certificates). 

    Core Functions: 

    • The Component Head: Governance and Corporate Services is directly accountable to the Deputy National Head: Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI); 
    • Ensure rendering of Human Resource Management and Development within the DPCI; 
    • Ensure rendering of Financial Management within the DPCI; 
    • Ensure rendering of Physical Resource Management within the DPCI; 
    • Ensure rendering of Strategic planning, monitoring and provision of strategic support within the DPCI; 
    • Ensure rendering of Inspections, Interventions and Evaluations within the DPCI;
    • Ensure rendering of policy development and implementation of Policy and Standards within the DPCI; 
    • Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external role players; 
    • Comply with DPCI policies and standards relating to the environment (including international agreements); 
    • Represent the Deputy National Head: DPCI at various forums as directed; 
    • Ensure compliance with information security standards as prescribed by Minimum Information Security Standards and relevant legislation; 
    • Manage and utilise all resources (human, physical and financial) allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.

    Section Head: National Priority Violent Crimes (NPVC) – Serious Organised Crime Investigation (Brigadier) Re-Advertisement

    Generic Requirements:

    Core Functions: 

    • The Section Head: NPVC is directly accountable to the Component Head: Serious Organised Crime Investigation; 
    • Ensure the management of prevention, combating and investigation of national priority offences in particular firearms and explosives, priority violent crimes (PVC) and PVC major investigations; 
    • Oversee and monitor all the investigative functions with regard to national priority violent crime environments within the DPCI; 
    • Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external role players; 
    • Represent the Component Head: Serious Organised Crime investigation at various forums as directed; 
    • Ensure compliance with information security standards as prescribed by Minimum Information Security Standards and relevant legislation; 
    • Manage and utilise all resources (human, physical and financial) allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.

    Provincial Commander: Serious Commercial Crime Investigation (Brigadier) Re-Advertisement

    • Coordinate all Serious Commercial Crime investigation related activities within the province; 
    • Coordinate and plan special operations within Serious Commercial Crime Investigation environment; 
    • Comply with DPCI policies and standards relating to the environment (including international agreements); 
    • Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external role players; 
    • Represent the Provincial Head: DPCI at various forums as directed; Ensure compliance with Information Security Standards as prescribed by Minimum Information Security Standards and relevant legislation;

    • Manage the conducting of special investigations within the Province as directed by the Provincial Head; 
    • Ensure that crime information pertaining to financial, asset forfeiture as well as cyber-crime investigation are analysed and utilised by the respective Commanders within the Province; 
    • Comply with DPCI policies and standards relating to the environment (including international agreements); 
    • Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external role players; 
    • Represent the Provincial Head: DPCI at various forums as directed; Ensure compliance with Information Security Standards as prescribed by Minimum Information Security Standards and relevant legislation; 
    • Manage and utilise all resources (human, physical and financial) allocated to the immediate post environment in accordance with relevant directives and legislation.
